What also is lacking aswell, is the recording quality of the footage. "The Watch" is a blurry mess. That said, the information presented in the Video coincides the feeling I got while testing the beta myself in the last days.

It’s free to play people nowadays are critical I’ve played it. It’s not bad its actually pritty good 👍🏾 yes it could be better but let’s be honest for a Free to PLAY it’s good not the best but good just stressing free to play not 70 dollars to play and my hats off to descendent for a free to play game that I don’t need to pay 123 or 80 or 70 dollars to play.

Anthem is still the greatest lost potential. The basic fundamentals of that game (movement and combat) were absolutely paragon. They felt amazing and so fresh in this genre. Too bad the devs dropped the ball on literally everything else. What a joy it was to simply fly around in that game. I loved how seamless movement and combat were together. If another dev team comes around and even replicates some of it, they can take my money.

Warframe was a miracle and had a good foundation and a solid game at launch. This is Nixon too, so... we know the rest. The longer and more resource they "waste" the more p2w it will be - and u can bet it will be p2w like all of their games. This isn't going to be some Hello Game redemption arc from the looks of this vid

Anthem isn't bad tho... People just like boring non skill trash like destiny that they don't play games that r actually fun... U can't even equip and exotic in every slot... Literally the only game that doesn't allow u too use whatever u want smh.. Destiny is meh at best. Only reason people even play destiny is because they wasted time and money on it.

@@subzero308 Anthem wasn't great and the only part most people found interesting was the flying being fun and being Iron Man-esque. The gun designs were almost all the same with tarps draped over them the campaign was so bad they forced you to do busy work to get through a door,the bugs,the servers all combined into an awful mess. Not to mention the behind-the-scenes where the devs didn't even know what the game was going to be until months before as corporate heads kept coming in and asking for changes.

It's a Korean game, and that means great graphics and production values, so-so gameplay, insane grinding, outrageous in-app purchases (which expire in time), repetitiveness ad nauseam, familiar designs suspiciously similar to certain Japanese or western titles, and beautiful female characters which would make any western developer choke and die in disbelief.

That's our goal with these things. Critically analyze a game at a systems level. If those don't hold up, the rest of the game won't either. Hopefully they strongly consider a lot of this feedback.

Its asian F2P meaning it is shit already. Any good part of the game will be overshadowed by miriad manufactured problems that will stop you and force you to pay up paypiggie. Go check out games like Darktide

Definitely looks very early Warframe adjacent in terms of gameplay. Lots of good points brought up here in terms of pain points. As you said, the moment-to-moment gameplay in an action looter shooter is paramount and it seems like they've done a pretty good job in that department thankfully. I'm a sucker for any action game that involves loot and numbers going up with colored rarities (think Diablo or Destiny) and I'm hoping Nexon doesn't mess this up.

@@enkidumag no it's actually more similar to warframe than those games in that the gear is modifications rather than pieces of armour that visually changes your character - you control named characters with set abilities (aka warframes); much closer to warframe when you actually consider the details

Having played the open beta for the past few days, I can see that this kind of feedback had a big impact on the state of the game today (kudos to you and the developers) I hope there will be another video after the beta test period, because while they addressed, and improved, many of the things you touched on, they're a few more things they need to get right.. but the game is definitely better now than it was when you guys made this video.. so again, thanks 👍🏾

Thank you so much for being honest about the game. I was skeptical about what the beta experience could potentially be like once it dropped, and hearing an unfiltered take from someone with hands-on experience was definitely something that I needed to listen in on. Destiny 2 and Warframe are two of my most played games so I am very anxiously awaiting for this game to finally be released to the public, and having watched this is a huge help to aim where my expectations should be. So big thanks from me.

This looks awesome, yeah sure there’s a fair amount of issues that affect the game and gameplay, but this is only its beta, and what you were given to play. Once they hear everyone’s feedback as long as they listen, this game will most likely end up on my favorites. Also you did a really good job with the review, most people are usually super biased and have a lot of irrelevance but you did good here. Liked and subbed

The other problem here is since it's Nexon (this also applies to companies like NCSoft), they might just decide it's not worth the effort in 6 months if it's not immediately hitting whatever internal metrics fast enough and pull the plug, wiping your progress.

For a beta looter shooter, its a pretty good start honestly. That being said first impressions are important and can be the turning point for a lot of players who are playing simply to check it out. They really need to work on the mission design, and movement capabilities, otherwise it will be a chore to run and slowly grapple to a mission you already know you don't want to do. That also being said, this is just the beginning, so be brutally honest AND kind.

