Coming through the roof! Yeah, that's not sketchy at all. Damn, you guys are literally preserving that stuff from being just tossed into the dump. Hero status!
What a great rescue! I hate to imagine how many parts have ended up in the dumpster due to real estate clean-up efforts! I got a set of good old body tools from a dumpster that I luckily found open while they were clearing out a property. If I'd had the room, I'd have had them dump it at my house (it was almost full!). So glad you are giving more life to these treasures.
Morning Matt, Mike & Steve, wow!!! it's a mess!! but....a serious gold mine mess!!!! what is really cool is the avenues you all will be going down, it makes you wonder what isn't being saved.....be safe, GOD BLESS!!!
I know of several in my area and it's always the same story. Old guy doesn't want to sell anything, even for good money. He dies, the kids don't want to mess with it and sell the land to a developer who pays someone to clear the land for sale. That's when everything gets scrapped. It's not often that someone gets a chance to grab stuff before it gets melted down because scrappers only care about weight for the most part.
Fantastic effort with this haul, the e-type would certainly be one to save as it looks to be an early series 1 or 2. Hopefully you can save more of the vehicles on the property.
Matt, what I like about you, your videos and Iron Trap Garage is that you appreciate old stuff and history. You guys are recyclers of the very best kind. You take old cars and make them run again, classics, hot rods; how cool is that?!!! This is American motor history that you are preserving. Trash to treasure! Junk to Funk! You go dude! Make that Auburn run again! You are preserving these vehicles so your kids, and yours kids kids will see and maybe drive these cars. Thank you for this Matt, you are the man. Ditto all the Homies at the shop!
WOW 🤩 what an incredible and awesome haul of parts and hardware. Anything Auburn is worth bookoo $$$. Good for you guys on this one, looking forward to the next video about this haul.
Great video just you pawing thru top of building saw some Mustang parts alway good for swapping for older stuff people don't have any use for. More of the same always appreciated.
Always fun looking for treasure! What a great friend you have, Glad to see some stuff saved and not let it all go to scrap. As the saying goes "They don't make it like they used too."
That's a crazy pick. I'd give my left arm to get into something like that . It's a shame that whatever you guys didn't grab is going to scrap metal and will one day have Made in China stamped on it .. but like you said , limited time frame and limited resources puts a speed bump into things. Great video once again.
Space is limited, but sometimes, like that site, I think you should just grab it, put it in the hauler and sort it all later. I realized I know this site. The original owner and his brother restored award winning cars especially Packard and Dusenberg. His painting skills were well known and admired among restorers.
That cut down with the V windshield frame would probably be the one to grab. Somebody could make a rat rod with it that would make restorers pass out when they find out what it was originally.
you needed a couple trailers for this pick. there's so much stuff that's worth hauling home it would drive a person bonkers. matt had the right idea, if it looks cool, throw it on the pile and we'll sort it when we get home. especially if you paid one money for everything you could carry home.
What a great adventure! Like many of your older viewers I'm sure they share my admiration for the skill and dedication you guys show in the work that you do at Iron Trap. Other shops may do great work too but you guys have something else. You have a real mission to keep what's left of great old cars out of the junk yards and back on the road and that most significantly to me is the salvaging of parts that are not related to your projects but just need to be saved. That show real passion and soul ; qualities sorely lacking in the business community today. Hats off to all of you!
Thanks for sharing, Guys! What an awesome adventure! I love how you're seemingly in the right place at the right time on a regular basis! The stuff dreams are made from, for sure! Enjoy your week! Be safe!
Hi guys, here I am, even if I don't leave a comment, I always see you, if I were there with you, I wouldn't leave a single screw, everything works because that place is a time capsule.I send a hug and blessings to all from Buenos Aires Argentina.
You had better rent you a 30 foot uhaul an start hauling to your shop. You can sort it all out later. Awesome parts that you just can't find anymore. Get it all. 😁👍👍
I was a professional mover for a couple of large companies, fastest/easier way is to form a line, and pass it to each other, not as much walking this way 👍😁
How great is the life you guys are living! But make no mistake you worked very hard for this. It’s been a awesome ride so far can’t wait to see what’s next.
You've got to wonder how often sheds like that get cleaned out into a dumpster with so much cool and valuable stuff in them. I know of a few when an old guy dies and the family arent interested. Speaking with a local scrap metel dealer they often get called to clear out "junk"
Lots of cool stuff in there! Glad you take time to share these adventures and good luck getting rid of this stuff as it is more specialized and a smaller niche than your usual FoMoCo finds.
I'm glad to see you at y'all went and say some of the stuff and I like to see the frame that you've been working on so far I like to see that car done it be good and cool to watch y'all do it
Here’s the difference between Matt and the old timers, like we see here, things were just put anywhere there was space, intakes piled with fenders, etc. Matt has stepped up and taken these messes and put them in a nice warehouse, separated parts and categorized everything, awesome.
I've thrown out more stuff over the years than I can even remember. You can't keep it all and the reality is it's near impossible to get rid of unless it's free.
I must have said “E Type” Jag three times, before you guys twigged, very frustrating. I used to ride in the dicky seat of a 1937 LaSalle straight eight coup, back in 1960ish, always a hot fodder.🤓🇦🇺🦘🦘🦘
Series 1 E type. 20.000 usd sitting there. Need production number. Even as yard art if you move it correctly. That E type worth more than all the parts you got. But great find. Shame the owner gonna to junk the lot. Some people don't know or give a monkeys. About history.. good luck. Thanks for video
Hay on that auburn dash if it is good shape like no dents or binds get it scanned and have it 3 d printed as well as some of the bling and badges re produced just a thought
The guys at American Pickers bought an Auburn roadster just like the one in the bushes and left it as a survivor. They took it to an Auburn restorer and had it refreshed. You should look into finding the restorer and take all the stuff. Too bad there is no time.
