We Need To Respect Kung Fu Panda 3 More 

Yeah when I was excited for KFP4 I rewatched the whole used to be trilogy and I appreciate 3 a lot more. I always thought it was good but I respect it a lot more. Also your DreamWorks speech makes me want to see you do a DreamWorks ranking. It would be interesting if maybe you end up finding more under appreciated movies from them.

Throwing in my own two cents, as much as 3 had it's few misses, it felt more necessary and satisfyingly conclusive to the franchise, cuz if it didn't exist, 2's endinf would have been pretty much a cliffhanger 4 just feels like an uninspired cashgrab in comparison because, from what I gathered, it didn't feel needed as much as 3 was, with the characters being all seen as weaker than their previous incarnations, the villain being so barebones and uncharacteristic, and the fucking Awkwafina lolz character that's made to be super important actually but lacks a lot of substance There's so much 4 could have done to add to the world, but the general public just felt like it was very poorly done Have Zhen be a "Diamond in the Rough" character, have The Chameleon have an actual backstory like maybe she was literally phisically uncapable of learning Kung Fu (more believable than "u small and skinny lol"), and have Po's conflict be something different like a potential fear of losing his friends to their personal lives or aging up without a potential successor But then again, given the behind the scenes of 4, it doesn't surprise me it was such a dumpsterfire of a disaster (by that I mean how much of a negative reaction it had from the public)

3 and 4 are good to me, but good for this franchise is disappointing. I still appreciate them though. 3 closed out the main arc of the previous movies and 4 did kinda work as an epilogue, app having to give up being the Dragon Warrior after he visits a place where no one has heard of him and he has to decide who he is without that. And I feel like I’m the only person who liked Zhen. I liked that she initially was included to circumvent the can only be given rule of the staff, but instead learns from Po the value of selflessness and grows to care about him.

I too think that KFP3 doesn’t get the respect it deserves. Yeah it’s a bit too comedic and it’s not as deep as the other two in certain areas, but at least the spirit is still there and it’s got great animation and probably the best music in the whole franchise. It also felt like a satisfying conclusion to a great movie series. I also agree, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish is simultaneously the best AND the worst thing that has ever happened to Dreamworks, maybe even animation in general after watching this. Besides, I think The Bad Guys is better anyway.
