It feels like a weird mashup of Doom 4 and DMC5, and given MGR was very much in the vein of spectacle fighters like DMC, it makes sense.

Beta versions being played in the game probably wouldn’t be as good as the final versions

Yeah, this game is hard to cover for sure. Though sadly I'm not feeling this cover either (Sorry! but I do, and I usually love your covers!). Feels too "fan remix" to me. Repetitive use of "there will be blood" really lessens the impact and really makes it feel fanmade rather than a real song. Like a musician wouldn't likely do it, but a fan would try to get their favorite part in as much as possible, that kind of thing. I think a lot of the "remixing" in the lyrics give it a cheaper feel (like when they mess with the timing or start it but then restart the line again, that stuff), and while the vocals themselves mostly stick close to the original, it sometimes veers off into fan territory (like they wanted it "bigger and louder") so the song sometimes feels more parody than cover (which has its advantages, Jonathan Young does that for meme songs for great effect for instance). I also think the vocals don't sound Doom like at all, they needed a bit of distortion of something. I probably could find more things that don't work for me, but I don't want to sound like I don't appreciate the effort! I knew this game's OST would be the hardest one to "Doomify", but I loved finding out Geoffrey actually worked on the original! Its good, but I think it would probably have benefitted more had it gone a different direction more (like when Geoffrey slowed the song down, that's a great start and really got me excited, but the final version doesn't seem slower or different strangely, it just sounds mostly like the original). So hopefully the next song he covers from this game works out even better!

I had never even played the DLC of MGR, and when I first time heard Hot Wind Blowing in a meme, I immediately thought "wait, I don't recognize this but it sounds like MGR" Awesome track

SECONDING THE HOT WIND BLOWING!! Because it's a DLC track it kinda flies under the radar compared to base OST, but its also so fucking good

Metal gear rising for the xbox 360 is 20 USD on amazon I believe, it is a absolute blast of a game though can seem more like a anime at points. Highly suggested and is the type of game to get really good at and challenge yourself by doing things like not upgrading health and damage and what not, I just beat it on hard only buying unique weapons (there are 3 you get after certain bosses) and skills (things like doing a like, falcon kick mid air toward an enemy) so being alive during bosses was PAINFUL due to lack of damage and health. It was fun though.

I agree, I'd go so far as to say that Sasha doesn't even come close to what Doom vocals offer. Or even MGR

Hi, dude, i'm running tabletop games as well, and noticed your comment. Can you please tell, what mixing systems are you using? I really want to implement dynamic soundracks in my DnD, but I can't find any tools for it. Thank you!

@@meetmeinidavoll7909 (this might be a double reply - I tried to reply earlier and I'm not sure it sent) I use a virtual tabletop called FoundryVTT, and for the sound mixing I use a plugin called "Soundscapes" After some quick googling, I found a program called "Mixere" that looks like it could be used the exact way I use Soundscapes in foundry, if you're doing an IRL game. Could also probably hook it up to a virtual audio cable if you use a different virtual tabletop. As for the specifics of how I do the mixing, I might throw together a quick tutorial video, if that would help you further.
