Idea: Bascially the prisoners dilemma. Random starters, both of you decide which one you want without telling each other, then you reveal what you want. If you pick different Pokémon you get what you chose, but if you pick the same Pokémon neither of you get it and you coin flip to decide which of the other two you get.
Its not really a great prisoners dilemma example. In most cases the optimum choice is just the best choice, unless there is a direct counter to something on the field. Since picking anything other than the best just gives the other player the best. And there is no negative to having a draw on the best really. It would be better if they took it in turns to lead. And if you draw when you lead then the other player get to pick first. That means you have to play mind games because you know whos going to get the first pick on a tie and it creates scenarios where someone is trying to pick the second best as a safety but the other player can still predict that and go for the second best knowing they can pick up the best mon on a draw.
Dude the fact that Chilln rolled delta stream primordial sea and desolate land - all 3 gen 3 box art signature abilities - literally in a row… what are the odds
So,they are doing Gen 8, which means 267 abilities available. 1 in 267 is a 0.0037453184% chance. Then the same two more times, because dupes are available. So that was a 0.0000052537% chance, or 1 in 19,034,163. I think that checks out 🤔
@@Twoswordsdrizzt, unless I'm also mistaken, your math is correct; as each "event" is separate from the others and no abilities are removed from consideration, each chance is 1/267...to figure the chances, you multiply the fraction by the number of "events", so it comes out to be 1/19,064,163. Of course, this is the same chance to roll any three specific abilities in a row...hell, it's the same chance as catching three different Pokémon in a row with the same ability.
@@Twoswordsdrizzt Math checks out. Only thing we can't account for is how random the randomiser truly is...See it all the time in Kaizo ironmon when the same ability keeps showing itself in a small batch of files. Perhaps the randomiser was adding abilities in pokedex order while also generating the random mons in one area. Computers struggle with true randomness. Still is amazing luck to get all 3.
@@zHawkC, I'm not too technically savvy, but when is the Pokémon actually generated? Is it as soon as the exclamation point appears? Is it generated during the switch to the battle screen? Is there a "list" that the computer has generated at some point prior that it draws in order from? The only thing I am sure of with this randomizer (other PokéTubers could be using other randomizers) is that every duplicate they encounter will be the same when it comes to abilities and moves (as long as the level difference won't have changed a move)...for example, every Aggron Chilln found would have had the same ability and likely the same moves.
Funny thing is that it's the exact same chance as getting any three specific abilities in a row (or even getting the same ability three times in a row).
Chillin will never do a challenge like this ever in his life, he got all babies while Quick got legends, he missed 90 acc moves while Quick didn't miss any moves, got ancient power boost and low damage rolls while Chillin is happy getting pokemon under 500 bst
I think it stems more from the rarity of like words...many English words starting with "auto" tend to follow up with "mo" or "ma" ("automotive," "automatic," etc.); visually-doubled syllables (the "toto") tend to wreak havoc with the mind, as those kinds of words are rare...even though the word in question separates the syllables differently ("aw-tot-o-mize" vs. "aw-toto-mize"). If it had a wider user base, it may become easier for more to pronounce, but its user pool is quite small and many of them have other options for set-up/better move choices (the only ones I've seen using it are the occasional Stakataka and Celesteela, though it has a handful of others that learn it).
My idea: use a pokemon with a ohko move like freeze dry and do random encounters. If the encounter isnt killed by the ohko move you are allowed to catch it/have to catch it
This reminds me of an idea I once had. You catch a team of wild Pokémon it doesn’t matter if it’s with skips or not. After you have a full team you two have to flip a coin. Heads means you will swap your teams, tails means you keep your own team.
Dancer can actually be a great ability! If your opponent uses a move classified as a dance move (say, Swords Dance or Dragon Dance) then not only do you get to use that same move, you *also* get to use the move you were already going to use. Two moves in one turn for you.
@@Commnkurtesy, in place of Petal Dance (unless some way of countering the confusion can be found), might I suggest either Victory Dance or Revelation Dance? Not only would Revelation Dance often be STAB (as it changes to be the same type as the user's primary typing), it ends up being stronger than Petal Dance (unless the user is Grass), it doesn't lock you into battle, *and* you don't end up confused (saving either an ability or an item).
@@Alsebra I mean I wasn't making a moveset, I was just naming good dance moves that can activate Dancer. Those are also good ones though! In ScarVi Aqua Step is another one
@@Commnkurtesy, I wasn't thinking you were building a moveset (as those moves have only one valid user...and nobody is using him for *that* purpose), though...and, upon research, Petal Dance isn't as bad as I anticipated (as the Dancer not only doesn't get locked in, but it also doesn't end up confused). I retract my earlier statement that Petal Dance isn't a good option, lol.
