We can hardly believe a month in Denmark has come and gone. We returned to Denmark this year to take a break from a faster (than usual) travel pace this year which took us from Italy via the Western Balkans on a whirlwind 4-month journey. As always, when you return to a place which provided so many good memories, one cannot help but feel anxious that this time it would be different. And it was, but in a good way. We treasured our time in Denmark and we're already looking forward to our return next summer.

Welcome! We’re Andre and Lisa. A married South African couple who has been travelling together for almost 20 years, to more than 50 countries. In 2017 we took stock of our life, made the decision to 'retire early' and gave up our professional careers and all our personal possessions in order to explore the world as full-time nomads. I love your videos, and your love for Denmark. Next summer come to the east coast of jutland, Fredericia, vejle, Aarhus, Mariager, Mols bjerge, Ebeltoft, Ry and Laven.. they are my favorite places! If you go to Fyn again, fo the drive between Fåborg and Svenborg, ferry to Ærø and back via Langeland😁 We got stuck in DK the summer of 2020 and ended up spending 3 months caravanning through our own country and fell in love with it❤ Ps, there is a really great parking spot in the forrest right south of Aarhus, by Kajakklubben Viking.. always a few other campers, but the location and nature is super for swimming and your morning runs😊.. midt May and June are my favorite months in dk, i feel like it always starts raining once we hit July😅

I'm surprised at how taken you both are with Denmark. It seems that Denmark suits you guys. Someone should have told Lisa, no yelling in Jelling ;-) I love the way that Lisa gets so excited when she notices Millie in the background of a clip that she is taking. She really likes that makeover ! The paint job that you are doing will also preserve Millie a bit better I'm sure. I love your colour choices, she looks so slick. I'm very impressed with your work ethic, the prep work before painting is no joke. I'm sure it was nice to meet friends and share an evening in what looked like an idyllic park-up. Looking forward to the next video, safe travelling.

Guess it has a lot to do with the 'feeling' of openness and the laid-back vibe. The other obvious drawcard for us is we battle with 'where to go' during July and August. In a motorhome it's tough to cope with excessive heat and on top of that you find holiday makers filling up every nook and cranny. Unless you go into a major city or town there's never much traffic in Denmark and the rural parts are fantastic for cycling or running. Yes, some people find it a bit 'boring' due to the flatness but there's plenty of interesting parts to explore. Oh and there can be good wind for kitesurfing 😂

Ahhhh guys, we bloomin love your films and your enthusiasm for Denmark is infectious. Funny how time passes and we were saying the same last summer! Millie looks stunning by the way 😍 😃 A shame Lisa's leaving 😉 not sure you'll find a suitable replacement Andre 😮😄 maybe let her have a second chance!!! Hi. Bonjour Exact... More than 20 years ago we stay 3 weeks in Denmark with our old French J9 Peugeot... Already a peculiar large van self made.. Spaces by the sealooks very much the same, nice free spot to spend tbe night... Except near Copenhagen where you have to go to camping places.... Sweden and Norway look very beautiful wild and tolerant for free camping in the nature.... 😊Bonnes vacances....

Last year in Copenhagen we stopped at the marina parking at Amager Beach and cycled around from there. It was great. Thanks for your comment!

During my years as a working man (now 75), my Union had a summerhouse (of really many, all over Denmark, for the members), which I managed to be able to rent several times! I was in the first line behind the dunes over here on the coast. And as a Craftsman's Union they did know what quality to buy in houses! Really a nice area for a vacation. Now I have vacation all the time, but I'm no longer a Union Member, though I did continue as a Senior for several years (And still with a right to apply for a rent of a house, but only out of season). So sadly I can't apply for it any more. Finn. Denmark

Nice spray job on the van it is looking good. we are thinking about doing ours soon as its getting tired looking. These old vans often rust where the rain runs down windscreen onto battery tray in the engine bay, it is easy to remove battery tray and treat it with some anti rust paint/spray then fresh paint. The area to watch is underneath battery on front passenger side panel and the front cross member bar that supports radiator they tend to trap water and does not drain causing it to rust from within, these are easily replaced, with mine I caught it before it rotted out, sanded it back and treated rust. Safe travels

Thanks for the tips! I'll have a look at those areas. When we did the paintwork I discovered a nasty rust spot on the cab - back bottom corner behind the right door. Will have to sort that out asap.

That sounds like a jacking point and inner sill, something that needs to prevent getting worse for sure as these are more trouble to fix unless you are good at welding. Hope it all turns out a simple fix @@WeWillNomad

Climate change is no doubt terrible for Southern Europe in the summer months, with forest fires and ridiculous and dangerous heat, but for Denmark it's just responsible for an extra month of pleasant summer weather, which is a good reason to spend your summer vacation up north.

Denmark is nice ,but it is so expensive. Even you can camp for free. I am Danish, but living in Spain, the living cost is 160 % over EU avriges. A meal at a disent restaurant with a low bottle of wine is 80-100 €

Yes it's crazy expensive. Especially compared to Spain. We definitely cannot afford going to a restaurant in Denmark. But we enjoy visiting the countryside.

I have started to see all your videos from Denmark. I like that you go places where tourists usually don't go, but great you also got to see Copenhagen. I was surprised you didn't get caught with that two-seater bike, that is clearly not allowed in Denmark. And cycling on Strøget is not allowed too! 😂

Yeah we've been called out on all our illegal behaviour in Copenhagen already 😁 while Kitesurfing at Amager beach I even got reprimanded for going to close to the beach🤦Thanks for your comment. Hope you enjoyed our videos so far. We really like Denmark ❤️

😄 It's hard not to be enthusiastic about a place when you enjoy it. But we understand what you say. It's not so easy nowadays to keep places 'secret'. Besides, we find ourselves vastly outnumbered by visitors from your neighboring country - who seem to be almost everywhere already. 😬

Sorry if this the wrong place to ask, but I don’t where else to. Did your motorhome come with the solar panels or did you have them installed? If so, where?

Hi Dave. Unfortunately, our motorhome had no solar panels and not even an inverter when we got it. We went for a type of 'split' system using an Ecoflow powerbank to run our electronics which can charge directly off solar. The house battery only runs the lights and waterpump and has its own solar charge controller. We have 3 flexible solar panels on the roof now which provides power to these. We did not change anything of the original electric installation but if we did not have the Ecoflow I would change the house battery to LifePO4 battery and add a B2B charger. If you travel slow like us you can't ever have enough solar. We did everything ourselves as it's so simple. Hi Lisa and Andre I enjoy watching your videos also Millie is looking good now you have done a great job. When you put a extractor fan over the hob was it a 12v or a 240v ? As I'm looking to do the same thing in my van.

Hi Thank you! We fit a 12V fan above the hob. But it's not powerful enough and unless you can find a high speed, high volume 12V rather go for 240 and connect it to your inverter. We'll have to change ours as well.

During World War II, the German occupation forces built 7500 bunkers in Denmark. Although Denmark declared itself a neutral party at the outset of World War II, a few months after the start of the war Germany began occupying Damish territory. Germany’s interest in the Danish territory was strategic as it was intended as a base to better attack Norway.
