If you rewatch the scene where the machines attack the expo you will see tony save a little boy with an Iron man mask, it's a young peter parker (Spider-Man).
Regarding how Rhodey's suit got hacked: When Hammer did the upgrade of the Suit he didn't only slap all the weapons on, Hammer Industries also "upgraded" the suits software. This explains how Vanko could connect to it from Hammer Industries and hack into it so easily, because like everything else Hammers software security sucks ass.
"Our very strength invites challenge" is a quote from an Avenger in a future movie and I think you nailed it. Iron Man existing so publicly really does encourage supervillains to exist as well
It's good they focus more on Rhodey's character than the War Machine suit in later movies, that's the important part.. but that scene where he's cutting the robot in half with bullets is so GOTDAM sweet. I have high hopes for his solo show.
at first i wasnt sure but after the even the first movie i was glad Don Cheadle was given the role even if the circumstances weren't ideal he's been one of those actors ive seen around since i was a kid in the early 90s and im glad he's been given more spotlight plus him and Downey jr seem to have great chemistry throughout the rest of the other movies
I love how excited you guys get about these movies now. I wish I could erase them from my memory and watch them all again for the first time. I don’t get the hate for IM2, I love this film. Tony’s dialogue is so well written, and his chemistry with Pepper and bromance with Rhodey is so genuine
My fave is IM3, but people look at me like I'm crazy. He had to do everything himself with none of his resources or money. They focused on his mental health issues, outed terrorists, and stopped a rogue government program and politician. And he was basically acting solo a majority of the film. And he was still hilarious.
@@spikeluv84 i only just recently discovered that iron man 2 is so disliked amongst the masses, it is my favorite out of the 3 🤣🤣 3 is good too but i still enjoyed it all the same
Love to watch you guys react to these amazing movies. It's such a treat to see someone discover the MCU and know what awesome things are yet to come!!!
Exactly. I love being in agreement with random people across the world and coming to a beautiful collaboration of enjoyment and agreement, and we all know what side we're on. Giving the fact that you don't see it so much in person like this, as toxic as the comment section can be lbr 😅 its still perfect.💯
Fun Facts: "Larry King" was actually Stan Lee. Justin Hammer (Sam Rockwell) and the blonde journalist Cristine Everhart (Leslie Bibb) are married in real life. The alcoholism storyline is straight out of the comics, where Rhodey filled in as Iron Man while Tony battled the bottle. That storyline is what drew RDJ to the character, because he was recovering from substance abuse himself. No one wanted to hire him because of that., but John Favreau took a chance on him. And the rest is history.
Not-so-fun fact: the DJ at the party is DJ AM, and he and Travis Barker were doing a series of shows, touring etc as a drum and DJ duo. Both were on a private jet that crashed on takeoff. Travis had skin grafts over 80% of his body because he caught on fire from the jet fuel. DJ AM died. 😞
Great reaction guys! I asked myself the same thing when I was younger. “How the hell does he know how to drive these super fast cars?” Lol but then I realized he flys at speeds that are 4 times as fast as that
Rhodey's suit was removed from the Stark mainframe and placed onto the one Vance built for the other drones. So that's how he was able to power up Rhodey's suit. BW then remotely hacks it and puts it back on the Stark mainframe.
When I first saw Iron Man 2 and when Mickey Rourke (the Russian guy) kept insisting on "getting his bird" I actually thought he meant Natasha (Black Widow) - because I knew she had Russian spy background so thought they were working together. But gladly wasn't the case. The Justin Hammer guy is Sam Rockwell (actor) and he's one of my absolute fave actors. He's very very good and was awesome seeing him in this movie. :) And I agree, this was a great movie too. Loved this one along with the first. It did really great. :)
@@knightfallnoir699 Well originally at the time of this movie's release that wasn't Spiderman because Spiderman's movie rights are owned by Sony. Spiderman was never supposed to be part of the MCU until much later. If they already know that thats fine. But if they didn't i would love to see their surprised reaction.
It’s still hard to believe that they included Randy’s Donuts in this film. I just wish they still sold those muffins with filling. Those were my favorites years ago. My favorite part of the whole film was seeing Tony and Rhodey/Iron Man and War Machine destroying robots together.
Love the energy. The vibe is great, and enjoyable. Been a fan for a couple months now, and it's awesome. Definitely looking forward to more reaction videos from the both of you. Keep up the commentary, and glad to see you both enjoy the movies you watch, it definitely comes across in these videos. 😁👍👍
It's fun because they start gradually adding new characters and re-occurring ones. And those post-credit scenes (some films have multiple ones) just leaves you wanting more... Good stuff.
Since you've seen Spider-Man by now, fun fact, in case you haven't been told: the little kid Tony saves (24:19) was originally just a random kid, and is played by the movie director Jon Favreau's son. However, after they were given permission by Sony to have Spider-Man in the MCU, they did some retconning - that little kid is now Peter Parker, pre-Spidey. In universe, he would have been around 7 or 8 here, since it's set in 2009 (Peter was born 10 August 2001).
23:30 I'm no hacker but I think it makes sense since Hammer designed those and modified Warmachine for him to override control since he's inside Hamer's software and in the Hammer company building.
Did y'all know that the kid in the Iron Man mask is actually Peter Parker? Tom Holland confirmed this and it's absolutely mind blowing that Tony Stark actually met Peter Parker in this movie and he met him when he was a kid without him knowing that he would meet him again as Spiderman to recruit him and take him under his wing. I'm still baffled by it, it's insane.
