I live in Eastern NC and our trout fishery is just barely OK, it used to be booming! I hope someday we outlaw the shrimp trawls and gill nets from the nursery waters. We are the only state that still allows this insane practice of letting them kill all our juvenile fish in the trawls and the big baby producers in the nets. It is straight up criminal what they are doing in our state. I hate to talk trash on our commercial guys but they are the ones driving this out of date practice. They have almost completely depleted our flounder fishery, we only have a 2 week time frame where we can fish for flounder now. I sure wish we would adopt Louisiana's laws for trawls and nets. The commercial guys blame the recreational fisherman for our decline in fish, totally ignorant!

They are, and have been following the money. It is as corrupt as you could imagine. Basically the commercial guys are stacking the pockets of the commissioners and politicians, but there's hope on the horizon as there's a law suit pending. Pray for us Brother, we need it!. They are destroying our natural resources but keep lowering the take the recreational fisherman can have while still allowing the nets and trawls to do their thing! Nice mess of fish as usual sir hopefully the weather comes on in tomorrow. Starts moving out by Sunday and by Monday or Tuesday. Things should start picking up I can’t wait. keep them lines tight. 🎣

It’s a fine boat definitely the nicest one I’ve ever fished in. 26 foot triton 400 Mercury. But as you now the boat doesn’t catch fish. Billy is nicest guy you could meet he’s trying to up has game on the tightline. I’ll be fishing with him though out the winter helping him.
@@Laproduceman well like I said old Billy has one fine ass rig! I didn’t realize it was a 26 footer ,although it did look real spacious nobody was fish on top of one another! Well I have news for Billy , if u spend the winter with him he will gain so much knowledge from DA’ TROUT SLAYER A J LaCAVA lol! But all jokes aside he will be a better fisherman fishing with you buddy , I know that as a fact from my little bit of experience fishing with you my friend! Tight lines bud!
AJ y’all caught a crap load of them , hell most of the time I’d see u bump it once and they were on, a bunch of shorts though but they will grow quick!
AJ yesterday i hooked only 3 trout all nice ones, first one came off at the boat, i flipped the 2nd into the boat and he bounced out and the third one broke my leader, i was ready to give up fishing.
Not good John. I’m taking a break this past week from fishing. I’ll be trying Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Hopefully I can find something on the northshore. I know my friends did good yesterday in Hopedale just trying not to make that run just yet.

Your spot is safe no video will be made of yesterday. We did catch some nice ones in the bay but they wanted a cork. I’m not trying to send boats in the area.
But I agree we need the shrimp to leave. We had a cast net with us yesterday. We made 5 random cast all different areas one cast each stop. We caught 2-3 shrimp at each spot. Way to much bait everywhere hopefully the NW winds will blow some out. I made 3 cast at the dock each cast had 3-4 large shrimp that’s nuts
@johnfontenot7861 because we don’t need birds to find the fish when they’re gone. It makes it easier to locate the trout for us. And the number one thing for me no more catfish and white trout they will follow the shrimp.
@@Laproduceman AJ im trying to learn as much as i can about trout fishing so my question is how is it easier to find trout without birds, thats the only way i ever find them is by finding the birds. And those wht trout taste 👍 PS i know its a hassle to answer all theses questions.
Dang Mr. Lowell ur messing up my ass kissing lol! I know AJ knows a lot of the best spots and him and his buddies do share information a lot , but between AJ and Cisco they have a many years of experience and knowledge of good fishing spots!

Find any shoreline that the wind is blowing from. I fished Delacroix Friday morning 19 keeper and had to do a lot of running around to find them without birds. My friend went today 6 trout. I was thinking of trying it tomorrow but I think I’ll wait until middle of next week. I’m not going to chase birds. I will find something else to do until then.
We had to go through a lot of fish but that’s all keeper speckled trout in the box 12”-13 1/2 was all we could get. Let a few cold fronts pass and I’ll be swinging 20” plus fish again at my favorite area. We ended with 67 all keeper speckled trout and one redfish that Dennis decided he wanted to keep. I lost most of the good morning bite and a dock cleaning ending to a bad memory card.
