Madrigal: MAH-drih-gahl. Originally a Renaissance song-form in which several different unaccompanied melodies are sung, first separately, and then together. Lin-Manuel Miranda gives us a modern-day version in this song. The entire creative crew, including Mr. Miranda, made an extensive research trip to Colombia to study the history, the culture, the music, and more, so they could accurately depict them onscreen. When you watch the whole film, pay close attention to the balcony behind Dolores & Mirabel during this song.
I LOVE this movie. The music is amazing and I am extremely hopeful that it wins Best Original Song finally giving Lin EGOT status. I would 100% watch a reaction to the whole movie. If you're going to continue checking out the music first, start with The Family Madrigal. It's the first song and gives a run down of all the family members and their powers. Next is Waiting on a Miracle, Surface Pressure, What else can I Do. If you don't want to know the end, save Dos Oruguitas and All of you for the full film viewing. Lin and the team actually spent time in Columbia learning about the musical styles to keep things authentic. I just watched a reaction by a lovely Columbian girl and she was extremely moved by the positive portrayal of her country. I won't spoil it but there's a lot more to Bruno.
I love the reaction. You should definitely check out the movie... I've been obsessed with the music for a month now 😂 But I would love to see a reaction to family madrigal and surface pressure. Those two contain no spoilers. Then there is waiting on a miracle and What else can I do. Those contain no MAJOR spoilers, but you might be able to pick up some story elements from Them. And you should stay away from All of you and dos orugitas. Those are from the resolution of the movie and gives the whole ending away. Personally My favourite song in this movie is surface pressure. It's so good and powerful.

This movie is really cute. I'm waiting for the new movie they will be coming out with. Maybe you haven't heard yet, but our friend Ms Billie Eilish is singing 3 songs in it and our boy Finneas is voicing one of the characters! It's about boy bands called "Turning Red" Can't wait for that.
