I did a bumper cut on mine too. With the ISR single sided muffler delete pipe, it was driving me mad seeing one exhaust tip opening missing a tip. Since there is no muffler there, people driving behind me can see the suspension links, subframe, and differential 😂 I love that I did the cut. I don’t regret it at all! Makes the ISR pipe look like the tail of a cat
Interesting modification. While I wouldn't enjoy the look on mine, I totally get what Manny is going for. To add to the comparison ST vs RHT: the trunk lid is not only a different shape, but also steel instead of aluminium on the hard top to add rigidity there. The soft top has trunk lid and hood in the lighter aluminium.
Not a bad look, I don't think I will do the same but it looks pretty good.I added the diffuser like Ghosty with plastic screws and came out great. I did mess up and paint mine gloss black but reversed that look later. The exhaust tips need to be a little bigger as well on both.
I personally think this mod makes sense for people with custom fancy billet suspension and exhaust parts that you want to show off. I’ve seen this mod on a lot of cars that just like the way it looks, not for me personally but I do also think it can look decent as well.
@@Mx5modified it sure how much you want to fabricate. There’s some plastic wheel liner pieces that provide support for the lower corners of bumper cover. Without those I’m not sure the strip left over with full cut could stay in place very well…. If you are crafty and wish to do the full cut, then do it! Those lower corners wrap under so nicely and round out the rump, so to just cut all the way across would be a shame outside of your purposes!
They’re not awful but not great. Anything under 40 degrees makes them very stiff. Oversteer and understeer becomes quite the issue. So I don’t push many G’s when it’s that cold. In normal temps they do amazing. They bite nicely on turn in and are pretty quiet. Would recommend.
@@MannyMX5 Cool mine came on the car and I put some all seasons on in the fall just to be safe. I’m in Central Texas so snow isn’t an issue for more than a day and it’s really never that cold for more than a week.
This might seriously be the most wrong thing I've ever seen someone do to their car. And I find it hilarious how all the sheep are chiming in saying it looks good, just to support the move, because they don't have the stones to speak their mind. It doesn't look good. It looks like you are missing part of your bumper, which is exactly what it is. While a handful of you GenX guys, with extremely questionable taste, will think it looks okay, the rest of the world will be looking at your car thinking, I wonder how he lost the bottom of his bumper... Everyone has the right to do as they please with their own car, to be sure. So more power to ya. But you're fooling yourself if you think this was a good move in general. The physic's of the flow of air under the car is just as vital as the flow over the car. And there's a reason diffusers are employed on most performance cars. You just did the opposite of what the best engineers on the planet have a consensus of what should be. Why don't you just cutoff the wheel well flares also, and expose more of the tires??? Because that's very similar thinking to what you did here. Good luck.
