Some of that money is VERY well spent. For instance, investing in Ukraines defense will be the best defense investment any of us EVER make in our lifetime. Consider the damage Putin has done to global supply chains. Food. Fuel. Any manufactured commodity is now so much more expensive because of his stupid war. The average american taxpayer has paid $250/year to support ukraine (for us Canadians its $150). Putin's affect on your yearly food costs is likely 10x greater than that. This is what happens with supply and demand. We exported so much over the last two years that it left shortages on our own shelves. Prices went way up.

I personally don't care if Biden was referring to trump's supporters. Trump has said sooooo much worse about so many people, and his supporters cheer him on without batting an eyelash. Taiwan and Perto Rico both are important islands to US, are under certain history connection after WWII, and have no votes to American presidential campaign, but Taiwan stands at the front line for democracy countries and faces authoritarian/totalitarian/autocracy, Taiwanese stand up for themselves with GDP ranked 21 in 2023 in the world, w/o china's suppress, Taiwan can be in G20 which will be a benefit to all the free countries in the west.
