Locals stay in their hood. There are a lot of transplants from Louisiana also. Many of them moved in the 80's and 90's. And yes I love them woods. Atlanta is like the enchanted forest. When new neighborhoods are built they don't clear cut. Trees are left in the back yards.

I cannot believe I stumbled on this video. Your story is sounding very similar to mines. We currently live in Texas, and we have visited ATL in the past visiting family etc. Its not until a visit in 2017 I felt like we needed to be there in Atlanta. Im still trying to convince my hubby so pray for us. It sounds crazy but this might be the confirmation I was looking for. Thank you for this channel and sharing your story!

You all touched on what was on my mind, which is that a lot of folks are transplants. I remember when there was a huge influx of folk moving from here (Chicago) to ATL because jobs were plentiful. I'll be watching because I'm considering moving when I retire in 4 years...including the possibility of becoming an expat.

Healthful Essence and Soul Veg are both black owned and right in the same block. They are all in The West End. Mostly black businesses and all black people coexisting despite their religion or beliefs, really panafrican. Get some bikes and ride the Silver Comet Trail. It goes from Cobb County all the way to Alabama.

You all should check out the State Parks in GA, specifically Amicalola Falls in the North GA mountains. It’s starts the Appalachian Mountains and has a trail that runs from N. GA to Maine! Also, it had the highest waterfall in the southeastern U.S and the beauty of the waterfall and area is stunning! Have you all been to Stone Mountain yet? If not, this will be a great weekend to check it out. Make sure to hike up the mountain! The beauty from up top is to die for. Checkout Vegan Hut in Sandy Springs for another vegan option.

I have made the Tofu Scramble and the eggplant bacon and it was delicious everything you described about them were true. So thank you so much. I can’t wait to make the vegan Mac and cheese girl. I’ve been vegetarian for two years and now vegan for three months and I must say I’m feeling so good and full of energy. Keep coming with the video’s you are helping me and many others so much. Also have you tried the Beyond meat it’s plant based burger patties it’s along side the beef at Target now. You can get them on line also. I saw your video on the impossible burger and thought I ask about the beyond patties.

Im thinking of relovating to Atlanta with my family, do you recommend buying/bulding in the city of Atlanta or a suburb? How's the church scene? My biggest issue is leaving my church home here in NC.

Well, yea it's the south but here's the thing. Atlanta hasn't been the Grady baby city as it was in the mid to late 90s, up until the mid-2000s. Atlanta is fused with people from everywhere. I have family in the Kirkwood, and Edgewood neighborhood. when I visit it seems as if the white folks bought the areas and took away the southern feel away from it. Many of the Black folks ran to the suburbs outside Atlanta. I used to visit Atlanta in my early teens in the 90s. It was a great city. I just heard the city sold the Underground Atlanta landmark. Atlanta is no longer that beautiful southern city at all. Change is always good when needed though. I definitely like Houston better than the Atlanta today anyway.
