Fun facts, Devon Bostick AKA Rodrick was in a movie about 9/11 back in 2003, so a random 9/11 picture being in the after party photos wouldn't be impossible, just a bit of a weird reference to another movie he's been in. At the same time, is it really that weird of a reference considering all of the weird references in the movie, like the roller rink sounding an awful lot like Lord of The Rings, which happened to be released in 2001, same year that Rodricks 2003 movie is about.

As good as the commentary was, they skipped over some very important parts. Like Rodrick and Greg pranking the coach, and Zahn saying WHAT WAS GENERAL GRANT DOING ON THE THERMOSTAT! Other than that though, this was hilarious.

When I was 15 I was… obsessed with this movie for… reasons.

That old lady bathroom scene was scarier then horror in the last decade.

I just love Grant's energy throughout these commentaries, it's like he speaks only lowercase

But like actually the reason why there are so many scenes involving underwear/bathing suits is pretty obvious: these movies are based on books that are half cartoony comics, and are supposed to be diaries. Things come across differently in cartoon comic form than actually acted out. Also, the diary component adds a different perspective to it. These are things that happened to Greg, and since we’re reading a book from his perspective, a lot of the embarrassing situations depicted feel more like they could actually happen and we’d react about the same way and die of embarrassment if we were in Greg’s place. And the books were never supposed to be made into movies. But then they were. So take that how you will. Should these movies have been made when they kind of defeat the purpose of the original series? Feel free to debate lol

I don’t know if it’s because of the change of director between the first and second movie, but in this movie there’s less random original stuff. A lot of stuff that wasn’t actually from the Rodrick Rules book is from either the first book or the third book. The first movie had its fair share of random original stuff though, like the whole thing where Rodrick trapped Greg in his room. That was a movie thing. But I will say that this movie likes to take stuff from the books and just change it completely. In “The Last Straw”, the church scene (that appeared in this movie) happens. But the punchline has nothing to do with the sweater or the chocolate on Greg’s pants. In the beginning of the scene, when they get out of the car, Rodrick wants to get out of church, so he says to Greg, “you can borrow my pants” and starts taking off his pants. Just then, Frank’s boss drives by, honks his car horn, and says “Happy Easter” as if to mock him for having such a dysfunctional family. This is the only joke really made about the chocolate. Susan lends Greg her sweater to tie around his waist and they carry on. The punchline that happens in church is when Greg whispers “ploopy” (a bad word that Manny made up) to Manny, causing him to burst into tears. Of course, the Heffley family leaves the church because of this, and on their way out, Greg tries to look cool in front of Holly despite being the obvious cause of the chaos.

Not once did they say,"the chad rodrick and the virgin greg." I am dissapointed
