Definitely a clean and beautiful place to live. So much to do and lots of options to shop, dine and have fun!!

100 percent agree with everything you said. We just moved here from Los Angeles. Have some friends here who made the move from Los Angeles in 2018. Love the Catalina Foothills and Oro Valley but we bought in Sahuarita due to more bang for your buck. The cave you are talking about is Colossal Cave in the Rincon Mountains. It's worth a visit for sure. A couple cool clubs and restaurants on the outskirts like The Steak Out in Sonoria and The Longhorn in Amado with their cowboy themes. Love the beautiful upscale mall in Catalina Foothills called La Encantada. Some very nice restaurants and shops there. The Hub in Downtown Tucson is also pretty cool. The sketchy areas I've seen...like around Speedway near the 10 freeway. But, compared to skid row in Los Angeles and the uptick in crime in the San Fernando Valley, Tucson is much better. I, too, had no issue with the summer heat. We did have some heavy duty hail during monsoon season. Yes, you have to watch out for wild life and also adjust to there only being the 10 and 19 freeways. However, for me and my family, the pluses far outweigh any negative aspects. I do miss no ocean trips but everyone says it's about a 7 hour drive to San Diego or 3.5 hours to Rocky Point Beach in Mexico. I'm not feeling it safe to drive to Rocky Point. Maybe I'm wrong. If my family demands beach time, we'll just go to San Diego for an extended weekend. And, as you pointed out, Tucson International Airport is very handy for travel. Enjoyed your video, especially the owl footage! Look forward to seeing more of your postings on Tucson.

Thank you so much and thank you for stopping by my channel. We are having a blast so far and my channel will be mostly Tucson and Arizona for some time! I love the desert southwest and have always wanted to live with the Saguaro Cactus. So here we are! Mountain View’s and not as hectic or hot as Phoenix. 🌵 Cathills has been great for star gazing and Mount Lemmon is a blast if we need a forest fix!

@@watchsum09 I recommend Oro Valley, it’s very nice and the crime rates are far below the National Average. Clean, safe, and the views there are great.

I found this video very interesting and informative.I am a retiree living in Maryland,...and my partner and have totally enjoyed all of our trips to the Southwest. We recently spent time in New Mexico,...including Taos and Santa Fe. She and I always talk about moving to that area (Arizona or New Mexico),...but,...an area that has not been ''discovered'' yet,.......which is becoming almost impossible these days,
@travelswithtravis0117
@travelswithtravis0117 Год назад
Thanks for stopping by! I like Santa Fe but it’s out of my price range! Arizona of course got really popular but there are still some quiet areas. There’s some suburbs and outer areas of Tucson that are relatively new or under development. But of course they won’t stay quiet for long I’m sure! Good luck in the search for a home out here!

I travel to Dallas and Houston directly from Tucson. Southwest and American flies directly from Dallas Fort worth and Houston every day. Tucson has more than just Raytheon, Davis Martin, and the university of Arizona. It depends on your profession. From Nursing to Truck Drivers, High tech, Amazon, more warehouses such as Containers, Chamberlain, FedEx, UPS, DHL, Semi Conductors, Bio technology, Pharmaceutical including Ventana Pharmaceuticals, Bombardier, and other Aerospace industries, Catapillar, etc. The list goes on. People who think we have limited jobs here are not looking in the right places. The pay isn't much of a difference from Phoenix either. I lived in Phoenix for 13 years. I am not going into that heat and congestion to live. Tucson has diverse natural beauty. Phoenix is all artificial except in some outlining areas like East Mesa and Scottsdale, etc.
@travelswithtravis0117
@travelswithtravis0117 10 месяцев назад
Agree with ya. Tucson has a lot and I’ve learned a lot since being here. I’m very glad I chose Tucson over Phoenix. More nature and much smaller. Love spending time outdoors and being so close to whatever outdoor activities I want and having a diverse choice of food! 🌵🌵

I live in Tucson and its always easy to put the Southside down and move on. But, there is more then just the negative you pointed it. Tucson is a nice place to live. Granted the Southside isnt the foothills but it has its nice homes as well. But being that you're not a local you wouldn't know it. You want authentic food hit the Southside. You want culture hit the Southside. Not all is negative on the Southside. Again, I get it we don't shine like a knew penny on our side of town. But if you look close enough you'll find a few on the ground. Maybe look for a few. You might benefit from it!

I do know a few people now who live over there. I do wish the city would put some resources into cleaning it up for the sake of the good people over there. Since I moved I’ve delivered pizzas across the west side and there’s always police dealing with things and folks most likely on drugs doing crazy things in the street and on and on. But there’s no doubt you’ll find good food, etc. it’s the unfortunate reality of our world where a small group of people have to cause trouble for everyone else just trying to make a living. If you have any recommendation on eats down that way I’ll make a video about it 👍🏻
@martinamartinez6594
@martinamartinez6594 9 месяцев назад
@@travelswithtravis0117 You totally missed my point but ok. Just for clarification drugs are all over the city. Yes, certain parts are more prominent than others but again all over. Some people are just better at hiding them with money. We do have nice areas on our side of town. Glad you're making friends with people on our side of town. Maybe they'll show you around.

Haha welcome to the area. South Tucson may make you nervous but if you want some good street food, dodging a few bullets is worth the risk. Lol. Learn the backroads, sometimes it may be more miles but will be a lot quicker especially if coming back from the west side.

It’s definitely hot. It doesn’t bother me per se. I know once fall/winter rolls around it’s going to be perfect out! I lived in east of Dallas area most of my life and then Roswell, NM for awhile. I really love the Arizona desert and cactus and all the recreation opportunities it has. I have family in Pennsylvania. Been quite a bit. Really pretty landscapes up there for sure. 😎

Funny you mention the cost of living being low. It has significantly risen to the point where it has become damn near unaffordable for many people here. Rent goes up, but our salaries remain the same. My apartment was $630 a month when I moved into it in 2019. My rent has increased $300 since.
@travelswithtravis0117
@travelswithtravis0117 11 месяцев назад
I understand that. For me it was “cheaper” but for most it isn’t. My sister pays 1500$ for a one bedroom in Dallas. Outrageous. Finding work here was a bit difficult because wages are low. I have to work 2 jobs to keep everything together. I calculated I’d need about 23-25$ to not have to work two jobs. The joys of inflation plus stagnant wages 😎
@koopatroopa187
@koopatroopa187 11 месяцев назад
@@travelswithtravis0117 It ain't even inflation. Inflation is just a convenient scapegoat for their greed. Can't really claim you're adjusting prices for inflation when inflation peaked at 9% last year, is down to 3.3%, and prices are being adjusted 20-40% higher. With that out of the way, welcome to Tucson. Sorry to hear you gotta work two jobs though. Maybe one day the cost of living will go back down, but prolly not when there is zero incentive for landlords and home owners to lower prices.
@travelswithtravis0117
@travelswithtravis0117 11 месяцев назад
Actually I agree with that as well. My last apartment, according to my neighbor who was close to their staff, said they plan to raise rent 60$ every six months. My question was how long are they going to do that before it becomes unaffordable for most? It’s extortion. Unfortunately there in Roswell where we were it was live at that complex and pay or live in the ghetto. There was no other choice.