Mickey Rourke is an actor from the mid 80's who made a big splash with two movies, the erotic romantic drama '9 1/2 Weeks' followed by the neo-noir horror tinged detective story 'Angel Heart'. He was an ENORMOUS success overnight it seemed. Later, Rourke became very disenchanted with the movie business, feeling the attention was all on his extremely good looks and not enough on the quality of his acting. Long story short, he quit acting, became a professional boxer for a number of years with modest success and eventually returned to acting in movies where he never again played a lead part. You two should absolutely watch 'Angel Heart' starring Mickey Rourke and Robert de Niro among other known names.
Great reaction you two! And such a great movie. Mickey Roarke was so scary good as Vanko. He was a great equal threat to Tony and was completely believable. Sam Rockwell was amusingly annoying in the role of Justin Hammer. A great example of the worst decision making process possible leading to the worst possible solution. Natalie Rushman/Natasha Romanov/Black Widow is such a kickass character. She and Hawkeye are my favorite original Avengers in the MCU. And then there's poor long-suffering Pepper. 😀 Gosh, what she puts up with. Vanko, being a genius on Tony's level, as well as being in house when the Hammerdrones were built and programmed, didn't have to hack anything to take over the drones and Rhodey's suit. He was there when the programming of the operating systems was done and even if he wasn't one of the programmers he had plenty of access so he could install a system bypass so all he had to do was log on and he was authorized to take control. Again, scary good. And, again, Roarke was terrifying in and out of his suits as Vanko.
The scene where vankov controls the drones and war machine isn't actually hacking that he's doing. Since Hammer provided the hardware and Vankov told him his software was shit, he wrote in his own code already. So once they were online he was already in control. Nerd PSA 😂
The character of Tony Stark was written to be an exaggerated version of Elon Musk. Robert Downey Jr interviewed him during the shooting of iron man 1 to understand Elon's lifestyle/personality more. They even payed homeage to him in Ironman 1, the cars in his garage that he burnt from testing his flight suit, one of them was the original Tesla Roadster.
@@Vicious357 On the Map behind Fury. Wakanda is clearly marked ( blink and you miss it moment) This was at least 6 to 7 years before the country is said by name in Civil War and 8 yrs before we see it in the Black Panther movie. The in universe theory could be it did SHIELD know about Wakanda and its secret in the MCU ? Nonetheless a clever little Easter egg.
Apparently the "Ex Wife" didn't malfunction, the missile was designed to be used while you're already at a fast speed so that's why it didn't blow up Vanko.
i will always love this movie so much mainly for Sam Rockwell's performance as justin hammer. he's so slimy and hilarious. major props to Mikey Rourke too who played Venko too. he was a great villain and his russian accent was great.
i love your guys reactions so much, you both truly seem to enjoy these mcu movies, and so many couples the girl is fake as hell and you tell they hate every minute of it, its nice and refreshing to see you both into it, cant wait for the next one and im here for the whole mcu run, and anythign else you guys watch
I really enjoyed Iron Man 2😆🔥. Scarlett Johansson did a really good job playing Natalie Rushman aka ‘Black Widow’ and I loved her action sequence at Hammer Industries👍🤩. Sam Rockwell is such a talented and fantastic actor as I adored his funny personality in this film being an antagonist and I loved his dance moves as he’s a really good dancer👍. Happy that you watched the end credits as my favorite Avenger ‘Thor’ comes in🤩. Loved your reaction/analysis, take care and have a good one❤️
I’ve been watching Don Cheadle AKA Rhodes since he was on The Golden Girls. Natasha Romanoff AKA The Black Widow AKA Scarlett Johansen has her own story in the Marvel world as well as others. She’s a bad girl!! I’ve been watching her for a long time too.
I was thinking the same thing! I even told them in my head “good for them” lol. Happy to see channels grow. Hoping they post mcu with less days between movies moving forward.
The part about the desk ornament actually was RDJ wanting to move it bc he hated it. He said in an interview that has the same one at home, in her office, and she got it just to annoy him.😂😂
You guys are fantastic; I love the reaction. You going to have too much fun with Thor and all Marvel movies to come. Just take you time and enjoy them all. The acting and creativity is amazing. The bad guy with the electric ropes is non other than Mickey Rourke; an incredible actor.
I just wish he had the same chemistry that RDJ had with Terrence Howard from the firs movie. There was a loving and caring friendship there that Don doesn't seem to convey enough
The "Shield Agent Girl" - - She is Natasha. You will see her again. You have only just met her. I'm excited to watch your MCU journey unfold. You have started it; stay on the release order path, Grasshoppers, and all will be revealed. What goes behind you will guide your every step forward. Or as Willy Wonka might say, "So much to see, so little time!" ❣
Thor and Hulk are both the power houses of the Avengers and their strength/power rivals each other with Captain America 3rd. Black Widow and Hawkeye are both valuable teammates as they are useful in their own ways.
Love your reactions guys, but this time I need to say NO! Ironman 2 is not better than 1!! I'm glad you enjoyed it, I do enjoy it with you! Keep it up!
@@A.jmmmm04 the fact you took time to write this makes me think that maybe I phrased it wrong. It was an obvious way to be polemic in a funny way, but I’m not native English so maybe I didn’t express it properly.
Thor is next, and then Captain America. The two movies start off in a fairly similar way, which you may notice if you read and remember the short captions that occur a couple minutes in.
Normally this would come off as an insult to some people, but I’m glad you two don’t know much about the marvel universe. It makes these videos so much better.
