We Need More Offroad Simulators Like This! 

Basic guide to off road features in games - Diff locks = Forces either front/rear axle or all 4 wheels to turn at the same speed, will make the vehicle much harder to rotate (understeer) but will allow you to keep moving forwards as long as one wheel has traction. Good for loose surfaces and instances where one or more wheel might be in the air such as when climbing over rocks/logs. Bad for mid/high speed driving where corners are involved and instances where a tight turning radius is required. Low/High Ratio/Range Gears = Most road car transmissions are what are known as high range/ratio and give a good balance of wheel torque in low gears and wheel speed in high gears. Low range/ratio gearboxes basically offer double the wheel torque in low gears but give half the relative wheel speed. High range is good for mid/high speed use, efficiency and reducing wheel spin on loose surfaces, low range is good for when you need maximum torque such as when climbing steep hills or crawling over rocks/logs where force and momentum are more important than speed.

I guess you know this already but just in case, if you hold down the reset button you can rewind your car back. It's useful for scouting long challenges or jsut goof around

as someone who has really enjoyed trail and rock crawling in real life... "what's a locked diff?" "low range.. bah, we just #SENDIT" I'm hearing literally "when in doubt, throttle out" every time the "jeep" red-lines lol and just DYING lmao :D this was so much fun to watch lol

After your last video I loaded up the game, it ran so poorly I had to give up on it, but I know I will load it up again after watching this because your enthusiasm is too contagious

Jimmy diff locked and low range is the chosen settings for that type of terrain. If it's a true SIM (looks good to me) then you should get along better slowing things down and keeping the revs low just picking a good route through. I've got Spintyres but have driven competitions off road and usually the real life choices work in game..

I would actually recommend you try one of the race cars (ETK K or Ibishu Mirimar are both good) on one of the tracks (or for some canyon driving). It's not amazing, but you might be pleasantly surprised.

The Hopper (Jeep) has an inline 6, same as a Supra. But I think the Hopper is carbureted and has no forced induction of any kind, unlike the Supra

The key to off road rock crawling is planning your lines over obstacles VERY carefully. Speed is NOT your friend, as you have to drive in 4Lo like your are in a farm tractor. Slow and deliberate, using your approach angles and ground clearace to navigate. Hence the term "Rock Crawling". Top trucks have final crawling gear ratios (1st gear x transfer case ratio x final drive) of 75:1 to 100:1. I've seen crawl ratios as high as 250:1 on Unimogs. Takes time to figure it all out.😄

Hey Jimmy, press CNTRL + click on any body panel on the car in beam NG to move the vehicle using your mouse. It helps when you flip over and you don't want to reset.

Lock differential makes it to where wheels can’t turn opposite directions. You use lock diff when you’re going through mud or uphill to keep your car straight. That’s also why you don’t use it on hard surfaces because you can damage the differential In the axle between tires

Jimmy, don't worry about over rev damage. It only hurts your motor if you keep it pegged for an extended period. If it just says over rev damage nothing has actually happened yet

Just KEEP THE DIFF LOCKED JIMMY!!! You’re offroading, you want all four digging. I trail drive my Jeep XK. You have to look for the best routes up, not necessarily the fastest way as the bird flies. On the flatter sections you may be able to run open diff to make it easier between obstacles, but you defo want locked up over obstacles. And LOW gears are your friend, both as far as Hi/Lo and 1st-4th (5th? 6?! lol). I know you’re trying for as fast as possible but you have to actually use driving tactics for trail/rock climbing. That’s why when we go offroading, it’s for a full day or even camping for a weekend lol

you should have used low range for about 95% of that track.

If tires are on loose surface (dirt, gravel, mud) keep locked dif on. If on pavement, turn it off. if on solid rock....you can keep it on, if you go straight, but careful with sharp turning.

One thing that any offroad game cant seem to beat is bouncy boulders and slippery slopes

The H next to the speedometer is for high and low low would greatly benefit you as well as locking both difs

If you want some expo on your throttle, you can go into the settings, control settings, then find the mapping for it and there's a graph you can adjust

It took me 25 minutes, but i managed to get a time of 3:53 without damage to the car. First attempt was a 8:01 run with a single roll of the car. I'm not used to rock bouncers as I drive a crawler myself, but this is quite a good representation of offroad driving, except it lacks a terrain simulation and the stock suspension is way to bouncy for a offroader...

When in 4 wheel H.. Or in other words 4 high, that is for traveling over 15mph and low traction situation... 4 Low or 4 wheel L is for under 15mph and when more traction and torque is needed. :) just a helpful hint for ya.. Use L when going up hill at slow speeds and lots of bumps.

It's called Crawling because you do it in Low Range, and virtually never touch the Throttle at all. You did everything wrong and smashed the Car. Feel like sending Andrew Younghusband after you.

If you hold down insert on your keyboard it will rewind to the last/previous location instead of restarting when you wreck, just in case if you didn't know.

If you rolled your car sideways, lock all the diffs, put it in first gear, and point the wheels to the ground. If you spin fast enough, you will upright your car.

You should download the mt akina map and try to get to the bottom in one piece

If you hold down control you can drag the car back onto it's wheels by the frame.

if you want to flip over you can use the node grabber by holding CTRL

Apparently this fellow has never heard of 2nd gear 4L all lockable diffs locked.

When you flip you can use the mouse to grab a node and gently flip it back over

You can use CTRL + your mouse to click a node on the car to reposition it

So, on offroading and lockable diffs Locked diff - same speed on wheels, unlocked diff - different speed on wheels Locked diff = more torque, less handling so, basically that

Completely wrong driving. This driving style called crawling - trailing. The crawling is a very slow driving and is wrong to press full the throttle all the time. In some cases you need throttle and in other cases you must drive slow or very very slow. The crawling is driving sience like the fast races, and must learn the crawling and finf diffrend paths is some cases to pass the very difficult obstacles . Look easy but is not. So first you must learn to drive slow and as the time pass you will understand better and better the crawling and you will understand when you must press full throttle and when little or a little bit of throttle.

You have clutch assistant on. You can turn it off and a few other assists in the gameplay settings.

The spinning on the side is just like Homer when he's trying to see the "insert brain here" Bart wrote on the back of his head!

If you flip over, you can just press Ctrl and on your car appearce things like a dots, and you can drag it by mouse so it gonna force car in that direction I hope it helps and sorry if someone already wrote it here :ь

I broke the rear driveshaft at the 4th checkpoint and was able to finish with front wheel drive XD, took about 16min. not too bad for my first try I guess.

GO SLOW!!! and always keep your diffs locked on this terrain. Also use your low range for tough to climb spots.