It is huge proplem if they sell runes or any materials to update runes etc.. because runes are power and warframe have player trading this dont. So Nexon P2W game basicly? 😁

I'm a Veteran of shooter/looters. Just got a Steam notification for this. I found your video honest and helpful. I will be giving it a go with an open mind. It's a tough community - Warframe, Destiny, Red Dead Online, ESO etc. Players analyse gameplay very quickly.

A common critique I've heard among first impressions is low enemy density. Destiny 2 had the same issue with not having enough enemies, after they basically tripled the amount, the game became a hell of a lot more fun. Hopefully the developers listen to these first impressions and make these changes

they could still use more enemies in strikes and some other activities. We have builds that can pretty much 1 shot a big group rather easily and there's still strikes with like 100 enemies.

@@ItalianMetalHED it definetly was, you could even see that after beyond light the expasion that started the trend of higher enemy desity, we saw a lot of problems with performans and teleportimng enemies, this was later fixed but definitly shows the hardware/engine architechtural challanges tied to higher enemy density.

There aren't enough people voicing concern and apprehension that Nexon is releasing yet another F2P game. Nexon is the king of starting with free games and then gradually morphing those games into predatory pay-to-win monstrosities. With them involved it's not a question of "if" that will happen, but "when."

as someone who has played alot of different looter shooters i am excited about this game, but also worried its going to be too similar to other games of its type. it looks as though its trying to be a mix between warfame and destiny without too much cohesion or interest, warfame is one of my fav looter shooters due to how every weapon functions differently, you have shotguns but one can shoot a grenade while another shoots out an exploding spear. i feel what will make this game a lot better is making it so all the weapons work a little different from the others, make it so one smg shoots faster then the others but has lower dmg, higher mag cap and also harder to hip fire, while another one is slower, harder hitting but with a smaller mag and more stable aim from the hip. small changes like that will make it feel better but also allows for a lot of different weapons they can make and higher creativity. i want too see this game turn into its own little sub genre of looter shooters, not a warframe clone or a destiny one, something that stands out and caches your attention not just with cool looking guns and massive enemy's

If they can get the end-game right, like say destiny 2 has, then this could be an incredible game with it having a solid gameplay foundation to build on, and as other games have shown, it doesn't have to launch with all the bells and whistles as long as they don't take too long to get it right.

As a warframe player i see 2 familiar mechanics : arcanes & forma systems. I don't mind the flatout buffs as long as the wpns will have a noticed impact with the character and vice-versa What made warframe actually shines is the partner program or guides of the lotus which made the game more understandable and kinda fun even with the grind, hope Nexon consider it too.

I find that almost every system is a direct copy from Warframe, with the reset mechanic from MU, and giant bosses like BDO, but the only exciting part are the huge bosses. Oh wait, Warframe have those too with the Eidolons and Profit Taker, so yeah, it's Warframe but bad. Graphics are great tho.

@@flightlesscoffeebirdboy9655 Mostly spend grinding Eidolon more than PT . Got the hang of Terry in 50+ tries and then 30+ tries in Garry then 30+ more in Harry . Good thing I left Eidolon since its a toxic place to play , I was competitive in Eidolon hunting .

@@namzaysedwards2350 If you can one shot the Eidolon you can kill a Void Angel in SP, it's not hard, you just need a good amp, Madurai, and 2 best in slot arcanes for the amp. It's really easy with a normal build for Revenant and using Xata's whisper and the Felarx. Edit: btw you're right the only fight that need a lot of preparation is actually the Eidolon even in 2022.

It sounds like the game has a really solid base and just needs about a year in development to add a few critical systems (it's a shooter; cover NEEDS to be important even if it's implemented like Destiny), add bulk to the leveling process and smooth out some issues. I'll keep an eye on this one!

Well this game looks like it took quiet a inspiration from warframe. the 3rd starter character ajax is like Volt in warframe with shield. his shiled deployment animation is like Banshee silence. i would love to get my hands on when it releases.

100% agree on your take. Story has to be meaningful to grab a lot of people and the world should definitely feel more “alive.” Guns need some unique perks, kind of like how Destiny does. I’m still cautiously optimistic about this title. I do hope they take the constructive criticism to heart and iron out those issues. Looks fun!

