Hi! We are Phil and Alex! After leaving California in an RV, traveling full time, and helping our littlest with an open heart surgery, we've settled down in Tennessee. We found our homestead land and are learning each day how to live a more sustainable life. We are a family grown through the miracle of Adoption & Infertility Treatments. Our precious daughters are Kinsley Grace (6 years old), Callie Jo (5 years old), and Cassidy Drew (1). I think you should name them "The Herbs 🌿 of the Garden"! Basil, Oregano (Reggie, like my Cousin Regina), Parsley, Thyme, Sage, etc. ♡

In germany parsley is Petersilie …other herbs are Salbei, Dill, Schnittlauch, Basilikum, Melisse, Thymian etc.

Hi Phil and Alex - I also had a dog with separation anxiety. After doing extensive research how to help my dog, I learned that I needed to come home in a calm manner. Calmly acknowledge the dog and continue with my day. Coming home and giving the dog tons of loud, positive energy, makes the dog think when you leave it is bad and when you are home it is good. Try being calm with Chloe when you get home and see if that helps her anxiety over time.

That pig pee will soak under your flooring you’ll never get rid of the smell, my husband was a pig farmer, the smell was bad enough on his clothes, I wouldn’t keep them indoors for long

Back in 92 my family left sunny San Diego, and moved to Sandpoint ID we loved raising our own pigs,goats,chickens,egg and meat ,and turkeys my marriage didn't last but that few last years growing our own food was wonderful, and taught my 3 sons responsibility that helped them in their adult years

You didn't ask but remember to make sure that your fence goes in the ground at lest 3-4 feet. They root alot! Just trying to save you time & energy.

The Kune Kune that Sow the Land just got are so sweet and they like to be loved!! They eat grass, (not rooting) but grazing, which seems so alien…but cool! Your girls are growing like weeds and becoming so mature!! Super fast!!

Since you want to use them for lard, I'd call one "Ghee" and the other "Tallow". BTW - you should consider getting another cat -for company, since they'll be outdoors (eventually LOL)

Question.....now that you have a menagerie, will you ever be able to get away in your trailer? Animals and gardens make it impossible to leave home other than for part of a day. My son is homesteading, and that's where they are at. If I want to see them, I must travel to them (14 hours). I don't mind. They love what they are doiing. But the realization has to come that everything changes now.

When you get bonded with them it will be super hard to kill later. My parents had to sell a steer because us kids wouldn't eat it because we loved it Be prepared.

I know that will yall look at the big picture. I was stating a fact of life. Some people have too big of hearts. I said nothing of these 3 but their hearts will love the offspring too. Everything has to be put in perspective to be able to kill too. Stop reading more than I wrote. I'm just stating a message for thought.

I wish I could have had a community when I was going through infertility. I was so unaware that I didn't even consider it infertility when I lost 4 of my 7 pregnancies. But I do know the grief that both of you were talking about. You both are in my prayers.

Dottie for the black and white one Molly for the white girl And we need to see boy before naming of him Also with grazing the pigs make sure you move them really often as they actually compact the soil really easily which is not what you want as it makes it harder to work the soil and to get nutrients down where it's needed So rotate often and you should be good

OMGOSH you guys are going to LOVE having pigs. They were always one of my favorite animals on my grandparents homestead! You actually need 4 gilts and 2 boars at the least (8 gilts and 4 boars for meat) all from different lineages so you can rotate and still have pure stock and no inbreeding, that is if you plan on keeping some piglets to increase you drift. As for ticks, get a passel of opossums on average one opossum will eat roughly 5,000 ticks in a season.

It's just so hard to hear people say they hate cats, to say you hate an animal is so brutal. Maybe replace the word hate with dislike if you have to be negative towards animals. Btw cats are the most beautiful animals, better than most humans.

Love it. Now the pellet bedding also works as cat litter. Look up a you tube video on how to make the cat box using the pellets. I've been using the pellets for several years, I will never go back sand litter. We always scoop the solid soon after its there. The liquid dissolves the pellets into saw dust. The dust shifts through to a puppy pad. We have 3 inside cats and charge the pad 2 times a week. With one cat once a week is good. When first training the cat just add a scoop of the pellets to the sand takes about a week add more pellets to the sand until you can go full pellets. We also use the small bags for the solids and put all the bagged solids into a bagged diaper pail in the garage, that we dump on trash day.

Your kids are going to be so much better off than their peers. First off, kids need dirt and germs to strengthen their immune systems. The foundation you’re giving will help with life skills they will need for the future, and they will be able to survive whatever this crazy world hands out. Survival skills education is REAL life. Also, I LOVE that Cassidy was in feet pajamas and a tutu. Hysterical and cute ☺️

My daughter (who is now 22!) Used to wake up every morning and put on: Wellies, a tu-tu, a red woollen hat and a “Thomas The Tank Engine” crash helmet. That was her standard wear until she was about six! Luckily, she’s just qualified as a teacher, so clearly her days of looking like the love child of Salvador Dali and a human cannon-ball have served her well! Creative minds always seem to fair well! This type of pig is gererally a grazer and do not root the the ground. If you are looking for pigs to til the ground you may have to get another breed

I would love to give y’all some pig help! They will need a bigger area. If you choose not to ring their noses they will root like crazy and tear up that area very quickly! Also the smaller the area the bigger the stink.

Kunekunes don’t generally root, their snouts are upturned and they are much smaller and quieter than feeder pigs

Grew up on a pig farm with 2000 plus pigs it doesn’t matter if you have a whole freakin stadium for them they will stink lol

@@teeandkids937 well unfortunately I disagree, we have a hog farm and at most we’ve had over 300 on the ground at one time. The more spread out they are the less smell because they aren’t turning their Waller spots into crap pools.
