How do you get a picky mangrove to eat I just got one that's about a foot and the people I got her from said they couldn't get her to eat meat just bugs and is it normal for them to be hiding all the time

If you’re on insta send me a message there at Paul’s monitors, but hiding is VERY common, let it happen, bugs are fine, eggs scrambled or raw mixed into chopped up chicks or prawns/fish

They love red meat. There's always ways of coaxing them to eat. They need whole prey items too. Mine love rodents, geckos, exc. It had parthogensis occur at 2 years old. If you must, you could put the mangrove in an enclosed dark area with food and it will eat. They prefer chopped up food even though they can eat big stuff.
