😀Hey Guys! We just posted How to Install Vinyl Plank Flooring DIY - Carpet to Planks in 7 Steps ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FmhsQ-dpn00.html Take a look👀.
Oh my, after hours and hours of searching through videos. Finally, I've found some clear, and concise instructions for our diy project. Thank you both!!
Oh my goodness. I am 69 years old and after viewing your video I realize that pulling up the carpeting in the bedroom was a lot easier that I could ever imagine. I got started on it. Thank you so very very much for posting this. Do it yourself video
I usually never comment on videos to give any recognition lol BUT thank you lovely couple for this. My fiancé and I are first time homebuyers and we are new to a lot of this whole remodeling thing.. well (mostly me). So this will be our first assignment for the interior of the home. 😊
My husband & I have been talking about pulling up our carpet & putting down wood floors. I'm so glad I found your channel! This video has been such a big help! Thank you! Keep the DIY's coming! ☀️
Thank you very much for this detailed instruction about taking up old carpet. I have been having problems with allergies to dust. I realized recently that the old carpeting in my condo has to go. I have never taken up old carpet before. Your instructions really are helpful. Grateful to both of you!
This video gave me confidence to do the project in my daughter’s room. With the help from my 9 yr old boy and 12 yr old daughter. They said it’s the best quality time. 😂 Thank you for your video!!
I like that you cut the carpet on the underside. This prevents any chance of cutting into the wood floor. I am going to follow your lead. Thanks for the video.
This video was so informative taking me through the whole process in detail. I’m hoping that after watching this video, my husband will be on board with replacing the carpet sooner than later. You two are truly a power couple!
Thank you for the very informative and educational carpet removal video! Cutting the carpet into chunks and rolling and taping has made disposal so much easier! I'm removing carpet from a 1950's home and there's hard wood underneath the carpet. Since I can't do a room at a time, I'm taking out the tack strips but leaving the carpet and pad. I'm just doing small sections at a time for each step. I've found that I can take out the tack strips and nails and let the carpet re-cover the edges until I have time to cut and pull the carpet. Then I am tackling the pad and staples last.

Just found your channel. Love you guys 💕 great cooperation and enjoyed the narrative strategy you cleverly use to teach of the process including each step and important safety tips and tricks for making the job go easy. Well done. Looking forward to discovering more videos. God bless ❤️
Hey my favorite DIY couple, I love how you guys work together on home projects! Great tips on removing the carpet. I also like how you guys use kneepads. That’s something that I need to get.
J, we hope all is well. We found that using that particular kind of knee pad really helped our knees. Check out the link for them in the description. You can use them for all kinds of projects. Happy 2022 -DIYPC 😃
I just pull up some carpet cutting it up in sections helped so much since I didn't have no help I still have more to go I have to get a scraper all those lose underlayment pieces are on the floor
D.O.D., Thank you and you're welcome. Share some pics when you are done with the project...we'd love to see and celebrate 🥳 the success of your project.
So glad to see this vid from you guys!! I definitely subscribed and saved tons of your awesome DIY vids!! My husband and I will be pulling up the very old carpet in our master bedroom very soon!! We're not putting down new carpet...We're doing floor tile!!
Wow! What an inspiration. I love how you two work together. The tone and content of your video is wonderful. I'm excited about watching how you treated the concrete floor. Go, power couple!
my carpet is getting removed after a flood so watching this video 3 hours before the service professionals come in just to get an idea of what may happen. im also on no sleep lol so hopefully they can manage around my heavy furniture by themselves which in general i cant even lift
@@DIYPowerCouple the removal went fab this lvt not So much lol y’all’s instructions are great but my hard head is ignoring my Un level floors and it’s whooping me with this thin click lock 😡 I purchased on a great deal
This why I don't trip on labor fees...people should get compensated good for these jobs - that is alot of work!! As long as its done correct- I prefer to pay for the convenience of not having do DIY.😊
I’ve had all this carpet underlayment tack strip In the first 10 minutes spent the rest of it in the other bedroom with my wife what time these two got done
What was the name of the scraper? Or what do y’all suggest to remove staples? I pulled up carpet from my walk in closet and installed peel and stick vinyl planks. My biggest challenge was there were so many construction staples in the subfloor. They tore my knuckles up…using a staple remover…don’t judge. I worked with what I had…lol! I’m ready to tackle my room.
Nat, we have seen people use regular pliers to remove staples. We would probably use long nose pliers. No judgement. The scraper is a long handle scraper. We have a link to all of the tools we used in the description. Hope this helps...and thank you for watching! -DIYPC 😃
When using the multi tool, you have to push into the teeth (not from the side). We learned that using a sharp razor on a utility knife (on the backside of the carpet) works best. Let us know if it works for you as well. -DIYPC 😃✨
If they charge for pulling up as well as laying down, it could cost more. You could ask if the price is different for laying down (installation) only. We're hoping for the best for you! -DIYPC 😃✨
@@DIYPowerCouple Thanks! Still trying to get up the nerve to do this - I jumped the gun and bought some tiles - now having trouble finding someone to install them. Everyone wants to take me to the cleaners.
You saved like 50$ lol and Whoever ripped it out if you would’ve paid would’ve taken the scrap also and you received a bunch of time Chaim is everything
