They did send them the tools to do it, they just have to figure it out. Pretty easy really to do diesel mechanical injection timing.

Also, ditch those 100lb wheels...if they are 20's they are adding the equivalent of ~675lbs of weight to the car when accelerating...should be another easy .3-.4 or more just in that.

I had a 96 12v and went through Power Driven for AFC live (HOLY SHOT YES!!!!) and there ATF which is amazing...these guys are great, used to call them daily to help install. They never said no. America!

It needs more airflow not more boost. Boost is a measure of restriction and bigger turbo flows more air with less boost. Not trying to harp, it’s just annoying to hear the same uninformed opinions year after year.

Soot is the by-product of burned fuel, albeit inefficiently burned. Actual unburned fuel comes out as atomised white diesel mist

Kelton Derkach absolutely! 12 valves really suffer from lack of airflow through the head. Porting the head, better intake elbow (like Pusher or Banks Twin-Ram), bigger intercooler, better exhaust manifold (I like & have used SteedSpeed) all help a lot and bring boost numbers down by removing airflow restrictions. But as you know, that turbo they have on there is a POS and should be the first thing to go. I understand how their channel formula works and this is a budget build, so they’ll go baby steps incremental and blow up this turbo before getting another. With nitrous this turbo might be able to beat that 12-second dually if it’s upper 12’s. Not if it’s in the low 12’s though.

5:20-your throttle on a diesel is connected to the fuel rack which is connected to your “fuel delivery valve”(most people call them P&Bs. Plunger and barrel.). And depending on how old the engine is you might have a electronic governor or a mechanical flyweight governor for idle and WOT.

Great job figuring out the short throttle cable. You're right, you do Need some guillotine method to kill the air supply for runaway, especially on the drag strip.

@@garretlux4850 runaway is caused by it sucking oil fron crankcase....diluted by fuel. It's compression ignition...look it up.

timing is a must to clean up that smoke and it'll give you crisper throttle response. get that housing on there. there's a reason they sent all of those things together.

@@vortexrage3918 they are close but they are moving out of the peak torque range at the higher rpms. A little more gear would allow it to pull harder at a lower rpm in high gear and locked out.

Tip for understanding the 2 diesel fuel pumps - lift pump provides volume, injection pump provides pressure. For runaway concerns, get a CO2 flood system. Just blow CO2 right into the intake.

I love the galaxy project! I know its supposed to have that "rustic" look, but I honestly think cleaning up/organizing the engine bay is an absolute must! It will still have the rustic well used look, it will just be an organized rustic well used look lol

Bigger turbo will clean up the smoke. Really can't run too lean. ARB studs and 100 psi is a beautiful thing!

*ARP* , but who's counting? Yes, good strong head studs are a must, if you're going to start pouring on more fuel and boost on a 12v. Also the dowel pin mod and a bunch more timing to burn up some of that extra fuel (another 15-17 degrees or so should get you in the ballpark). The dyno will let you know for sure! Intercooler and water/alcohol injection will make a big difference also.😉

Might want to look into getting a killer dal pin block off plate because if you start pushing the engine and adding power to it the dal pin will pop out and punch a hole in the side of your timing case. Love the vids keep up the amazing work :)

That's much fuel is over spinning the turbo and the waste can't dump the exhaust well enough. Remove the nitrous, run compounds or a large single.

Does anyone really hate Cleetus? I'll admit, it took me a while to warm up to the channel, but I love how you guys try to make stuff work, and occasionally even do stuff that I think is terribly misguided (like spraying Ruby's original motor with nitrous and methanol straight into the intake on the dyno) but ends up working out pretty decently. Yeah, you may not get everything right the first time around, but you guys aren't afraid to try and learn. This is why I like your channel more than some other channels. You try stuff and see what works and you learn from your mistakes. That's cool shit. That's what I like. And you keep building it better. Hell yeah. I love that you admit when you don't know what you're doing. The majority of keyboard warriors leaving negative comments have never turned a wrench and don't understand what trying something to see if it works is like. If they don't know what they're doing, they cower in a corner and never even try. You guys get your hands dirty and do shit. That's how you learn, people!
