Most of the original 21 jumps street cast was in this movie. Only two didn’t make it in this one: Richard Grieco & Dustin Nguyen. There were also a lot of teasers calling back to the series like Tatum’s character name in this is similar to the captain in the series.
21 Jump Street was an 80s TV show about young looking cops going undercover posing as teenagers. In the cast were Johnny Depp, Peter DeLuise (the other DEA officer), and Holly Robinson-Peete (the motor pool officer that issues them the car). Depp also tells them at the beginning of the film, "If you two are cops, then I'm DEA."
@@IncognitoJohnDoe .... .... yes. Thanks for that. The show pigs18 was referring to was actually aired in '87. I assume you just read his comment too quick or something.
As an older millennial I can confirm that back in high school you were considered uncool if you two-strapped your backpack. Is that absolutely ridiculous? Yup.
I was in college in the early 90s and you had to one-strap it. I'll put this as delicately as possible, people who two-strapped it were considered developmentally challenged.
Johnny Depp wasn't really a random cameo, he was a protagonist in the original TV show hence his quote "Oh we started in Jump Street". Also he said in the beginning "if you're cops I'm DEA" and he actually turned out to be DEA This film was a masterpiece of parody and subverting tropes with constant payoffs from offhand jokes and comments in the earlier parts of the movie
originally channing tatum didnt want to do this movie but i think it was jonah who convinced him because he knew he could be funny too but was spiraling into a romantic lead typecast like dear john basically
I always have to bring up that they used my high school for some of this movie. I had some friends in the band scene and it’s our literal band director at 13:09. I’m even behind the curtain for the Peter Pan play scene!
Damn... I totally forgot that Depp was in the 80's 21 Jump Street lmao I feel so old and I remember my mom used to always watch the Brad Pitt episode too
Channing Tatum also has funny roles in Free Guy, Lost City, and Bullet Train! (All of those movies have a relation to Ryan Reynolds, by the way...). And almost all of the original tv show cast show up as well... the only cameo I had a problem with was with Holly Robinson's character (Hoffs, who assigns the officers to their "kick a$$" car) who was still working a low rank job at the PD... she should have been at least a captain by now, or working with the DEA like the other two... And Dustin Nguyen, who played officer Harry Ioki in the TV show, was in the movie playing when Johnny Depp and Peter DeLuise have their cameos. OK. You need to watch 22 Jump Street for sure, now! So much fun!
One of the funniest buddy cop action comedy movies ever made, based on the TV series of the same name. 22 Jump Street was released 2 years later. A crossover film was considered, MIB 23, where it takes place in same universe as Men In Black, but it was cancelled as Sony didn't want to see an R Rated version of a beloved series.
The entire premise of needing to memorize the Miranda rights isn’t actually true. Most officers carry a little pocket book with the Miranda rights and it’s not even necessary to read them immediately after arrest (that’s just in the movies) it’s only required before questioning so it’s usually done at the police station. All that aside it’s a great redemption story for “Brad”, even tho I’m sure it’s confused a lot of people on the real law 😂
That is Riverdale High School in Jefferson, Louisiana, a subdivision of New Orleans. It really looks like that. That fountain display in the middle of the courtyard was usually drained. The theater was called the Levee View Theater, and yes, it did and still does looks like a prison.
I hadn't realized until now, even if I had watched the movie a few times before, "Fat Gandalf" from Deadpool's bar scenes is also here, he's one of the bikers
Cops CAN not read you your Mirandas as long as they're not asking any questions. The second they're going to actually interact with the detainee they need to read the Mirandas, otherwise any testimony can be thrown out
Don't have to read you your Miranda Rights until or unless the start to question/interrogate you. Yup, the Eucharist. Went to Catholic school from k-8th grade and had to go to Church every Tuesday morning with my school and than mom made me go with the family on Sundays. If we misbehaved during the service she made us stay and sit through the next one. We called that jungle juice when we just mixed every type of alcohol we took from our parents home together.
C’mon y’all seriously 😂🤣. Johnny Depp & his partner Peter Deluise we’re in the original 1980’s TV show, 21 jump street. They were the main characters, the 2 undercover cops in high school. This film was a comedic remake of that show. Albeit back then the show was more serious in tone than this film remake. You 2 can be so damn funny sometimes on y’all’s reactions, 😂. That’s why I’m a fan.
They probably did bro…remember this is edited RU-vid version I bet they had the credits on the paid patreon version 🙃 but yes I agree I wanted to see that too! 😂
technically you dont have to read someone their rights unless you are going to question them. if you dont read them their rights, then nothing that they tell you can be used against them in court
No. You don't get to go free because the police didn't read them their Miranda warnings. Miranda warnings are only required when a suspect is being questioned/interrogated by an officer, and any information from that interrogation is going to be used in court.
Just an FYI, Miranda Rights/ Warnings are NOT required to effect an arrest. They are only necessary if QUESTIONING an arrested individual. If Miranda rights are not read, any incriminating information obtained from questioning is inadmissible in court.
This is important lol… cops ONLY have to read your Miranda rights if they are about to ask you questions about a crime. Anything they get from you before they read those rights can not be used against you in court, but CAN be used to arrest you. No matter what, the only rights that matter whether you’re innocent or guilty, is that you have the right to remain silent, and to an attorney. Always ask for a lawyer! And stay quiet!
Mr.Walters is HFS drug supplier. He blackmail Eric. Mr.Walters loves Dorito cool ranch chips favor. He create Dorito cool ranch chips favor on his drugs. That's why HFS drug taste like Dorito cool ranch after Greg Jenko mentions it's taste like Dorito cool ranch.
They don't have to read u ur rights. That's a misconception. They r suppose to let u know u can ask for a lawyer prior to talking to u and can't deny u one. If They continue to talk to u and are caught. They can get in trouble.
Miranda rights are just a movie thing. Police only have to read you your rights before any questioning can take place. But they don’t have to read them to arrest you.
True story, my cousin got arrested by a bicycle cop on his front porch for smoking weed and making fun of the cop. Dude just went out to drink his coffee and read his morning paper when he lit up and the cop rolled up on him and told him to put it out. He laughed and called the cop gay. The cop was not gay and not amused.
*22 Jump Street* is just as good. . .some say it is even better. 7:13 Not sure what Vince saw when they cut to the school that freaked him out, it looks like virtually every school I've ever seen. 🤷🏼♂️
