4:40 I mean, here's the thing, I know a fellow on a discord who is making a fully custom catgirl imperium battalion (like, full on ears and tails, anime faces, greatcoat mini-dress, the whole nine yards) and is playing it completely straight because he's just living his truth, so you can feel released from the obligation of either causing this to exist or going too far.
Hello Kitty Marines. My Little Pony Marines, Chaos, Tyranid Sailor Moon Sisters of Battle. Space Wolfs. Purple Orks. Honestly, Cat Girl Traitor Guard is not a problem.
Would love to see how you make the traitor cat people as a kill team or something. Also why not add ears and tail to the sentinel too, their is a Hello Kitty dreadnought out there after all so you would just be balancing the scales 😊.
Honestly, the head looks great, the expression is perfect for a traitor sentinel driver and felinids are part of the lore I think you should use it and play it completely straight.
I say go all in on the mutant cat-guard. Commissar Aisha Clan-Clan, roughriders that are just big spiky lions/tigers, and so on. Chaos mutants don't have to be gross - they can be fun!
Ayyy Reptilian Overlord’s Catanyan heads! I’m sprinkling those into my abhuman guard regiment. Makes sense some of them would fall to Chaos, cats really do be like that.
Still waiting for Jen to say "I will have 'nun' of your puns". And as for the cat head, while I like the meme of it I doubt very many people will be able to take it seriously... So I have to not cast a vote, because I'm equal parts yes and no on it
First of all Amazing Video as always. Second.. definitely go Cat person Third... Your videos have deeply inspired me... I've just gotten into 40K and am Making A Sisters of Battle army but am Giving them Cat girl heads .. and they will be based in a style similar to Whimsyshire from Diablo 3... I just need to figure out how to send you some pictures LoL
@@TabletopTime I'm voting against it. My question to the cat thing would be: why? My thinking is this: If I had a REALLY GOOD explanation as to why my army included these cat people, I'd feel justified in the decision. If my only reason for them was "for the lols" I wouldn't do it. Because something done only for the joke, usually isn't very funny in the first place. Just my two Cents! You do whatever you want with your army, but I would certainly double down on the chaotic grimdark!
@@barbarusbloodshed6347 Could Always go the way of Tzeentch.. and if you follow with Thousand Sons being Egyptian themed, the Egyptians Revered cats.. plus they already have bird like creatures in the form of Tzaangors.. so Cat Mutations wouldn't be too far of a stretch
Why are the Felinids controversial, they are a cannon race in 40k (possibly being introduced in Rogue Trader, citation needed), and one of the few abhumans to be accepted by the Imperium (a real achievement). Also, verifying this information, I discovered Inquisitor Obiwan Sherlock Clousseau is a cannon character in 40k.
They’re controversial cause some weirdos think having Cat People is going to ruin the tone of their uberrealistic-tottalyserious-grimdark-buffdudes-lotsofguns-macho-fest. Nevermind the existence of Skeleton Robots, Space Elves, and the entirety of the Orks. Wish they’d just chill out a bit though, there are weirder things in 40k than canon cat people. Do they really think we WOULDN’T have a race of Cat People if we one day figured out the secrets of Gene manipulation?
@@SkeleGem I'm assuming these are the same weirdos that have a spasm when the phrase "Female Space Marines" is uttered. The fact that the cartoon character race that is Orks exist in 40k pretty much tells me I shouldn't take any part of 40k too seriously. I wish more people would just have fun and stop trying to ruin other peoples enjoyment
@@bubbahms1 you hit the nail on the head there. I still don’t even understand what the issue is with Female Space Marines is, cause change one chromosome from an Y to an X and suddenly your batch of Male Space Marines becomes Female Space Marines, and either way they’ll have very little problem ripping a Tau soldier in half. And honestly, the kinda goofy 40k is the best 40k in my opinion. The setting’s already ridiculous, I say have fun with it. If someone stops having fun because it’s not what they wanted, than maybe they should take a breather and remember it’s just a game
@@SkeleGem as far as the female space marine thing, its caused by GW reconning them and added a line to the space marine lore that say "No girls allowed, boys only" (caused by the terrible sales of the female space marine models). This gave gatekeepers and purist ammo that the majority doesn't care about. I like that 40k is so massive and inconsistent that you can just read what you like and ignore the rest. "If someone stops having fun because it’s not what they wanted, than maybe they should take a breather and remember it’s just a game" - I'm all for having passion for something so long as it's heathy. But, for some it's too much to ask for them to chill and let people enjoy the hobby a different way. But that's my two cent.
They're controversial because the 40k Fandom is vocally anti-furry (although there are a few 40k furry fans). Also they get into arguments over the appearances, like if they are humanoid appearance-leaning cat people (like they only got cat ears and/or tails) or anthropomorphic cat people (Think Khajiit from the Elder Scrolls).
