Great video! So I am now the proud owner of this vehicle now. I am in PA. I will say you guys did a great job on the tune! I just got the car on 12/10/22( this past Saturday). It’s def a crazy fast car. I was wondering how much it made on just pump gas. 430whp on 91 at 5000ft is crazy we have 93oct and around 400ish above sea level so I’m assuming I’m closer too 450ishwhp now. I also located the previous owner and talked to him a little bit about the car. Greatly appreciate the work y’all did.
Hello, Can its still run stock internals with 460wp + ? or already need to start change to forge internal..does the actuator need to calibrate after installing new turbo?
There are plentt of guys running 550whp on stock internals 460 is nothing on this engine Things get dicey above 600whp tho....several guys have done it but its alot of power on stock stuff - some lost motors up there 500 to 550 is a good sweet spot and this turbo can take you there with fuel mods
Great video from install to tune! I'm FBO with my R and thinking of fuel upgrade and turbo. Sounds like you guys would suggest XDI over the Hondata fuel system?
What turbo is less aggressive than the p600 but more better than stock? I drive street so doesnt want the power to come only after 4000rpm.. any recommendations?
p600 is ball baring so it should sacrifice very little in terms of spool time, but I hear the mhi is very responsive also. I'm just concerned with reliability of either one. I went with pure and blew up three of them in just a couple of years. These guys blew up 3 MHI Turbos on a civic Si. And I hear that PRL has their own issues. I hate to say it but V Band might be the only reliable option.
Why would you want a turbo to come on down low on a fwd car? All you will do is spin making a bunch of torque down low Torque above 4K is better and faster than torque off idle with a turbo thats wheezing by 4k If thats your goal just keep the stock turbo and go full fuel system e50 - you can make 430-450whp and roast your tires with all the stupid torque down low I hated stock turbo e30 - makes the car twitchy and you have to baby the throttle mid corner or blow the tires off and push Whatever floats your boat tho RV6 R660 is what im on now and I love it - nice wide powerband above 4k and enough power for 129-130 traps
@@TheFK8Life I’m not looking for big power figures as i daily my car 90% and 10% is track. Hence why i need some power and response below 4k, And still be peppy on the streets whilst giving enough power all the way to 7000rpm. I don’t want to overspend what i don’t need too. Im leaning on mhi and xdi. What r u making on Your 660 ?
@@upbeatmantis86 I drive 1000 miles a month Im making 566/434 and revving to 7600 E55 tune Red Star went 11.1@129 making a little less power with this turbo
@@TheFK8Life it’s not so much needing to come on low as much as it is coming on when you punch it. The camera car in this video makes 100 less HP and is on the stock turbo but always gets the jump because in go he goes and I sit there waiting for boost to come in. Another thing with having a responsive turbo is if it comes on so quickly that your ripping through the tires you can either ease into it or start at a higher gear or do a higher speed roll. When there’s lag you either wait and have to come from behind or you brake boost and then definitely roast the tires. I’m running the MHI now and it’s waaaay better than pure. Traction is not much of an issue with theses cars especially with good tires.
Yep, we can tune that! Please purchase the following etune: edgeautosport.com/edge-autosport-etune-honda-civic-1-5t-all-type-r-2016-2019/ to get started.
Yep! Obviously the injectors will be your next bottle neck but you can get tuned on just the P600 and the pump while you save up for the injector upgrade.
Love watching the channel I was hoping you guys could find compatible spherical ball joint inner and outer tie rods, for the 10th gen si you guys are building that would be awesome and it is something that I wanna do to my si
Downpipe, Intake, Upgraded Turbo, HPFP, Race MAF, Inlet pipe, Injectors, Flex Fuel and a custom tune and you're nowhere near 600 lol. Legit 600HP on this car isn't that easy. Regardless 480 to 520hp is the sweet spot for this car. I wouldn't even think about going over 500 without building the block. You would be surprised what this car feels like at 480hp. As well as 600HP would have all sorts of traction problems.
Can’t wait to get the upgraded turbo, saving up for it but in school full time been tough. This channel is really good helps us 10th gen civic owners have a reliable parts source with fun car stuff along the way. Thanks I’ll be subscribing
It is simple a change of diameter when you step up to the race MAF - you would still use the same MAF sensor. Any change of housing diameter requires a re-tune.
Brah lol they added an aftermarket turbo Why are you talking about warranties furthermore, tuning doesn’t out and out void the warranty it’s up to the oem too determine it’s void from Improper tuning. The issue is this has to be proven in court and most people don’t have the spare money to go fuck you see ya in claims. As a result most oems will flag the ecu and go it’s your problem even if you’re doing a simple oil change, and they flag the ecu. Harley is well known for this, so if you plan on tuning find a tuner that specializes specifically in your car and model, then do proper maintenance. Past that it’s luck but generally speaking unless it’s something oddball like tuning a brand new Ferrari F8 don’t worry about it
Sure you could, but you would not see nearly the results you should from your tune. The fuel system is one thing you don't want to push near 100% duty... its always better to have more fuel available
@@jamesbenedictcastillo5226 Sure, you could add an Auxiliary fueling system to increase the volume of pump gas... but the nice thing about a fuel pump upgrade, while expensive, is you get more flow, with more ethanol ability, all on the stock ECU. However you should consider flex fuel if going bigger turbo, it is really convenient, and ethanol is worlds better than staying on pump gas.
I like watching tuned video about civic type r. I have the sport one and and give me idea when i will beginning changing parts but of course it will not be the same seems engine it not the same as type r.
