For those who didn't see the stream, right before the AI invasion, Parkzer had to use the bathroom, causing Chat to go crazy over "PARKZER CHAIR!" Then, Doug had to go to the bathroom, making Chat think they were going to have a double chair stream, but then Parkzer came back, and Chat got upset, being robbed of the double chair stream. But then, Parkzer saw Chat, said "Ah, my mistake. Carry on." Then left again, finally giving Chat the fabled *DOUBLE CHAIR STREAM!* (At least, that's what I remember.) Also, this was the first time I've ever really donated to any charity. It was only $5, but I was more than happy to. Happy belated birthday, Rosa!

Yknow what’s crazy, over the course of a few years, this community has raised over 400k for Monterey bay Aquarium. If this continues for a few more years, this community will have donated over a million dollars. Think about the real net difference that makes in funding. What a community! Rosa is currently the OLDEST LIVING Sea Otter. If she lives for 5 more years she will hold the record of oldest Sea Otter EVER! Edit: I know we all love Rosa dearly, but do keep in mind she struggles with many health issues. It's not guaranteed she will live to see that title, but we can all hope and love her still.

Imagine the second year. Like, year 1, it was 300 bucks, they probably didn't notice. Year 2, it was 2600 and a pretty big publicity event. The one I'm really interested in seeing is whoever runs their social media. Imagine how absolutely baffled they were that first year when they suddenly got flooded by (what I imagine) was hundreds of mentions, follows, retweets, etc.

Hi, someone who is currently trying to get their degree in accounting here. The transaction would be a single journal entry; record an increase in cash and an increase in revenue. Since the money was donated, the cash will be sent to a specific account reserved for certain uses (Moneray Bay cannot buy a lambo with the money). The next time the accounts will have to worry about the donation is at the end of the year when they have to summarize all the cash they received (both from donations and customers). It would be pretty similar to if the donation was of $20. I wouldn’t get more detailed than that because I would need more than a single comment to do that lol.

As a regular visitor to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, I have actually seen Rosa and can confirm that she is a happy otter. She’s currently retired and is on exhibit permanently now so you can always see her

An Otter having a gang-fued with a Shark is the most Otter thing i've heard in a while. Some brief Sea Otter lore: Sea Otters are aquatic honeybadgers, except they're cute most of the time. My friend and I were the two in that one TTS near the end who donated to “stick it to Google” but we were both genuinely so happy to get to donate and be a part of something this meaningful. Afterwards we were running on the high of how proud we were of this community even though it was 2AM and we both had to be up the next morning. This is one of the best communities I’ve ever been a part of and I’m so proud to be a part of this with all of you guys and Doug and Parkzer and everybody involved and especially our queen Rosa!

34:14 it was funny enough that Napoleon was going to kill his own king in his attacks without realizing it, but he then said “his partner in graceful destruction swoops down from f1 to d3” so he also would’ve killed his Queen too. It’s even more hilarious that his Bishops only killed them because at the start of the game he ordered his whole team to move up 2 spaces and ordered his bishops to go back to their starting positions and move from there.

It's astounding how incredibly creative and passionate so many in the community are. The art submissions and the Minecraft structures are mindblowing. And then there's all the donations. Ocean conservation is important enough to merit this kind of focus and attention, and it's really great that Doug has made this a thing in his community, especially since it started as a joke.
