@@KJandSarah ok that is great. You will have a great time. Here are some not so obvious recommendations besides the obvious (Ann Frank, v Gogh, canal tour): - a must do is one that is actually outside Amsterdam (not to far though, only a 15 minutes train journey): go to Zaanse Schans with all the typical dutch things: cheese, clocks (the wooden shoes), windmills many windmills in a typical dutch setting. Easily done by train. You could combine it with Zaandam Intell Hotel. - weather permitting: do a bike tour. If you feel for a great bike day trip, cycle to Zaanse Schans (1 hour one way) - weather permitting; explore the canals of Amsterdam by renting a 'sloep' (boat without cover). You can bring your own picknick with you and it is a great way to see the city. - try some of the local cuisine at Albert Cuypmarket...like stroopwafels (sorry Sarah it is not glutenfree; by the way DON'T go to the famous van Wonderen stroopwafels as it is 1 not authentic 2 you wait in line far too long and 3 it is way too expensive), or raw hering (with onions and small pickle). There are some nice bars in the area as well and if you decide to have a drink combine it with bitterballs (although it won't be glutenfree again...). By the way, I found a dutch website with some gluten free hotspots in Amsterdam: www.bartsboekje.com/glutenvrije-restaurants-amsterdam/ (just google the name for the location 😉) - do try some of the snacks out of a vending machine at for example FEBO - BOLS museum; cocktail and gin museum that has a cocktail included in your price and you can learn how to become Tom Cruise from the movie Cocktail - a couple of places in Amsterdam North are nice to visit as well: take the free ferry to for example ADAM lookout (from the top floor you have a nice view of the city centre), or NDSM a ship wharf now more a artistic area. If you would like to see things outside of Amsterdam consider going to Utrecht (beautiful centre), Rotterdam (biggest port of Europe), The Hague (Parliament and the International Court is here) with the beachtown Scheveningen, Efteling (our most famous themepark) or Giethoorn.
