I suggested the ‘hole in the bolt’ for the throttle linkage 👍 I’ve done the same before. Some of the older cars come that way.

Do you really think that you coming onto Chad’s page and having a sook has made even the ‘tiniest’ bit of difference? Nope…just makes ‘you’ look like a whiner. I'm wondering if the backward tilt of the engine is messing with the float level of the carb. Might need a custom spacer.

It ran ok when they started it in that position..and I believe it will only used to race so no uphill driving if that's the case

It would require a much more extreme angle to be an issue. In fact fuel will likely flow from the fuel bowl vents about the same time float issues creep up.

The carb is dirty. It's been sitting for God knows how long so the carb is dirty n dried out

No problem, just run it in reverse! Put a lot of padding in the seat. This will ride like a Harley Hard Tail.

I don't know what you managed to do but the Audio Track on this "First start" video is the first time in a long time that your sound quality has been 100% clear and audible without relying on the "Closed Captions" for me to finally be able to focus on your masterful skills in fabrication. Hey Chad, I recently found your RU-vid videos. Watching back on some of your videos, I saw that you found a 1947 Ford pickup. I bought a 1947 Mercury One Ton pickup a couple years ago. It has a factory dump bed and the original Flathead motor. Its really cool. But as you probably know that finding original parts for it are next to impossible. Would you consider using your fenders as a template, and fabricating a set of rear fenders for me? It would make a great video and I could get a set of fenders that are impossible to find. It would be a win win for us both. Let me know if you'd be interested in fabricating a set for me. Tell Jim that I also have a 1957 Oldsmobile Super 88 Holiday Coupe, mostly original with the 371 Cubic Inch olds motor.

Your solution to the throttle linkage will work but I would have attached the static bracket to the carb mount and allowed for some adjustment

Congrats on getting that engine to fire up. It’s almost always something simple. A sticking center contact on the distributor cap. Who would have thunk it?
