I’ve been in love with the railroad for as long as I can remember. I work as a conductor for a class 1 railroad; and they have taken most of the magic away. But you guys and the 765 keep it alive. Awesome Work. I can’t wait to hopefully volunteer with you guys someday

0:17 tears me right up. I can only imagine that this was in fact the first time 765 moved on its own steam after being retired from the Nickel Plate. Chomping the bit right from the gate, with a wheel slip as she struggles to grab the rails of freedom and the open road once more. 765 may have one more mark upon history that has happened in more modern times. The 2015 Erie Limited trains probably will be the last time that a steam locomotive crossed the Portageville NY viaduct. As video was made by enthusiasts of 765 blowing off steam high over the Genessee river, excavation had begun on the foundation of a new bridge to meet the needs of the Norfolk Southern railway, owner of the line.

This is life aboard our cloud-compeller. We wouldn't have it any other way.

There goal was to restore this old girl and they did just what they said they would the memories people have made she may not run on the main but she still runs in are hearts and spirits. She has ran all across the country. Everyone enjoys the sight and sound. She is the finest steam locomotive in the us. And it’s true.

As a fairly young enthusiasts especially for the 765 I never got to see it but I hope I eventually will for the years to come and you don't need words to explain what the fort Wayne historical society just showed this was truly amazing keep it up

I really need to get a job in the Ft Wayne area so I can join 765's crew. The Berkshire locomotive is an engine that looks and sounds the way a steam train should, and she's handled well by people who share a passion for steam in action. Pictures and videos only capture a tiny piece of what it feels like to be standing at a crossing while the 765 thunders past bringing thousands of smiles.

765 has an incredible group of people working with her! Thanks for keeping the Iron Horse in the hearts and minds of Americans!

This is awesome! 765 came through my area (Letchworth State Park in Western New York State) back on June 9th, 1985. I got some great pictures of that special run and I really wish we could see this train again this year, it has been 30 years now since it last ran our rails. She looks good and she runs strong!

Nkp 765 is awesome but Nkp 759 needs a restoration.

After retired from NKP on May 14th, 1963, Nickel Plate Road S-2 Berkshire 765 restored to service by the Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society on September 1st,1979 🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃. And also pulling the first excursion in 1980.

Hey FWRHS - loved the trailer! But ofcourse, love 765 more! Keep up the VERY GOOD WORK you folks do. And please, PLEASE if you can ever, come to Virginia. We have no steam here! Virginia is like the diesels, it killed the steam program. I know CSX and NS will never allow it, but to hell with them! Come anyways, we would love to have you folks and 765 too!!!!!
