I bought my previous car (2002 Citroen Xsara Picasso) for £60 but it needed a new clutch. I managed to get it through another MoT before a mate ran into the side of it when it was parked outside. You do right not trying to start it. Autovaux is a good place for parts for your Vectra. Try the local dealer as well. Not everything is expensive from there. I suggest that you give it a service especially if the service history is unknown. The biggest killer of turbos is lack of regular engine oil changes. Some BG244 will clean the fuel system out. I swear by the stuff myself. The tailgate release button is beneath the electric window switches on the driver's door.

How do you even buy a car for £50? This car isn't bad at all. You could sell it for over £1000, or make it your daily driver, especially if you clean it thouroughly, it is gonna be mint. Idk if it is mechanically okay, but £50 is a hell of a bargain for a car, no matter what.