Anyone remember this 3rd person Shooter game, Zombies Mechs & robots, ZMR? I swear this looks like it, polished. I REALLY hope they listen to these concerns because the game could POTENTIALLY be really good. With there being no official release date, this will be the best time for them to fix the issues, do ANOTHER beta, fix those issues, do a FINAL beta, then plan for release. @@lightnbrightt yeah, everything can be gained free in WF (except certains skins, ofc) , but you need to open wiki on 2nd monitor all the time XD. unless people do that, people will be compelled to spend premiums to progress not knowing how to farm it. thankfully warframe wiki is very extensive and updated with all details & necessary info , unlike many other games.

"There is a lot of room for added depth" Just from this review / early look alone I'd say (assuming the devs can fix alot and expand) this has the potential to be a top 10 Looter Shooter. Maybe it's just me, but I see a space where Anthem utterly failed and is waiting to be taken. Hopefully they fix and expand on this game. Looks to me as though it could fill that slot that Anthem so sorely left unfulfilled. Amazing review / early look, ty

Top 10?? This genre barely supports 5 games at a time and really theres only 3 relevant ones, Deep Rock Galactic, Warframe and Destiny2 All other looter shooters have been massive flops and became irrelevant in months

@@sarntrex5776 it aint about liking, its about relevance There arent 10 good looter shooters in the market in total anyway Like Outriders is a cool and enjoyable game but its not a relevant looter shooter and same goes for basically any singleplayer ones as well Remnant from the Ashes is a masterpiece, still, not a relevant lootershooter And borderlands...exists i guess? We wish it didnt, but hey. I'm glad at least some people are making the obvious comparisons to Warframe that are pretty undeniable to anyone who's played it. The interesting thing about comparing the premium currency between this game and Warframe is...will First Descendant have trading? I can collect rare stuff in Warframe, trade it for premium currency and get anything else I want for doing whatever activity I want. I'm gonna go out on a limb and predict First Descendant will not have trading, but...if it's going to pull inspiration from Warframe's modding, polarity and capacity systems, maybe it will. In any case, it would be really smart to allow First Descendant players to trade gear between each other for premium currency. It goes a VERY long way making the monetization more ethical and LESS required to pay real money.

I think it is unfair to compare any free to play games monetization to warframe's honestly. Sure people still bought enough to keep the company afloat but only barely. Hopefully it isn't pay to win but maybe skins? The problem with this is warframe wasn't making as much as people thought they were.

Digital Extremes leaves a ton of money on the table other free to play games likely make due to allowing trading and radiant sharing relics to make Prime farming easier and such. Which, as I said, kinda makes the monetization they do have, even in the form of buying gear outright and Prime Access and such, more ethical. Maybe not perfectly 100% innocently ethical, but moreso. There have been observations that First Descenant's crafting will have wait times, so possible that their premium currency will allow for rushing like Warframe does. Like I said, if they're going to copy as much from Warframe as it looks like they are, that may extend to the monetization.

This game has potential. Look how raw Warframe looked when it came out and there was such a small amount of weapons / warframes / missions / enemy types / mods. Everything. They just need time before writing off.

dont care too much about the lack of story..its a beta, so they might be saving the story for launch of the game, but the other things you mentioned might be game breakers, like lack of variety in the open world, missions being bland and repetitive. but i still might keep it in mind since its free to play

I hope there is an improvement to the leveling - questing experience and the worlds feels a little bit more alive. If they fix these i can see this game going along way. The gameplay looks amazing.

I agree with a lot of the bullet points made during the video. They could of thought the entire system out. Lots of adjustments and gameplay changes need to be made to turn this into a true diamond in the rough

This game is amazing! I hope they dont go the pay to win route and i can see this game blowing up and going to head to head with destiny and warframe. Its simple and grinding is relaxing instead of making it like a chore. Overall, this if this game just continues as it is without monetization being pay to win, this game will 100% be as succesful as destiny2 and warframe.

no cover system is a double-edged sword. if done properly, it can add a lot to the game like gears of war. but if done poorly, it can sour the gameplay like in outriders.

My first impression of the game is literally Division all over again. I am a sucker for looter shooter so I will definitely try out this game myself. However, I agree with all you said about its drawbacks. Division also have the same problems of limited gameplays during leveling and will get only good once you reach endgames (specific builds/playstyles/specs/etc.). I hope the devs will be more attentive to the game. Overall I love the gameplay so far and wish it would prosper in the future.

Missions needs some randomness. Puzzle structures. Switch activations. Bonus objective enemies. Time limited enemies, or timed spawn special enemies that change the objectives or outcome(Think Dynasty warriors-ish). Randomness. The missions need variety and randomness
