I think Louis is talking to Claudia here, but Dreamstat is showing he's not as committed to her as he's proclaiming. He's acting like he's only going to prioritize her now (and really wants to), but there's still a part of him that won't let go, just like she pointed out earlier. He might even be talking to himself a little as well: he's promising her it's just the two of them, and pressuring himself to follow it at the same time.

I like that season 2 is different. But the whole first episode I kept thinking "If ya'll had listened to your White Daddy, you'd be living it up in Buenos Aires " 🤣🤣

That's interesting. Would they all be in Buenos Aires? It makes me wonder if Lestat would've turned Antoinette. Would he have tried to get rid of Claudia and put Antoinette in her place? I really don't know. 🤯

I've never been completely sure, but I think Lestat knew killing Claudia would have broken Louie (which is why he brought her back the first time), so Idk if he would've killed her. But with Lestat, you never know. And we know Antionette and Louie would've never worked. They both don't want to share

That lady vampire literally tossing herself has me dead every time I see it 😂😂😂 I keep remembering that Lestat told a similar story about his creator Magnus ending himself the same way and it makes it all the more cartoonish. But man, coming to Europe at this time maybe wasn't the best idea. And i love how the dreary atmosphere matches the decrepit state of the vampires we do see, really showing why Lestat was living his best life as soon as he settled in New Orleans

The announcement of change of actor in a play is done all the time in theatre. And where are we going next? To the THÉÂTRE!!! *Santiago dramatic pose* 😂😊 I loved it, it's such a nice detail and it will give theatre folks a chuckle.

I like that Claudia is played by two different actresses it makes Louis' story more fanciful than factual, besides both are crushing this most coveted role of one of the most tragic characters of Ann Rice's Vampire Chronicles.

He's lying to himself, that's for sure. But he desperately wants it to be true. So when he's saying it he's not lying to her, not in that moment. But his subconscious mind, which for now is manifesting as his "boo thing", knows the truth. That he refuses to accept.

I think Louis sincerely wants to mean the "me and you" speech to Claudia. I think he keeps repeating it to himself hoping to talk himself into it. But ultimately, maybe even subconsciously, I think he is talking to Lestat. On a lighter note, I'm so glad that you are back! You make me laugh like no other.

I was thinking Louis didn't make the me and you speech but Claudia did. But on second thought Louis saying it makes the later betrayal more tragic and something he'd want to repress. I'm also thinking Louis is the one who asked Armand to help him forget, rather than Armand being malicious per se.

I can see that. But I do think Armand is keeping a secret. I'm not sure if it's to protect Louis or his secret from Louie. But I do think he has feelings for him and probably doesn't want to lose him because of it. Idk the actors are so good. I just gotta keep looking for more clues.

What "betrayal"? Because if you're talking about what happens to Claudia, then Louis REALLY had no choice in that matter. And if you're talking about Louis actually falling for Armand, that's not a betrayal. He's not doing anything that she herself isn't doing. And that's seeking a companion. Aka a 'lover'. Someone just for her, who's love is just for her. Which she's actively trying to find too... So if you're going to try and say that Louis seeking a partner and finding one, is somehow the "betrayal" you're talking about, then she should get the same treatment for all that she has done and will do to him. So what "betrayal" are you referring to *(without giving any real spoilers away, as I don't want to spoil anything for Shalaya 😉)* But about the "Me and You, You and Me" speech. He's definitely saying it to Claudia. He's just lying to himself, and that's why DreamStat or HalluciStat is there as well. That's the part of Louis' subconscious that knows what he's saying just isn't true. Because Claudia literally can't be 'enough' for Louis. He's gay and not a pedo, so she can't be his companion. In that sense... The only one Louis can really say that to, and it be the truth, is Lestat. But he's trying so hard to convince himself of that, because she needs it to be true and he desperately wants it to be true. But it's not true, and can't be true for either of them, because he's not "enough" for her either. He's literally not Vampire enough to be a proper companion to her. So they're both desperately clinging to eachother, because at the moment it's all either of them have. She needed to hear those words, as much as he needed to hear them. And they BOTH know it's not true. And that's just an unfortunate truth for both of them.

