Word of advice !! You will not get from EM to cornwall in one day in fact it could take you weeks as weather this time of year in the Channel is not good. Then the run after lands end may look short but I can assure you its not ! The cost of fuel etc and marina fees etc you would be safer and cheaper to have it transported by road . Don't say you have not been warned it could end up costing you a lot more to take it by sea and could also endanger your life. How do I know ?? I have been at sea most of my life and done the journey that you are going to take many times . Good luck
@@TheBoatingBuoys To be honest I would not want to deliver it at this time of year . 1 the boat is untested etc The fuel tanks are prob full of diesel bug so once the boat starts to roll etc your fuel filters will clog and it always happens when you can't afford for it to happen and 2 the weather is not good enough IE long range to take her around Lands End . You will save yourself a lot of heart ache but taking her by road . From Dover to Lands End non stop is 2 days in good weather conditions at an average speed of 6 knts The tides in the channel can really slow you down . From EM to Dover is about 6 hrs alone .
When doing sanding grp or painting wear appropriate mask and paper allover suits and surgical gloves that you can chuck away afterwards but she looks great hopes she passes inspection good luck 😊😊
Salut.
Try thinning your paint with 20 to 30% thinners it will dry way smoother less dimpled, I redid my 79 28 ft cruiser in Canada, way easier to thin it then tip it with a brush for smooth finish, same with any spar varnish you use on wood. Keep them vids coming if boat.
Pay attention when mounting the props. They are not interchangable. One is a left turn prop and one a right turn prop. Each belongs to its own stern drive.
When it comes to painting the hull. They do have special anti-fowling paints. They will stop crustaceans attaching themselves, and they will last longer. I am pretty certain the paint you have used will last about a year, before having to be redone.
Hi, My dad had one of these, but with 6 cylinder Perkins. The biggest thing to be wary of is that the hull is a sandwich construction ie two layers of fiberglass with Balsa wood in the middle and sometimes water gets in and rots the balsa. It is however an amazing seaboat due to its width. Where are you going to take it to/keep it. I have a boat in the Medway
Hi Mike, We've checked her over and she feels pretty solid on the outside and the inside to be fair, so I think we've came up trumps there Reference keeping it I've not got a clue currently but open to suggestions
Definitely need PPE, guys. Goggles, mask, gloves and probably full bodies suits. If you don’t, you are going to have some serious issues going forward. Also, if the guys don’t like being in the video, nobody will recognise them anyway. 😂
hey Bucky, its already in the uk and we are going to costal hug all the way around, plus im going to draft in some friends with sailing/motoring experience
