Your excited? Now I’m excited!!!! I just moved to PA . I had no idea the wild trout got that big here. You just got this old man hyped up to start trout fishing again 🎣🐟✌️🇺🇸
5:30 WOW 😮 JUST WOW that footage was Awesome Dusty my friend 💯👌🏼 you never fail to deliver 😉😁 just a week to go for me for Trout season I can’t wait 😉😁 ✌🏼💙🎣🏴👍🏼What a beautiful butter brown 👍🏼
I will say that this is the coolest video/trip you’ve put on RU-vid. Good footage and had me excited right there with you. I’m jealous I don’t have those around me. Tight lines
Glad you’re enjoying boss! 👌🤙😁 It’s too bad I didn’t get the big male that hit my spinner that day & didn’t get hooked! Ughhhhh🥴😩🤦♂️ Just as big or bigger than that female….. that’ll hopefully be on my next “Redemption video” Lol🤞🙏😁
We opened up here in ny today but had to work. I live close to the west branch of the deleware, beaver kill, geneganslet river All within an hr. Some of the best trout fishing ny has to offer.
Thank you very kindly, sir……yeah it’s definitely one of my favorite ways to fish….. I have also implemented the streamer jig into my game the past couple of years as well, they can also be very effective! 🤙😁
No arguments from me, but I’m not going to take a trash bag and clean up every piece of garbage I see while I’m fishing……. Unfortunately with floods, things wash into the streams & along them though, it’s just the nature of the beast.🥴🤷♂️ I have pulled trash out of the streams in the past though……. You definitely hate to see it!!!!!!
Appreciate the compliments Boss.👌🤙😁 Yeah I’m actually considering possibly getting one of those Frabills, the opening on those things is massive compared to mine!
That’s precisely why I don’t names streams in my videos….. I feel if someone recognizes any of these spots & chances are they already fish them & know they’re good! 👌🤙😁
Yeah, that was the weirdest thing I’ve seen for that time of year. It was definitely a redd and that male was skin and bone sitting right on it.🤷♂️ I definitely pride myself to not fish during spawn months, as soon as I see activity I’m done till it’s done 🤙
Cool video!! I live on Pennsylvania yousta fish a bunch of tiny streams. Then I fished the Lehigh River almost exclusively for years It's a wonderful fishery.Teaming with trout.
Does that stream stay about that size and depth year round, with the exception of it getting high when there’s a lot of rainfall, what I mean does it dry up any smaller where those fish have a hard time surviving , or do they stock those size fish each year, nice trout by the way, that makes fishing fun
I mean when the water gets low the shallows become basically a trickle but the deeper holes remain deep year round so the fish don’t die…… & these places are not stocked, these are mostly all wild fish in my videos! 👌 Thanks man, yeah you find fish like that definitely makes the trip worthwhile wherever you travel to! 🤙😁👌🎣🙌
nro were do you find all these wild browns. im lucky to catch on 1 20 plus brown a year i have seen you catch atleast 20 haha. if you ever want a second hit me up. i fish just about every day i can weather permitted.
Well dang, that opening scene looked like a streamer, my bad. I enjoyed your vid and looked like an epic couple of days on the stream. Tight lines my dude. That deserves a sub from a fellow fisherman 😊
@@DanAcondaOutdoors Thank you my brother, truly appreciate & glad you’re enjoying…… definitely take a look at some of my other videos, some are exclusively the use of those, I classify them as streamers myself! I’ve got some pretty decent vids using them! 🤙👌😁🎣
When you let a big fish run your drag, you’ll loose the better part of them due to wrapping in structure & breaking you off in most of the areas I fish! So this is why I run 8lb. line & horse a bit, the more you’re in control of them the less chance of them controlling you & you end up with a cool story & not a cool pic😂🤙
@@chasingthewildwithdustyrho2620 Yeah okay, I figured the snaggy nature of the stream was the reason. Totally understandable. I fly fish myself and use a little bit of drag even in tight small streams cuz I find letting the fish run in a controlled way is better than it flailing and rolling, but there are exceptions, like this stream in your video where there's snags everywhere!