That's actually sad. I honestly just wish she had a happier ending. But I can understand how ppl think Louie moving on with Armand as a "betrayal." Honestly, I can see both sides. I didn't think Claudia found Madeleine until she thought Louie was leaving her (but I could be wrong). So I always looked at it as a reaction to being hurt by Louie. But I can see him not being enough of a Vampire for her. I do think Claudia would've been happier with someone she could "hunt with" who didn't judge her. I'll just have to see how the series plays it out. Because I'm not sure if they're going to change a few things. I want to see how everything plays out to get a better perspective on it.

@shalayahomebodytv Me too. I'm not even a fan of Claudia, as a character. But what happens to her in the book destroys me, every time I read it. In the book, and now the series, the way its playing out is Claudia "finds" Madeline first, but in the book she forces Louis (or pressures) him to turn her, only after she realizes that Armand is pulling Louis away from her. But even after he gives her Madeline, as her companion he still stays, for her. Until... well. I think that's where we're gonna get the line from one of the trailers, where Louis shouts "you left ME". Because in reality, Claudia is the one who has a problem sharing Louis with anyone else. Louis was capable of loving both Lestat & Claudia. She couldn't accept it and wanted him only for her. In the book at least, same thing happens with Armand. Louis can love Armand AND her, but she can't accept that either. Even when she has another. We'll see what they do with the show though, cause it can go literally any way. So far how they've adapted the books, is masterful. And I'm not surprised at all. They're doing an amazing job at essentially telling the same story, while having it be so different 👏🏽🙌🏽 And the reason why I personally don't see it as a betrayal, is that no 'child' can be everything to their parent, and they shouldn't be. No parent should make a "partner" of their child. So unless you're asexual/aromatic (like me 😉) every person needs and deserves a partner, aka a lover. It's a wild thing, to expect Louis to just be celebrate and not seek out a partner. To just sit in the corner, for whenever Claudia decides she wants his companionship. Just like she needs and deserves a partner, and he finally finding someone wouldn't be a "betrayal" to him. He should be allowed that too. Without it being treated like he's leaving her for him. His entire existence does not and should not revolve around her and her needs, to think it's a betrayal for him to seek out his own happiness and companionship, while still being there for her is just so sidewards to me. He shouldn't be treated as an accessory to her.

To answer your question I think Louis is talking to both but hes trying to convince himself and Claudia that he chooses her when in his heart hes talking to Lestat but doesnt want to be. Also I feel you and I are the only ones to catch him using his sisters photo, or atleast no one has said anything unlike you so awesome.

The way I practically screamed, when I got this notification!! 👏🏽Sorry if this gets too long, definitely delete it if you don't want essentially an essay in your comment sections, no harm done at all 😉 But I wanted to essentially react, as I'm watching your reaction; First up, the title card for Delainey is essentially what they'd do in a real theatre play. I think that's what they're going for. My guess is, it's a subtle reminder that this is all one big theatrical 'show' that these Vampires are putting on, for themselves, eachtoher, Daniel and definitely us. ESPECIALLY this season, because it's Armand. And... not Louis and definitely Claudia, experiencing the consequences of *their own actions.* -- What happens to them both, in Paris. Lestat tried to tell them, as much as he could. She didn't want to believe him, simply because it was him saying it. And look where that gets them both 😬🤷🏽‍♀ About Sam, I know others have already said. But that is definitely his real voice, just not his real accent. I assumed you meant accent, but just in case. Wanted to throw it out there, Sams voice in any accent is insane. And the fact that he can legitimately sing 🙌🏽 Also "I can't get hot in the pants[...]" 🤣👌🏽 That was a bat that came out of his neck, and just some fun facts, in a deleted part of that scene, Lestat actually plays in his neck wound, like he's playing an instrument. And sings while he's doing it. I for one, would have loved to see it. As grotesque as it no doubt would have been. "YOU ARE IN DANGER!!" 🤣🤣 "COME ON CLAUDIA! PULL YOUR WEIGHT BITCH!!" and "Ten feet HO" Absolutely hilarious 🤣👌🏽 I want to leave it off with... in the carriage scene, the hardest scene for me to watch, in this episode. But yeah, he was talking to Claudia, and actively trying to ignore the fact that he's seeing Lestat there. Hopefully people don't misunderstand or forget. Lestat is not actually there. Lestat is the embodiment of Louis' own subconscious. Lestat is the only one that would make those words true, for Louis. But Louis desperately wants and needs it to be true. Claudia needed to hear it in that moment, and Louis needed to say it to her. He needed to say it to himself too. So he's talking to Claudia, his subconscious mind however (aka hallucistat/dreamstat) knows it's simply not true. Everyone in the room knows it's not true, but Louis himself can't accept the truth, so he's lying to himself and that's why his subconscious is looking at him like that. And why Louis actively tries to not pay attention to it.

