Girl…many MANY people ignore the red flags that things aren’t quite right. Not only were you aware, you were strong enough to walk away when you knew it wasn’t right. Let me just say, after being with my significant other for 10 years.. you will never have these doubts about the RIGHT person. If he were the right person for you, you wouldn’t feel so torn. That doesn’t mean the right person has to be perfect, but you’d be willing to work through everything and anything. The fact that you were questioning things is telling enough in my opinion. Just be glad you found this out now prior to marriage. That’s a blessing in disguise.
I broke up with the guy i though i would marry on Christmas eve 8 years ago. We had been together for 3 years. It was out of the blue but i knew it was what i needed to do. I would have never met my husband 7 day later had i not made that step. The blessings that came fromna very difficult decision has brought be 6 years of marriage plus almost 4 kids together. Relationships are difficult.
The way Crystal was trying so hard to stay strong for her daughter. You could see that in the beginning as Melinda gets more emotional, Crystal tries to hold her tears in. She’s such a good mother. They did barely date two months and then all the sudden he wants to ask her to marry him, her parents well like I wonder if he's going to ask us if she can marry him, they're all for it they're asking other people what they think of it and her and she's all for it, hopefully none of them do that again and they wait at least a year next time.
Yeah I thought it was kind of weird strange just finally going to be adopted and she was so happy, and boom he want ask her to marry him after barely dating 2 months I feel like maybe he was taking that moment away from her and getting her to focus on this with him that could have been a red flag one of them or maybe it's just me.

Same. I always felt something was off, and I actually stopped watch the Crazy Treasure Vlogs after he started to appear in them more. It just seemed weird. Nothing against Issac. He could be a very genuine person. He just didn’t seem right with this family.

I was in one for almost 7 years and I don’t like to think of it as a waste of time. We have an 8 year old and he’s the most amazing thing. He shows me what love really is and idk what I’d do without him but I did waste a lot of time being stuck and controlled by someone who doesn’t deserve me. It sucks and I’m still learning to heal after 2.5 years of being away from him.

Agreed. I have been there and I stuck with my high school boyfriend for way to long because I wanted the happy ending and I had a future planned in my head. Married to my husband now it was night and day in our relationship and I was confident in marrying him and 10 years later I 100% glad I left that relationship and found my husband.

It's a lot easier to heal from being in love with the wrong person than to heal from the trauma it can cause by staying with them for a prolonged period of time. When you dissect the relationship with a professional and walk through specific details with expert help, you’ll make sense of things so your future relationships can be better. Get to know yourself better and the way you relate, what your needs are. The better we know ourselves the better we can choose for ourselves. Just because someone’s doesn’t cheat doesn’t mean the relationship is healthy. Really take a look at what you tend to tollerate in a relationship to get someone to stay or to try to keep up your dreams of who you want them to be. Your toleration level for mistreatment is probably high. Especially, like you said, for Scarlett’s sake, because she’ll grow up taking on those traits and tollerate being treated poorly because she’s lived the same thing you have. Hey Melinda, am sorry your relationship didn't turn out as planned. It's very hard to end a relationship after investing so much love and time with someone. Your mom gave you great advice. You have a very large and loving support system within your own family. Taking time to be with your parents and siblings, especially during the holidays, can enable you to have some special time to relax and regroup. Scarlett, needs extra attention too and all her aunts and uncles can give her undivided attention. Perhaps you will be able to have alone time too if needed. Stay strong sweetheart, as your emotions may be all over the place within the coming days/weeks. Know you are a special, strong, loving lady who can and will survive. It's normal to have self doubt at times, just put a time limit on it so you don't become depressed. Let me explain: In 2007, I lost my only child just one week shy of her 32nd birthday. I entered therapy, super depressed. I cried unexpectedly and often. My therapist was very wise and advised me to go into a room by myself at home, set a timer for 15 minutes to cry, yell, scream, punch a pillow, whatever I needed to do to get my anger out within a safe zone. When the timer went off, I had to stop everything, get up and leave the room, take a walk, or do an activity to keep active for 40 minutes. It was hard to do in the beginning but then after a couple times using the timer, I felt a little better. I repeated the process as needed. Sometimes if we're depressed and don't set limits for ourselves we can make matters worse. In fact, I also used the timer for my 2 foster children when they were growing up too. Please honey, if you feel up to it, give it a try. So important to get anger, resentment, and hurtful feelings out. God, loves you too so don't forget to talk to Him. Okay honey, I believe in you and don't you dare give up or give in! Take it from an older lady...I'm 72 yrs. old and wanted to help you if I could. Stay safe.
