Got a new fuel cap hinge for the red Volvo V70 that we are trying to get ready for a car inspection. The tank door is really sloppy now and is pretty much in the way when you have to fill up with gas. But this plastic hinge is not the most durable and in the middle of assembly the locking clips break. I can't possibly be the only one who managed to break the locking clips for this hinge.
So my mind is spinning and I'm trying to come up with a solution. For a while I thought about whether I should go and buy a new hinge, but out of nowhere a flash of genius came into my head. Yes, you can see in the video which solution I chose to attach the hinge and it will be a much more durable alternative than the small plastic pegs that come with it.

The plastic hinge for the fuel cap that fits the Volvo V70, S60, S80, XC70, XC90 can be bought, among other things, at Biltema with article number 52-990. We have used the rivets I use in the video before to, among other things, attach the inner screen to the "Luxury Cruiser, Volvo S80". These have article number 12-920 at Biltema.