Starting off strong with a Felinid jokes nice. I swear even when I'm not even expecting it, I get jokes at furries expense suddenly appearing in some 40k Vids I watch lmfao. But fr do love seeing Sentinels for Traitor Guardsmen, without the worries of Tech Heresy and a BLAMming from a Commissar or Enginseer they can get away with a lot of wacky and over-the-top modifications.
if you do make a full traitor cat squad, maybe give them another theme. Like tank busters or being extra feral with blades and bones to help them keep the 40k aesthetic while still going hard into the catgirl theming?
I would focus on chaos and only chaos for this sentinel because if you add a catgirl it would confuse the theme of the model and stray away from the initial vision too much. If you really want to do catguard then probably you should make a separate non-chaos kill team with that idea or something along those lines.
Finished my test model for my alpha legion warband but improved is needed Black armor and silver trim/gold They mourn the death of alpharius their primarch as they were there when rogal ended their primarchs life and have sworn vengeance!
I really liked the triangular "beak" shape of the old sentinel's front plate. It gave it a definitive silouette and shape. Thankfully, shape is rather basic, so it's easy to replicate the same kind of vibe with just a couple of plastic sheets.
keep the furry head it looks great, but this needs a metal tentacle tail (similar to the tentacle arm from the new chaos knight kit) you could even make it a "cat o' nine tails" style whip where it extends out and spilts towards the end.
I say go for the catgirl! Only because it would add a unique flair to your army. The angry ree-ing of the cat girl perfeclty fits the defiant energy the pilot is giving off. While the faceless stoicism of the chainmail veil (love that head btw) doesn't quite give as much energy. I'd love to see a Felinid squad, and what you would do with it. cause there are a lot of ways you can go about it. Maybe try your hand at 3D printing specific pieces for them to lean into that dynamic feline agility they might showcase. Maybe even fix up a Chimera for them, can call it the 'Cat Box'.
There is actually a cat girl Imperial Guard army on Etsy called the Nekomimi Winterguard. I've wanted to get some but the only place near by I can play Warhammer is an official store, so I wouldn't be able to use them there.
I think I find the idea of the pilot being a weeb instead of an actual catgirl to be more horrifying. That implies there are still weebs in the 41st millennium. 10,000 years of having to listen about which Flavor of the Month shounen series is ‘peak’ and which is ‘mid’? I’d rather let the drukhari turn me into a chair.
I don't play 40k. But I love seeing you folks build the amazing models for it. And yeah find it funny the cat head. To bad they don't have mech cat paws for the feet of the model. I say got for it. It will be catastrophic! :)
While I like it and think the filthy heretic Sentinel looks great, I have never seen a Sentinel outside of Dawn of War, and with that roof all I can see is the "Little Tikes Cozy Coupe" on legs...
i can actually imagine a regiment of Felinids deployed in a particurally religious part of the imperium and experiencing a lot of racism and insults, like being called mutant instead of abhuman, for years and then a particurally carismatic guardsman, that has an interest in this weird religion about 4 gods, makes them rebel agains the imperium anf join chaos.
Cat person, obviously cat person. Not to take the piss out of the people who don't like it though. Just because it's the true version of the mini and what it was built to look like. The human version is a lie, it is cowardice.
I just bought a couple new field ordnance kits as well as a few veteran kill teams to be able to convert the cadians to krieg. I'm planning on doing it for the heavy weapons teams aswell at some point
Jen wants cat person. You want cat person. We want cat person. Rejected abhumans rise up! For some reason seeing the screaming cat person firing their gun from this walker has made me want to yell "DEATH TO THE FALSE EMPEROR!" more than anything I've ever seen before. I'm not even a Chaos player. I think it's a sign, Dave.
Honestly, the utterly anime felinid head, painted the way it is, works really well as a chaos-corrupted guardsman. I wasn't expecting to like it played straight, but it actually works as a non-meme. And hey, felinids *are* part of the lore. Even if they technically aren't... anime-suped abominations... Okay, now I want realistic feline guardsmen heads - just to see how it could look when played 100% straight.
Video fifty-one (51, 5 1) asking for the Thunderbear cavalry and the Storm bear rider. These would use the Thunderwolf cavalry and Stormrider statblock. Different punny name needed
yes do it do it let the heresy flow through you let it flow free BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD !OWO! hahahahahahaha also all cat girls the angryest cat girls you ever seen. 100%
They’re Reptilian Overlord’s “Catanyans” heads. They’re incredibly fun sculpts with great cartoony expressions, but if you’re looking for more realistic/serious alternatives, than ArtelW has their “CatFolk” prints with human-like and cat-like variants.
