I kinda wish NRS would add alternate fatalities like they did in the SNES version of MK1, to help content creators get around the hyperviolence and gore.
2:15:16 Its interesting yet great how the Lin Kuei has slowly become the main clan in the MK universe like the face of MK clans, the White Lotus was debatably bigger before and the brotherhood of shadows was huge in MKX but with the timeline reset, the shirai ryu being absent from the story and hanzo not being around the Lin Kuei has become “the” MK clan. Love it.
It's been the lore since Mythologies that the Lin Kuei kidnap talented kids, supernaturally or otherwise, from throughout the world in order to be trained into members of the clan.
My theory as to why Sektor and Cyrax aren't too cyberized could be that they are just prototypes and they are just testing it out before they go fully cyber.
I think I know the reason for the genderswaps, and it's gameplay related. They don't want player to get got by attacking the kameo version of them, thinking it was the main character, so their designs need to be different: Johnny Cage, Cyrax, and Sektor all have an expected look that would necessitate more than just a new costume to get players to distinguish the versions, thus, genderswap versions like Janet.
Probably too late, but at the end of Reptile's chapter: "And we will never see these two be useful in this game ever again." (Reptile & Ashura). The versions in the final chapter are titans, not OUR Reptile & Ashurah.
Imagine they keep going with sexist bi han and have his reasoning for only them being in cyber suits is because they are women and views them as inferior and while sektor is fine with being strong with her armor while cyrax is a bit uncomfortable with it and has that as their version on cyrax feelings about the cyber initiative

Probably an unpopular opinion to the MK games having something for everyone as Dog said, I agree but I'll never enjoy any of those games as much as Injustice 2. After Six years of playing I'm still hopping into Multiverse mode, unlocking the gear (while that However has flaws), having fun matches, and playing as my chunk of characters Something I find I can't do after MK11. X and 11 at least have fun and fair tower modes but lack unlockables after awhile but are still fun meanwhile MK1 has the towers but with the worst modifiers to this day, single rounds, and a battle pass like unlocking system that takes forever. If it was faster, had less modifiers or those that didn't interpret gameplay all the time, and had better rotation with more to unlock like Injustice 2 and 11 then I'd be way more interested However most of the good stuff is only in the store. Anyway, congrats on the 50 episodes, I'm still here and hope for 50 more and then some
46:54 in MK 11 we all (the fan base) one character from MK 11 that should come back because they can expand on him more was Gearus. But with the way, the story played out in MK1 she really didn’t need to be a spot on the roster. He could’ve just been a cameo story character. ONRS has to do with his character is just he pops up here and there throughout Mortal Kombat when necessary just to see what’s going on with him pretty much like the watcher from Marvel
16:26 I don’t mind the slideshow when it comes to arcade endings but in the story mode absolutely not that’s what turns me off from soul caliber 6. And I’m good on live action cut scenes those days have been over since the 90s. It can’t be cool in 2024. Trust me I know I’m from that time.
I can't really complain too much about the Rule 63 Sektor and Cyrax because I'm an huge fan and avid collector of Kotobukiya's Bishoujo statues especially the horror sub series 😅
54:08 for the most part I said the same exact thing snake has said when it comes to Sareena and Ashura story arc. Also, it would’ve been perfect to have the other two sisterhood of shadow sisters in this game especially coming off the cage match animated movie., Kia and Jataka. You solve the problem of the lack of female characters, whether if that was fabricated by NRS or not, rather than just gender bending classic characters and that would’ve made the DLC pack way more hype with no complaints other than price
That's wishful thinking.. when a company like WB provides budgets like that, they of course want to make sure they get a great return on their investment, by forcing some decisions themselves.

They was having on the podcast if you click on the timestamp in my first comment.. but to respond to what you’re saying WB never makes the right decisions they killed their own investments and if they keep it up, nobody won’t make it two Kombat pack 3 and I’ll doubt that pack will have another story expansion. It will just be character DLC. And I’m pretty sure they won’t support the game for too much longer after that and then they’ll just start getting ready for injustice. E and hopefully the problems don’t carryover to that game. but I doubt it because WB gaming division has been in shambles for a few years now.

Mortal Kombat usually had low numbers at evo. But they were never this low Jesus 😂 and the fact the first match was cancelled due to “being on the wrong patch”
Besides the microtransactions, this strategy with DLC “expansions” just has the same wretched stench to is as the shtick Capcom kept pushing well past the days of the arcade with just charging for “upgrades” to their fighting games. People figured out to just stop buying these games because they know the “real” version were gonna come out in a year and a half. People were really pissed of by ultra SF4 regardless of their actual opinion of the game itself, people were furious with the state of Marvel vs capcom 3 and UMVC3 didn’t really help take that bitterness from people’s mouths and the of course the final breaking point with SF5 taking several years before it finally felt like a complete proper product in championship edition. How long does nether realm and WB think they can keep playing this trick before the diminishing returns kicks in?
I will never be ok with gender swapping. I hate it. Ive said it everywhere and I’ll say it here. It’s dumb, annoying, lazy, uncreative, disingenuous, and insulting. To make things worse, they aren’t even cyborgs anymore. They’re Ironman! Why? And ya know I find it funny how this is now the third time they failed to fully commit to a female cyborg. They did it with Frost and now Sektor and Cyrax. What’s the hang up, NRS? Women can’t actually cyborgs? Not that I personally count gender swaps as women. They aren’t. This is still an all male pack in my eyes because there aren’t any actual female characters. I could on forever about the rest of this but I’ll stop. I’ll leave off with saying I hate Netherrealm and nearly all that they do.