I love long comments. I'll never delete lol. I was talking about the accent, i love his french accent, i cant believe it's not real, and I didn't know he actually sung too! Jack of all trades, lol. I honestly wonder if Lestat (the real one) will appear soon or if we're gonna get dreamstat the whole time. And it's true Lestat tried to tell them about Paris, but by that time, there was already a big rift between them. I wish he had been more open about his past or seemed more sincere. Then maybe they would've listened. I feel bad for Claudia because she's just looking for a place to call home. I've always felt bad that she felt left out and alone. Especially when seeing Louie and Lestats' relationship. Who wouldn't feel like the third wheel.

@shalayahomebodytv Okay phew, I always feel bad when I leave really long comments. Feel like I'm bogging down the comment section. But this show has such a choke hold on me, I can't help it 😅 And I will say, without spoiling anything... if they choose to bring I think it's the 6th book 'The Vampire Armand', and combine it with this one. Then we'll definitely be getting the real Lestat soon. But if not, then we probably won't see him in the flesh, till the last few eps. And yup, the Come to Me was actually Sam singing, in S1. And I just heard a new version of it, for this 2nd season that's Sam as well. And you probably know already but Jacob Anderson legit sings, if you don't though look up Raleigh Ritchie. His music is absolutely amazing 🙌🏽 He's a lyrical genius for sure 😁 But yeah that's definitely true about Lestat, I don't hold it against Claudia at all that she didn't wanna hear anything he had to say. It's completely understandable, and Lestat himself would agree. He does however have a gag order on him, there's a very real reason why he can't really tell them much at all. So as much as he wants to and would genuinely love to have told them anything they wanted to know, for their safety and his, he couldn't 🤷🏽‍♀️ It's just tragic, that the fact is they really should have listened, and it's because they didn't what happens happens. And that's the real painful truth about Claudia, and the heart of the tragedy of her character. She will never truly be able to find a home, because of what she is. She literally can't exist in either world, just as she is, as an adult Vampire can. It's just all really horrendously sad.

@remholloway2579 You've read book 2, the Vampire Lestat? Then you should know exactly what I'm talking about. Has to do with Marius. Lestat himself mentions it again, in I believe it's Queen of the Damned when he finally is like "fuck it" about Marius' threat and the whole thing. Namely because in having the book published Louis put himself in the very danger that Lestat was being threatened with, so he decided that it was more of a risk leaving Louis out there alone. Then fearing retribution for telling everything. Lestat doesn't do things by halves at all. He was basically like, fuck this rule, I'm not only going to tell me "children" but I'm gonna tell the whole world. About everything 🤣👌🏽 But yeah, it's in The Vampire Lestat, then mentioned again in Queen of the Damned.

Idk maybe i look at their relationship differently but everyone seems to have this immediate claws for Armand but gave Lestat grace I'm just so confused about the black and white thinking of their relationship the show has never been like that. In every interaction Armand has been the one to concede to Louis's wants but people still have this weirdly unnuanced take on him. Not you personally sorry if it comes off that way just all the reactors I've seen so far.

I get what you're trying to say, although I think it's more because there's been minor spoilers about who Armand really is for people who've watched the movie and read the books. Right now he does appear quite protective and caring for Louis and there's no reason for viewers to dislike him yet, but most viewers already know what's up and I suppose they give more grace to Lestat because he's never actually hurt anyone Louis loves.

I think I'm biased because of what he did in the movie. I know what he is truly about and what he's gonna do to Claudia, so it's hard for me to ever trust him. Plus, he acts like he's conceding to Louie, but it still feels like he's hiding things from him.

@@cyanrose499 but via the show we do see him hurt someone Louis loves (Claudia). Though I understand what you are saying I guess I should reread the books because I remember that Louis still speaks fondly of Armaund even after what happens to Claudia and ultimately still very fond of Paris even though he is not with him anymore obviously. The show is rolling more of the future books into this narrative so I am not sure how it will go
