@@TheVlogTheory No artist should be using or supporting AI. Think about all the voice actors who are gonna lose their jobs because of AI. What's even worse is that these companies like Adobe's AI features use artists voices and likeness without compensating them. Obviously none of this is Peter's fault, but I'm disappointed that he would use things like this and by proxy actively promote it.

Entertaining vid, but impossible to ignore the massive elephant in the room. This tool has just swept the legs on voiceover artists who, in my experience as a videographer, already face an uphill battle to establish themselves in marketing. You've probably painted yourself into a corner with promo for the likes of Artlist and Luminar, but I'd love to hear your perspective on where AI is taking the creative industry as a whole.

This video was below your caliber. I’m sure Artlist paid well for it, but I really don’t feel like your heart was in it. I know you’re trying to showcase their AI voiceover, but this doesn’t seem like a good way to do it. And you’re going to have a lot of people on here that do not support AI sweepingly replacing an entire industry of artists (voiceover actors). And for the actual AI voice chosen… it did not fit the video at all. If that was the best, most fitting voice Artlist could produce, then it’s still got a ways to go.

I’d rather use a full on real person to voiceover my videos, but I don’t have a budget to pay them. Starting off with AI is great and all, but it does have it flaws and in the long run I’d always prefer a human being over AI because it’s much more easier to get the result that you want by discussing what you’re looking for.

I've been creating content for 15 years online and a view for 17. There are shifts, always has been shifts. It's important to adapt and not get left behind. Remember how upset people were about printing press in 1400s, painters with cameras in 1800s and CGI in the 1980s and 90s. It's just the new medium to explore! Enjoy and rejoice it!

Noooooo.... as an artist who does some voice over work this makes my heart sad... Maybe people with iconic voices can keep doing voice over work (like Morgan Freeman or Sam Elliot) but this AI is getting so tuned and flawless... feels like this is one job AI can (and will) take easily, for exactly the reason Kirk mentioned. Good thing I do other things as well!

We have seen the signs written for like many years now at least since 2014 with lirebird as a fellow voice-over artist who now just basically works on his own projects because he lost his job to AI video editing I can say it's probably going to start replacing every job that exists we just need to make it so it benefits us rather than causing companies to get richer we need universal income temporary with the transition period and then switch over to a resource disbursement system we're living in a future where housing food medical can all be covered and we won't have to be worrying about working the rest of our lives I mean I'll still go after my passion projects but I think in the future they will be just that passion projects

No. Cutting a voice actor out of the process is detrimental to the industry. There's a difference between removing a background from a photo or cleaning up an image and completely ignoring the wealth of voice actors out there.

As a voice actor I don't have a problem with it I saw it coming back in 2014 and 2015 and even earlier with lyrebird personally thought it was going to be sooner lost my editing job recently to AI I think we just need a new system money will probably not be the future I think it's going to be replacing all jobs anyway

It was somebody else’s job to retouch, or do background removal. That’s replaced now, voice actors will be replaced too. We saw this coming lol, I’m a digital artist and it hurts, I hate it. But it is how it is, find a different career path, and voice act for passion projects I guess. Again, not in support of ai, it’s a scourge but it’s reality now, and will only consume more and more lol

AI can anti-creative, but it can also be an artistic medium depending on how you use it. When cameras first became widely available, traditional illustrators used to complain about photography, too, claiming that it wasn't "real" art.

A true dystopian future is where humans would not be permitted to exercise creative freedom, through fear they become more popular than AI. Peter, you have a great responsibility on your shoulders given the buckets of $$$ you make from your audience here, most of whom are creatives, to not laud this AI technology as cool. There are real world implications to creatives down the line who will suffer to this, if they are not already. It's the impact to families that hits the worst.

if gravity can't hold it down, the shit is taking off and crashing with catastrophic effect. haha. I know this was an exercise, but that dialog would not pass approval. Also, super not a fan of replacing the tallend of a VO performer for a final deliverable. Sure, use it for reference, and hire a talented human to to the actual work. No matter how many "AI" VO performances I hear, it never feels human. My 2c

The original does this thing with the audio where it goes - Sound effects to quiet(er) to sounds to quiet(er) to sounds and so on. Like a wave feeling. At the same time, they added like a Strings sound in the back which builds up as the video progressess which creates some curiosity. It's beautifully done. Adding the AI voice and the extra sounds in the quieter parts actually makes the video lose that wave feeling. The horse sound would have been a nice addition to the original though.

I understand promoting products for sponsors, but all of the AI is NOT creative nor part of creativity, in fact, it takes away from creativity by making people lazy and letting "Artificial Intelligence" do all of the work for them, which does not allow for the flow of creative ideas from the person who is creating content on a channel that is supposed to inspire other creatives/creators. I truly hope that this video is not an example of the direction this channel is heading?! You and Kirk, again, are far too talented to allow AI to seep into your workflow. Think of it this way: One day there won’t be need for Peter McKinnon, you, as well as all other creators in this realm will be replaced with AI, and us creators, too, if we keep promoting and using this AI crap.

I think this a great creative tool to finalize and identify the type of voice actor you want and making sure the script fits the video. Especially if you are doing a re-edit. But ultimately a real human voice will sound best in the final published version.

If I'm honest, I loved almost each one of these... but in this case, for me, the original was that well-balanced that it was touching perfection. With yours it feels more like a video game for teenagers. Not bad, but I think the "let's go for the obvious" sound design changes makes it feel cheaper.

interesting process, but original was better. I think one of the best ads i've ever seen for a car was the launchof the audi R8, the billboard had the audi logo and a phone number. When you rang the number, it just played a recording of the engine going through the gear range......perfect

So much better than the original. Ford should call you guys!! Reading these comments it sounds like there are a lot of people still holding on to the idea that new technology is bad, but of course the tech they already use is totally okay. Even though it probably displaced people from jobs and changed how things were made when it came out. What about the jobs of all the film developers that disappeared when digital came out whatever will they do with themselves? Sorry to say but tech comes in, people find good uses for it and the world adapts. No point trying to hold back progress.
