I beg to differ. The wait is hard regardless. But it is possible with God’s Grace and our discipline. I understand what you’re saying, but I also think things like buying a house doesn’t have to come before getting married, sometimes we set stumbling blocks towards our own purity by prolonging what doesn’t need to be long. Better still, perhaps it’s just better to wait until one is in a position to seriously and practically consider marriage before pursuing a relationship? Some thoughts. x

@@jadealexander8233 hmmm I think it’s less about time and more about quality. How well do you know them? How much has been asked, observed? How many seasons have you seen them in? What’s God saying? Listen deeply to what they say and don’t say. Watch how they live, is there congruence? Observe them in close quarters. Under pressure. When life is rosey, when it’s tough. How they treat people, especially those that don’t do much for them. Is the word of God treasured by them? Are they towing the line of sin? A quality friendship/acquaintanceship before dating can help you gauge these things. Weigh these things up wisely. Then make an informed decision regarding marriage. Xxx

@@ifyalexis @Jade Alexander I defo agree with Ify! I think we should be sure that our requirements pre-marriage are rooted in biblical commands, rather than following popular norms. And if we're not ready for marriage, is it wise to be in emotional relationships? It's hard regardless, but I think there are ways we can make things a bit easier for ourselves. God bless!
