Winter is upon us, and every year we have to carry out a series of exhausting jobs to prepare for 6 months of cold, damp and muddy weather. Despite this being our 3rd year on the boat, the transition into the colder months doesn't get any less tiring. So in this episode, we give you our honest thoughts on boat life while winterising our floating home 🥶😓

Yall inspired me to thoroughly pack up winter clothes last summer and the extra space is amazing and opening up the clothes again really did feel like an early Christmas! :D

Loving the flashbacks to the previous years 👏👍. You're more organised than I am (although i'm not as limited for space 🤷‍♂️). You know you're turning into the canal boat gurus for off grid living 😉. That was also a banging looking stir fry (minus the garlic skins) 😋 - I see a vegan canal cookery book on the horizon 🤔

Great episode. Even in a house November can be a bit grim. My toilet leaked through my lounge ceiling. Luckily the clean water 😅 but involved carpet drying and ceiling painting. I'd downsize the clothes. I operate a capsule approach with only 10 mix and match items for summer and same for winter. Not underwear, obvs. Its very easy to manage with only 20 items in my whole wardrobe. I never pack anything away this way xx

Hot air meeting cold air = Damp. your fire is at one end of the boat, which means the opposite end is cold.. some boaters close off the back end and live and sleep around the fire area "WRONG" mould, damp, wood rot, rust , blar, blar, blar when you open up again in spring time.. listen to a long-time boater who, as made every mistake possible.. my advice is to invest in a Chinese diesal heater.. simple to install, reasonable cost (shop around), but most of all it will sort out your damp.. vacu plastic bags brilliant

I don’t have to do a Summer/Winter swap! I’ve kept my clothes to a minimum, but then I am nearly 70 and not bothered about fashion like I used to be at your ages lol. Also, I don’t have anywhere near the storage space you seem lucky enough to have. ❤️

That was monumental . Well done. I remember a big drama when my granddaughter had to get a lift to a friends urgently to pick up a top . The whole day would be wasted if we couldn't get there on time ...... I couldn't believe my eyes when we collected something the size of a handkerchief. Your summer stuff reminded me of that ... haha x

You need to buy a stainless steel powder coated chimney that will last 15 years ++ as mine has. It is twice the price of the cheap standard one

Hi guys.. oddly enough my names Wesley and my daughter is called Amy.. parallel universe lol.. anyhoo whenever i watch I can't help be think of the similarities in personality between wes and Richard Ayoade. And how funny it would be if you said ' we did Slough but should we have come' etc after all your adventures do resemble the mini breaks he used to broadcast. Maybe I'll see you on the water someday. It keeps throwing me how much you can carry in your boat. We've just started out on our next journey. Caravan around Aus. But I've had to cull my clothes pile 2 times now and this week will be throwing more things out of the van to keep our weights down. I know it's a crappy job, but you guys make it look fun

It cant be that fun on a boat during winter simply because the days are short and it gets dark early,its cold and muddy and your cant go anywhere and your stuck on board Gregory's Girl. Please dont give up just remember sunny days will be back.❤❤
