It's a motorcycle! Now that we have an engine in frame and wheels on, this thing is beginning to look like a legit motorcycle. And a sweet one at that! We bolt the frame on the engine, lay the wiring harness on, attach the forks, mount and balance tires and attach the wheels and swingarm....buckle up!
Here are the tools/supplies I actually used in this video:
Loctite LB 8012 (for drive splines): not on amazon, source where available

My back is hurting watching that engine being moved! Looking forward to seeing the seat on. I think that’s what makes it a motorcycle?
@two-cargarage
@two-cargarage Год назад
That's a good thought, if you can't sit on it and ride it it's certainly not a motorcycle!

Koalas are not bears. They are marsupials
@two-cargarage

Hmmm... I'm not so sure. They are called koala BEARS, after all. 😂

Educational lesson courtesy of E’s favorite Sunday morning helper 😊. She and I both enjoyed getting an inside look at your work!

Koalas got the name koala bear whenever new settlers came by and compared their appearance to a bear cub. Marsupials are an infraclass of mammals. Both koalas and bears are mammals. The fact they are marsupials doesn't change much. The word mammal comes from the root mamma, which translates to breast. Marsupial comes from the root marsipium, which roughly translates to pouch. So technically, yes, they are not bears, but what we decide is a bear is a matter of naming, so if we all decided to call them koala bears, there isn't a whole lot to prove that wrong.

If peeing your pants is cool, consider me Miles Davis! The bike is looking sick! Can't even remember what it used to look like. I'd love a montage video when it's all done.

I’m also going to use a 2nd gen rear wheel. Did you use the stock 140 wide size tire? I’d like to try the 150 wide like some have but concerned about clearance.
@two-cargarage

I went with the 150. The only repercussions are that you have to install the rear wheel simultaneously with the brake and drive hubs. Also, you'll have to cut off the small bracket on the inside right of the swing-arm.

@@two-cargarage ok thx for those tips and guidance. I installed a Hayabusa front end on mine but didn’t realize how short they were. It only gave me 2 1/2” of ground clearance at the engine. So I mounted a 120/90-17 front tire and that gave me 3 1/2” ground clearance total with no rider. There are fork extensions for the Busa but are pricey. Just wondering what front end you are using and what your ground clearance is? A quick online check of a few sport bike ground clearances shows approximately 5”. Back to the 2nd gen rear wheel 15”, which is smaller than the stock 16” of course, will only hamper my attempt at gaining ground clearance. I may have to stay with the stock rear wheel for now until I find a solution. Love your videos on this build. Can’t wait for the next one.
