It seems like it would be painful. As a little girl, I remember when I had knots in my hair, it would hurt when my mom would remove them. It pulls the skin, which hurts. But, it has to be done. And you did a great job.

I hope that this lovely patient little dog it starting to feel much better with all the matted hair that pulls his skin all gone. The biting ticks - all gone. The biting fleas - all gone. The foxtail spur in his skin all gone. His skin clean and soothed from the soreness with the bathing and medical shampoo. His long uncomfortable nails trimmed and his ears clean and freed from hair. I hope he doesn't have any serious medical issues and can find a loving forever home. Well done you two lovely people for caring and giving so much to these poor homeless dogs you deserve to have the best life.

I was thinking if they had something like a yoga block they could slide it under his tum so he was supported when he was standing, at least for some of the groom. I don't know if that's an option though. I love this channel...as other people have said, it gives me hope for humanity.

I'm not a professional groomer, but I am old and I understand how uncomfortable it can be to keep standing. Seems like it would be easier for everyone to lay him on his side and do one side and then the other. It would be easier to reach and see the under parts too. I just feel sorry for him because he is clearly old and rather unhealthy. His poorly little legs keep splaying outward in an unnatural position. Poor guy. 😢
