Yes I am with you!!! I got mine done as soon as I was born, and I never had to worry about piercing pain! I can just opt to wear an earring or not depending on my mood now.

I thought that too then seen where it looked like she was doing holes but she would stop and back off. Then when she really was doing it oh boy she cut loose . Thank goodness the 2nd. One went faster. 😊

No she had no idea her parents.the two people who are supposed to protect her from pain was going to purposely inflict it and harm just because they thought it would be cute.they did this without a second thought or caring.

​@@MelB868Also those guns are the worst possible thing to pierce anything with. And thaws aside form the staff who aren't piercer and don't know exactly what they're doing or the risks involved. The guns can't be sterilized, the earrings aren't sharp enough not to cause excessive and more painful trauma to the body. A piercing needle goes right through quickly with no tearing and is far less painful and is also a clean and new STERILE needle. The gun is not. It has aerosolised blood from everyone it's been used on and poses a huge risk of infection.

I don’t understand how why some people are so against getting a baby’s ears pierced “because they aren’t old enough to speak for themselves to say whether or not they want a part of their body mutilated”. And @favouralechenu8046 this comment isn’t at all directed towards you. It’s directed towards all the people who are making comments about the child being “mutilated” against her will or something similar. First of all, the word mutilated is being used there incorrectly, I suppose just for dramatic effect. Mutilate means: to injure, disfigure, or make imperfect by removing or irreparably damaging parts. Having a hole punched in a child’s ear is not irreparable. If the child gets older & decides they do not want their ears pierced, then they can simply take the earrings out & the hole will eventually close in. So anyway, all of that to say I agree 100% with @wentillman8385! Why aren’t people more concerned about all the chemicals (aka poison) being injected into their delicate newborn baby’s body before they even leave the hospital?! I got my daughter’s ears pierced when she was 1 year old & have 0 regrets about it. She just turned 13 in August & has never had a complaint about them. I also blindly trusted my doctors & allowed them to give her the first round of vaccines before leaving the hospital as well as all other subsequent shots from the vaccination schedule up until her 1st birthday. Until then she was developing normally & even hitting most milestones early. She had begun speaking, saying things like Mama, Dada, bye bye. But immediately after her 1 year shots she became super cranky & inconsolable, which was very unusual as she was typically a very happy baby, & once we got her to sleep she slept much longer than usual & I finally had to wake her because I was getting concerned. She didn’t speak another word for almost 2 years & was diagnosed with Autism at 2 yrs 8 mo old. I don’t care who says that it’s been proven that vaccines do not cause Autism, because I saw the change in my daughter with my own eyes that happened overnight after that round of shots, which was the last ones she ever got. I just want people to wake up & do their own research on things like vaccines, which actually can cause irreparable damage to your child & does so a lot more than most parents are aware of. 🙏🏻❤️🧩

Same way babies get 72 (probably more now) shots before the age of 5, compared to 13 shots by the age of 18 in the 70s. I will NOT do needles anymore, and all 4 of my kids won't, either. I've had my ears pierced 3 times in one ear and 4 in the other, but do NOT come near me with a hypodermic needle! I'll get my whole body pierced before I'll let some "medical professional" stab me (and too many of these people take it to a new level) repeatedly in the name of world health!

I got mine at five. Years old. It been 3yrs and they got infected but I rlly wanted some and I didn't even cry

I dont get why girls have to be pierced at all. It is just a societal norm which seems unnecessary. Girls or women will remain beautiful even if they dont wear earrings or nosepins. God has made them beautiful so why defile it with such unnecessary customs.

Its not a social norm. In ancient times males and females both used to wear ornaments like earrings, nose rings, toe rings, bangles, anklets etc. because these ornaments help in putting pressure on our various neeves which are good for our health. @@salwatisekar7228 Yeah, but you have no idea who your kids are gonna be when they grow up. I don't like my ears pierced, and the holes don't always close all the way. So I have scarring in my earlobe + partially closed holes that I am going to have to maintain for the rest of my life, for something I don't want. Now, look, I was 7 when I made that decision (and honestly, still too young, I only wanted them because everyone else had them), so I will take my lickings for a bad decision, but the baby doesn't even have that much. Not that I'm shitting on them for their decision, it's just food for thought. A LOT of parents get their daughters ears pierced for selfish reasons, not out of consideration for their kid.

Far too young to have it done.

I was 12 and it was painful.. never went back to multiple piercings, with my daughter I waited and let her decide she is now in her mid twenties and no piercings

Dude yall ain't the parents for crying b out loud get a life my niece got her ears peirced at 5 months.

When I was a baby, Mom wanted to get mine pierced, but I cried so hard from my shots that she decided she'd decided to have all her kids wait till they're at least 16 to make the decision for ourselves. We're all adults now and only the youngest got hers pierced. I'm too afraid of needles and piercings seem like too much of a pain to take care of for me to do it (though Mom attempted to convince me multiple times) and the middle sister doesn't think it's worth it because of her metal allergies that she somehow was able to learn about without getting them pierced.

There is nothing cruel in that it's normal that way she won't have to pierce it when she's older.

I can't relate as its in our culture to get pierced which is a big deal followed by prayers and party. And it does have scientific significance with respect to health as well.

The hole can close if you don't use earrings for over a period of time so is not really a problem. In some people os barely noticeable or not noticeable at all

I am a firm believer in waiting for the child to be old enough and responsible enough to take care of her ears herself. I wasn't allowed to get it done until I was 12. I don't agree with getting this done to a baby who isn't old enough to give consent to having a part of her body mutilated like that.

Look, I'm not shitting on your opinion, you do you boo, but the "no rights" thing is dumb lol. Carrying the baby 9 months does not give you a right over their body. Being their legal guardian and their being underage is what does that, though there are arguments about WHAT exactly parents have a right to do. As evidence to my claim, you can't force a 20yo to get their ears pierced against their will jsut because "you carried them for 9 months". that is not your right.
