I tried Notion Calendar for all of 5 minutes. I just don't understand what the point of it is. As you pointed out, it's still a separate app, so if I'm going to use another app for my calendar, I may as well stick with what I already use. Also, my corporate calendar can't sync to it, so it's absolutely a fail for me.
This really does still feel more complicated than I had hoped! I'm going to hold off and keep crossing my fingers that they'll do something that is really more IN the exisiting notion before I switch. But this was helpful to understand how it works a little better than I did before. Thanks.
Could you please review Morgen calendar? I think you'd love it and I'd really like to hear your opinion about it. It solves lots of the problems you mentioned.
So I just looked up that tool and WOW. You’re so right! This looks exactly like what Notion should have done if they were still set on launching a separate app. I can’t believe Morgen is able to do all those things and Notion didn’t figure it out yet!
@@KalynBrookeCo True, and the best part is that morgen has a great Notion integration. You can even choose a number property and Morgen will set it as the estimated time, if you input "1.5" it'll create a task of 1h and 30 m. And if you update the status in Notion, Morgen will mark the task as complete. Btw, your content is great!
Thanks for this overview! I still haven't tried it. I'm very reluctant to add another app, and I also really like my Google calendar and would rather see it integrated. But I do like some of the features you covered, so maybe I'll give it a try. Have you got access to the new "Home" page in Notion yet? I don't, but I'm very curious to see that too!
Hi! I don't seem to have access to that yet. But I have been hearing about it! Here is a newsletter I subscribe to with more info if you are interested: open.substack.com/pub/notioneverything/p/notion-home-and-my-tasks-complete?r=8n5ud&

I did try Notion Calendar, but was not a fan at all. I didn't need another app to have to deal with, which was the reason for going with Notion in the first place. What purpose to use Notion Calendar? I do not see any use for me anyways. I did not like the colors, either. Thanks for the video!
I must admit, I'm relieved with that I'm not the only one who really can't get behind the colors! And I agree. It lacks the persuasion that Notion its self has as a one-in-all app.
I have a problem with this - I have teh Notion Calendar desktop app. Loged in with my second google account ACCOUNT 2. Then added my own google account ACCOUNT 1. And then this happened - for some reason, a person who has shared her calendar for me to see in google calendar in ACCOUNT 1 started seeing everything I added to ACCOUNT 2 - this account did not share anything with her directly, she just started to see the calendar. That is not okay... how to change that?
Hi! I'm sorry you are having this issue! I would reach out to Notion support, as I am not familiar with how their calendar integration works. I went a different route, myself, though I do use Notion for my planning!
Correct! Notion Calendar just didn't work out for me! BUT I did end up leaving GC! Here's my video about that: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ujiYG_-TGrc.html
Can we just talk about the little bun bun in the background? Oy!!!! I have found Notion Calendar to be too cumbersome right at this junction. I was so hoping for more. *sigh*
Haha! I was wondering if anyone would see that little video appearance by Cody. :) Here's to hoping that Notion will make some corrections very soon to this calendar!
I hope notion gives us a more integrated experience. Especially on mobile. Having said that, though, I do love the lock screen, features on mobile and hope that notion itself could have a lock screen feature, and have the page integrated with the calendar, or the calendar event, integrated with the Notion page, and more of the all in one app that we’ve gotten used to. Have not yet seen Notion home anywhere on my iPhone or my Chromebook for that matter. Curious about that it will be very interesting to see what happens next.
Notion has been so good about listening and improving so I'm hopeful! But I guess we'll see. I also don't have the Notion Home anywhere yet. Fingers crossed we'll see that soon.
I have tried it and like you I am reluctant to switch. Have you tried to use the Notion Calendar app on your phone? I enter info in it but it does not get added. I want something that works on my phone and my laptop.
