Definitely needs an exemption list so you can add items that you won't accept (regardless of value in trade).

Do not do this. Do not interact with scammers at all, in fact. The only way to not get scammed is to completely ignore these scammers

Plot twist. Plugin is made to not work with certain usernames and KempQ will wait until everyone starts using and organize a heist like in Ocean Eleven and take everyones gp overnight and run to Bahamas.

Awesome job! I do think that price manipulation risk needs to be highlighted more. A lot of people won’t watch the whole thing or won’t understand that part, and will be too reliant on the plug-in. The best thing to do for people who aren’t willing to risk, is to not trade scammers in the first place.

This whole scam wouldn't be an issue if Jagex just makes it so when a change happens in the trade screen, there is a timeout before either one can click accept

I dont personally have the wealth to test this, but I do genuinely trust your system. And the large amount of fluctuating nay-sayers, from "this is how you get complacent and scammed" to "this made my cat pregnant" shows just how angry they are that this was posted.

for price manipulation, you should just have a mode where it will only accept items on a whitelist. things like coins and stable items can be added by the user. most price manipulation is probably using obscure items or something you shouldn't be taking over a trade window anyways

This really is a fantastic thing you've done. It's not just great for anti-scamming.... but for EVERYONE to use in the same way as skull prevention.

The best way to not get scammed is to stop interaction once you see suspicious behavior. The way they get you is by getting you to overcome your wariness.

A small warning to people using this plugin to protect themselves, scammers can still add "valuable" worthless items to make it look like you gain money (G.E. Price-wise), even though the items you receive will be unsellable.

Maybe a big brain move to not get scammed is dont trade and use the grand exchange and scammers will automaticly get less victims.

Better idea guys, ignore scammers, keep your ego in check when people say "Show wealth" and anything that sounds too good to be true, is always a scam.

All you need to do in order to completely scam the noobs using this would be to use an item that has an inflated GE valuation.. Guys just don't interact with scammers.

Honestly an 11/10 plugin. Well done. Now we just need a plugin that allows people to give a player a rating out of 5. If they are untrustworthy or tried scamming or luring u could rate them a 1 and people know not to trust them. Downside is bots could also be programmed to give people a positive rating too

A friend of mine recently got scammed more or less in one of these quick trade type scams so I'm very happy to see something like this. Even if it can't get her gp back for her, it will keep people from making the same mistake.

Easiest way to solve anti-anti scams is to set all other items to a certain "stack limit". So you dont get garbage

Maybe they could add a tidbit to the plugin to ignore the trade restriction/barrier for clan members/friends

Back In 06 I was scammed for 2MIL GP, back then the wildly was not clearly marked, it just looked like another tile, much like when you go from single to multi combat, TL;DR I was young naive and worked sooo hard for that 2 mil, I was attempting to buy full torags, the guy showed he had it then declined and traded again and before I accepted he moved 3 tiles north, next thing I knew a DD appeared and I was out 2 mil, no torags, and a hard lesson learned, that was the last time I got scammed until someone whom I believed was friend cleaned my bank out a few years later. I feel for all the new players, the game has come such a long way, old school really is the best version of RS.( I still play RS3, sorry RS quits you L0L) Hang in there new players scammers are like cancer man, however unlike with cancer, against scammer you are in control.

You could do a deep dive on RoT and all the ToS they've broken and other scams they've done over the past years. Should be a popping video and good for jagex to get their act together.

I have watched you on RU-vid for years and just now seeing your face lol, like to be able to put a face to a voice!

This is the best video ever for the scammer, some people aren't going to realise that they can just mass buy cheap shit thats overvalued even though its mentioned in this video, they are going to spam accept and the scammer can now just put a shitload of the cheap item in thats way overvalued, the plugin wont take affect and now you're spamming accept thinking youre safe. not only that but without a black-list of items (which would have to be constantly updated) you have no way of knowing if this is going to work or not anymore - now theres the chance he will do an item swap and you'll get fucked so the plugin is practically useless now. You cant risk it either way This dude can make absolute bank from this video if he's smart, SO many people are going to think theyre safe when in reality its more risky then ever. I was thinking about giving this a go but if the scammer has seen this video then I have absolutely no way of knowing if he's started swapping twisted cane for 10,000x some random item that is worth nothing but is valued at 2b, assuming people have the plugin and are now spam-accepting so it doesn't even need to be called "Twisted" anymore because no ones even reading, just relying on the plugin I think its a good plugin to have, but I dont think anyone should try anti-scam still.

Some of the requests in the comments are so they feel safe trying to hunt down scammers. Like bruh, don’t trade them in the first place if you know they’re scammers. You don’t need all that, you’re not KempQ. Download this plugin and play just as safe as you did before

Btw, even without this plugin it’s easy to anti scam these types of scammers. Just remove your twisted bow and accept both trade screens fast. I did this 5 years ago - sometimes you can profit up to 1b+ 🤣

this is a major win from jagex imo it isnt quite the solution needed but its an absolute step in the right direction. i honestly went to ironman because of one of these types of scams back in my early days of osrs

Honestly Kemp, I wouldn't risk my account trading sketchy scammer accounts that probably RWT. Not a good idea with all the bans going around. I know you want to 'get' the scammers, but idk if this is it. If you get scammed in 2024 you deserve it. Probably a life lesson worth more than the osrs gp you'd lose.
