2:00 Been there , done that... The machete needs a longer tang as the wooden handle can't support the stress where the blade is attached. I would recommend at least one foot. I lopped off a tree limb, then the second tree limb revealed the weak spot. If you are going to do this and have no way to create a longer tang by wielding etc. then really reinforce the tang area somehow.

Rob’s weapon is fast to build, just about two minutes and a good weapon can be made to have a survival in a jungle
