We Got Kicked Out Of Our New House 

I lived in a house from pay check to pay check. Spent my whole life in a house with mold in the bathroom. Your blessed to be able to even do something about it. Some people can’t even afford to fix that.

The problem why new builds get mold is that when a new build starts, if the builder's let that newly framed structure get wet , the rain or snow soaks into the wood. If they don't let it dry FULLY, when you insulate and sheetrock, it bleeds out of the wood and sheetrock. Sheet Rick got wet at one point. Spray bleach on spots and prime wall with mold inhibitor primer, then paint

Talia said it, this is a journey, part of your overall story. Very thankful you two have one another to lean on, console each other, voice concerns and frustrations, BE there for your partner. So glad that they are tapping the mold in 💕 Depending on the mold type, some can be bad to breath in and others are harmless xx We had black toxic mold all through our kitchen walls to the bathroom that also lead to the lau dry and we got removed from our home for 6 months. Im so sorry to hear you guys are dealing with this but glad you are taking this seriously and getting it taken care of asap. I was exposed to mold and got extremely sick from it. Hoping they find the source and are able to treat quickly so you guys can enjoy your new beautiful place ❤️❤️

Stay safe, better to be more careful than not.❤ I used to live in an old apartment in Seattle and black mold is no joke, I was sick all the time and it was about 6 mo of living there before it got fixed.

As a property manager, this is something that can happen often depending on the kind of rental properties you're managing. In most cases, it can be cleaned and you can move back in. But always better to stay somewhere else while it's cleaned. This really depends on how much there is and what kind of mold it is. Black mold is different than a few green spots on the wall. I'm so sorry to hear about thus guys. Yet I'm glad you noticed it early on while the house is still somewhat empty, less furniture to work around. You're healthy. It could have been worse. Thank God the workers are on it. It's best to stay out of the house until the cleaning is done. The only thing is this now requires you to spend more money. Car had to go in the shop for three weeks, 6 days later winter storm hit and trees landed on my house and now the truck has another problem. God always makes a way. Such a bummer. this happened to me as well. We moved into our new build home in early June and also found mold in our guest bath in august. Thankfully it wasnt toxic. It took about 2.5-3 weeks to fix. So frustrating. Good luck hopefully it wont take too long.

Dang! Been there done that…moved into a renovated place in October and not even 2 weeks in we had mold on the ceiling, discoloration on the walls the through new paint from mild behind the walls. Was so upset 😭. Happens when ppl don’t take their time doing the work. HOT MESS EXPRESS 😣 I feel your pain, it’s an unexpected headache and super inconvenient! Definitely good to stay at a hotel until they figure out the type of mold it is for sure. Hopefully they resolve and fix it up quickly so you can enjoy your new place ❤️. Make sure all other areas are FULLY sealed off while they work to avoid the spread of dust and crap in the air on your new furniture while they complete the work. I guess the positive is you caught it early before you were fully settled in and all the big holidays passed so its not interfering with possibly family you would have planned to have over. I understand your pain my husband and I bought a house we have a mold issue. It happens you’ll be ok.

Molds in every house so don't panic too much!! Just try to find the source of moisture that is causing it. If behind kitchen cabinet try checking water hoses with fridge, dish washer and even the sink. If nothing maybe check for a close window even outside. But mold cant grow with out moisture. Keep it dry. Boiling water turn vent, dishwasher runs turn vent on. Maybe even invest in a dehumidifier until figured out. Good luck and don't worry too much.

Hope the mold remediation goes quickly and you guys can be back in your new home asap. But, at least you guys caught that before you were fully settled in and are now safe. Sending positive vibes your way!

Keep your heads up and hopefully it’s a quick fix as long as your healthy that’s all that matters. It’s all full of emotions the situation that has arisen but there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

So glad you guys found it! Especially if it is black mold, you are so lucky to have caught it before getting sick. My family is still recovering from an extremely toxic home, one of the things being black mold in our entire ventilation system. :( it was so toxic, it caused my brain to herniate out of my skull and into the area where your spinal cord comes up. We also had FIVE carbon monoxide detectors fail to alarm to a CO leak, it’s a miracle we even made it out alive and unfortunately, that’s not even all. Side note: 50% of all CO detectors fail, they also have to be at specific amounts for a certain amount of time before they even alarm. The best bet to ensure safety is to get multiple low level, sensitive detectors that digitally show the amount in the air at all time.

Industrial Hygienist here 🖐 they're going to have to remediate and depending on how much mold is in the house, it might be a few weeks. I would definitely not stay at your house during remediation. Also, you can also hire an environmental company to do some air sampling once they're done, just to make sure the air quality in your home is good. I would also recommend buying a air purifier because you can experience headaches, itchy eyes, etc, due to the mold spores in the air. I'm sorry this happened to you guys. I hope this helps. 🙂

I hope everything works out for you guys! Mold could happen from anything! Make sure your venting is very safe and good. Condensation happens from cooking, running water wether its your bathtub or your sink. Be safe

I had the same thing in my new home it all started in a wet area There are many types of mold, and none of them will grow without water or moisture .I hope it hasn't spread to far .good luck guys
