In today's video We Explored UK'S CHERNOBYL The Most Dangerous Ghost Town
this is a housing estate dubbed UK's Chernobyl and its set to be demolished next year
its real name is The Clune Park estate, located in Port Glasgow, Inverclyde, which in the early part of the 20th century was home for shipyard workers.
There are now approximately 20 people living in some of the 430 flats. Which are In very rough conditions.
Property is so bad and rough that it's known to be the cheapest in the UK, with one flat selling for just £7,000 at auction, the Daily Record reports.
The area has been plagued with arsonists, causing shops, a primary school, and a church to be abandoned.
Plans to demolish the blocks created tensions between the council and private landlords who refuse to sell up.
"A decade ago it was estimated that it would cost £36.5million to refurbish these buildings.

Just watched this the letters were so compelling. I lost a son in 1999, from drug abuse. I feel for the person writing the letters, even though I do not know them. Thank you for this video. I hope if there is anyone that watches this, who has an addiction, please seek help. Your life is worth living.

I'm a recovering meth addict, I've been sober for 25 year's! Going on 26 year's in June.. in the beginning it was so fking hard!! The first 5 year's were a struggle 😪 after that it wasn't that bad.. but there are days I still get cravings but it's so much easier to let them go.. I feel for that girl!!

In the U.K it is illegal to watch TV without a licence. These letters are sent out to scare people into buying a licence. The truth is a big majority of people ignore these letters. The so called enforcement officers have no legal right to enter your property uninvited. Xx Loved the video. XXX

Clune Park was the site of an 11,000-capacity football ground which opened in 1881 and was closed for redevelopment in 1912. The large site overlooking a railway, the A8 dual carriageway and the Firth of Clyde was transformed into housing during the 1920s. The majority of the flats were small, with 69 bedsits, 310 one bedroom flats and 51 two-bedroom flats. As a result the area had one of the highest densities of housing in Inverclyde. Over the years, the decline in shipbuilding caused many to leave the area.

Your awesome and very caring and concerned young man ,that letter absolutely broke my heart, as a mom of older kids myself .The world we live in looks down on people with addiction .Most addictions usually start because of untreated mental health like depression ,anxiety and people are looking for a way out out of there head ( with all feelings and emotions 😢)Just to feel ok and unfortunately aalmost look todrugs because it allows them to feel numb , I have a younger brother who is in his late 20s who is an addict and it’s 😭

I live in scotland and that estate is going to be demolished,and new housing will be built,the old tenements are no longer suitable for people living in,the people will have been housed in other homes,the stuff is left,as it's not worth taking,they would get money for having to relocate,so they can replace stuff,you wouldn't want to take mouldy furniture to your new home,sadly drugs infiltrate everywhere and alot of young people sadly get hooked and their lifes are ruined by addiction,glasgow is used regularly for movies,as the buildings can be dressed to make it look American,they are filming batgirl here right now,scotland is a beautiful country

Wow Steve, that was an awesome, but on the other hand also an entirely sad explore, you were doing together with Josh and the other fellows there in that UK town! - I was deeply touched, when you were reading these letters, and then you formulated some thoughts about not to stigmatize on addict persons and about how to improve the situation of the general misery in many places all around the world right now. Hi Steve, I know this place and live app30mns away I can tell u it's not as bad as u think everywhere has its problems, couple u spoke 2 were right they have been in dispute for yrs regarding refurbing or demolishing red tape, a few homes still lived in. Thing is 20mns down the rd is a very affluent area with really large homes, generally place is just like everywhere else has its good and share of not good bits. Keep up the good work 👍

Sometimes in rehab the counselors will have you write letters to family members that were hurt by a loved ones addiction. They will read their letters out loud to a group of peers and then rip them up or burn them. Just part of the process of getting clean and taking responsibility for ones actions.