Plus getting the fish release sooner rather than later increases their odds of survival. Very nice fish handling by the way. Are you using single barbless spinners? As your hooks come out easy. I've witnessed surgeries performed on the grass then photos and 20min later returned, belly up most times. Folks could learn a lot from your handling of fish. Maybe make a video on just proper fish handling?
@@johndelaney8405 thank you very kindly for your compliments. Glad you’re enjoying.😊👌🤙😁 I’ve actually just been pinching my barbs for the past couple years….some of my earlier content I may have struggled a bit more with a hook removal and I realized the mortality rate is much higher when you’re able to remove the hooks easily from either the throat or the gill if you happen to hook one deep…. Yeah I have some educational content in mind which I’m likely going to make a video for in the upcoming future. I guess great minds think alike. Lol🤙👌😁😉👊🏼 Tight lines and the best of luck to you in your future endeavors! 🤙👌🎣
I fish literally all across the state boss….. & I’ve found good fishing all over the state as well! They’re out there!! Sorry I really don’t give stream names ever but definitely explore around with your son, he’ll appreciate & remember that….. 👌🤙😁
They are a homemade pattern design….. my buddy actually ties them & hooks me up with a few now & then! He doesn’t sell them to the public though unfortunately! 🤷♂️
If you’ll check out my one video where I have an open tacklebox and pretty much describes all of the setups and gear that I use, it’s a fairly short video, Check it out if you’d like! 👌🤙😁🎣
I'm from PA also and want to know where this is located. I have been laid up for over 2 years with an injury and would love to go there if this damn injury ever heals up.
Lol…. Yeah I wish I’d have had my GoPro with me on that hunt….. he’s a 160”, took him at 10 yards….. would have been Epic footage…. my best bow kill! 🤙🦌🏹
Those hole hopping ducks and geese should be classified as domestic terrorists this time of year as far as I'm concerned. They seem to know exactly where to land upstream to blow up your afternoon!
@@chasingthewildwithdustyrho2620 Yeah, I saw that. Which stream? Im in PA and I dont know of any small streams with 20+ inch wild brown trout swimming around. This looks like the mouth of 2 mile run, rte 8 between Oil City and Franklin.
What kind of spinners u using look like mepps right. My biggiest brown was 26 inches long idk how much she would of weighed. She was fat as hell but love your videos keep up the good work always make my day i eat supper watching your videos and also watch Kendall gray but he hasnt posted for awhile
Yeah man, Mepps all the way!! 🤙 Dude a 26” is no joke, that’s definitely a legit fish right there! 👌😁 I’m glad you’re enjoying my stuff bud….. I’ll try to keep the good content rolling for you guys! 👌🤙😁🎣
Just letting you know, it's frowned upon to pull a fish up by the tail because all its weight is put on the spine and stretches it out causing damage. Putting a hand around the tail is just as a clamp and the other hand should always be supporting the weight of the body of the fish.
At the pipe, you are fishing downstream. This is a no-no. Yet it worked just fine. How often do you fish downstream? Why didn't you cast under the pipe?
The idea is fish face upstream for food coming downstream towards them. It’s the more natural presentation, but either way works. I’ve caught fish both ways.
i like to think of working your way downstream as a no-no, not fishing downstream. ive caught many fish from casting downstream. since they face upstream, approaching them from the front as the bigger no-no. but if i walk up to a spot while not wading just yet, i will 100% cast down stream as well as up. id say i cast downstream often, pretty much as often as i find myself coming out of the woods to a nice open pool with good water to my left and right
Man I’m from pa, and unfortunately you’re right! I can’t stand ppl who litter, I’ll get in a fight on the bank if I see someone littering and they don’t pick that shit up.
@@Tygor3533 well to be fair only creeks/rivers i been to in Pa is bethelem, im from phila tho but yea that thing was more beer cans/trash than anything else
Id say the ultimate trout species is the ones they dont stock. As far as i know Pennsylvania stocks Golden Rainbows, Rainbows & Browns. Not Brooke Trout.
@@JohnBenussiBass Im sure they do, They have to keep population up somehow. But to say a trout is a wild trout is a bit of a stretch because you never know with all the stocking each year. Sure try non stocked creeks but with floods trout get pushed down creek anyway. Just to hard to say if it was actually a wild trout or not.
@@whodidwhat32 well here is the definitive answer….. if they weren’t Wild they were in the stream a long damn time & look wild…… but when the stream isn’t stocked & you also catch smaller brown trout that are 100% streambred wild fish kind of brings me to the conclusion that the bigger ones are wild too…… they just get that way by eating those Brooks that you spoke of…… Unfortunately 🤷♂️ There are wayyyyyyy more streams in PA with natural reproduction of brown trout that people realize……. That’s definitely a fact!
@@chasingthewildwithdustyrho2620 Heres one for you.. Because i dont believe thats the definitive answer. I live in Pennsylvania & have all my life. The raised stocked fish there are tons of giant ones.. & i mean giant trout. Im not new to trout fishing..Ive caught tons of big trout from rainbows to brownies & i can assure you they were not wild trout. Most trout already a certain size get kept in Pennsylvania & thats for eating mostly. The bigger ones are the ones that people mount.
If they were not stocked trout they usually dont make it that long to get that big is basically what im saying. So most big trout are because they were already a certain size when stocked. Saying its a wild trout would have to come from a non stocked creek. People eat trout alot, Plus all the ones that die..Due to people & natural causes i guess to. Its one reason i gave up trout fishing is because of all the stocked fish. I quit trout fishing 2 years ago & moved onto catfishing The Susquehanna River. Nice brownie regardless though.
Great video, I just wish you wouldn't do "a Roland Martin" when showing the fish. Presenting the fish with extended arms towards the camera making it look way bigger is a misrepresentation of the actual size. They're nice enough without using this far to common practice nowadays.
Yeah I like to showcase the fish, their colors, their patterns, like the other gentleman mentioned, it’s not like I’m trying to make a big fish bigger but I’m not a big fan of not being able to see other people’s fish/deer in videos at an extreme distance so I get mine a little closer so people can appreciate their beauty! 👌😊 Tight Lines, Cheers & Best of Luck in your future endeavors……. And Thank you for the compliments…..glad you’re enjoying! 👌😉🎣
Once you beat a fish up like that keep it out of the water for photo you should keep it dinner for 2 or if it's a catch and release only area leave them alone catching the is only 50percent of what fishing is all about we're living in a time when it's some kind of sun to keep fish if you are going to release this is not the correct procedure you do not handle a fish you are going to release! By
Wow……… Thank you for this Amazing advice!!!!! It definitely sounds like to me that you have the expertise on this matter & I should definitely listen to every word…… If you wouldn’t mind, possibly make a video of your own explaining the proper procedure for handling fish “The Proper Way”??? I’ll definitely watch that video👌👌👌
I liked your video. Very good, one criticism though. Why don’t you identify the stream you’re fishing? Most viewers live away from PA anyway. If you can’t identify the stream you’re fishing I will not continue viewing your videos.
That will be just fine….. there are enough people that are from PA that watch my videos that if I gave up the stream names they would most certainly become over pressured & or kept from these streams……. I care way more about the lengthly quality of these fisheries than I do about 1 Sub…… glad you enjoyed, but I guess I won’t “Catch You, on the next episode of Chasing the Wild” 👋🤷♂️
Why would you identify it? Just to have dozens of people migrate to the spot you spent time finding. 20k views and thousands of subscribers…you don’t think people would flood to this spot? Try making a video of your favorite fishing spot or hunting spot, tell everyone where exactly it is, and get back to me in 6 months. I promise it won’t be your favorite spot anymore
Did you know that you can net a big fish fairly easily and quickly when you first hook them because they’re kind of confused……. Or you can take a change of them catching their bearings and running your drag into the structure & breaking you off! There now you have a little perspective on why I did what I did! 👌