Dancer is indeed useful...but only if something else uses a dance in its presence. For example, Dialga is out against something that uses Quiver Dance; after the other Pokémon uses Quiver Dance, Dialga uses it immediately after...and separate of the action you gave it (so it got pretty crazy in doubles in Gen 7...Oricorio using three or four dances per turn).
I’d Love to see a rematch of the gym leader battles with the same Pokemon but with competitive builds if it’s the whole bracket series chillin did or just the final gym leaders in that bracket it would be cool to watch
I think a more interesting version of this idea is with starters. Either pick all three starters or skip. Your team is two groups of 3 starters with maybe 3 skips available.
What about a randomized battleship: you guys have to catch the first 9 wild encounters and place them as you like on 9 fields, starting from a-c vertically and 1-3 horizontally. Then each one of you is taking 6 shots, that’s the team you’re fighting with. Good if your opponent catches some good one , bad if he catches only babies.
I have a great Idea for a next chalenge !!! A matching type pokemon chain challenge but with a twist(see exemple) The first player spin a wheel of all pokemon type and must catch the first Double type pokemon fully evolve he see. The second player must catch the first Double type pokemon fully evolve he see , matching the secondary type of the pokemon the player 1 catch before ! Exemple: Player 1 spin the wheel and get Lightning type (he catch a Toxtricity) (lightning-poison) Player 2 must catch Double type Poison pokemon (he catch Toxicroak) (Poison-Fighting) Player 1 must catch Double type Fightning pokemon ( he catch Pangoro) ( Fighthing-Dark) Player 2 must catch Double type Dark pokemon (he catch Shiftry) ( Grass-Dark ) Etc... Until both player have 6 pokemon. ( you can allowed 1 legendary per player if you wanth) Then battle !!!! (sorry for bad english !!! )
OP abilities fight! You each catch a team and keep their randomized move sets, but you add any ability you want to your pokemon. All abilities (except maybe Wonder Guard) are on the table, but you can only use each one once (so no teams of all Huge Power for example). You might also make a rule for no no guard plus OHKO moves as that might get unfair too. Or maybe it would be fun? Idk!
It's... *fascinating* ... That they still think Tailwind is a good move in singles, when you lose an entire turn to go first for 3 whole rounds, on the fourth round either being useless since you already have a faster pokemon or letting your opponent get 2 turns in a row.
It's also useful as a last-gasp move (fast Pokémon with low HP, for example)...it's really no different than utilizing Trick Room (and Trick Room teams did work fairly well, all things considered).
Idea for an "It's how accurate!?" Challenge. Your pokemon has the moves Steel Wing (90%), Hurricane (70%), Inferno (50%), and Sheer Cold (30%). Using random encounters, you attack with any move you like. If it hits you run, if it misses you catch. You get two catches per move, totalling 8 pokemon, so best save your Sheer Colds for legendaries and Steel Wings for babies. Could also give your pokemon Hustle to increase your chance to miss.
Challenge idea: give or take random trades. 6 random trades, you must take 3 and give 3 to the other person, but you must decide to give or take when the pokemon is received.
All or nothing with 5 sets of randomized starters - have to decide whether to take or skip each set of three. Once you lock in a team of 6 you can't look at any more sets 🔥🔥🔥🔥
The pair locked fight, you have to catch a total of 12 pokemon, you have to catch two random pokemon, these two pokemon will be locked together, so if you want one, you also have to pick the 2nd, then you continue this process until you catched 12 pokemon, then pick your team, but remember you have to pick the pairs.
Love the video! Challenge idea: Catch 8 random grass pokemon. Fully evolve them and you can give them any ability. You can’t reuse abilities once you decide. Example if you use pure power rillaboom and you catch and random groundon next it cannot get pure power. Keep up the amazing content!
It was covered by the blanket immunity to things that prevent escape or recall (which means that Aegislash can freely swap out against something with Magnet Pull, for example).
I have an idea, Type Nuzlocke tournament. You and Chillin have a wheel with all types and each week you guys spin and fight with those types, whoever loses gets that type taken off the wheel and you go until someone loses with each type.
Yall should try a challenge of catching random encounters and each encounter you use 1 ball and move to the next! I.e. Pokeball > great ball > ultra ball... and make your way down until you get to the beastball and masterball!
Video idea: all or nothing starters You get five starter sets of Pokémon randomized. You have to take two sets. And you get three skips. But you must take all three Pokémon in the starter set. It would also be fun if you added two truths, one lie in the scenario
Challenge Idea FOR 4 VIDEOS: Catch the best team of 1. Legends only 2. Full Evos 3. Mid Stage 4. Babies only * and SPIN wheel of sabotage (For babies... wheel of upgrades) The wheel will force you to 1. Limit stats 2. Trade the pokemon caught in the same order 3. Make 3 of the 4 moves on a pokemon of choice useless 4. Give a bad ability 5. De-evolve a pokemon by 1 stage (not for Legends) Etc... And battle with the final teams
Challenge idea: Twin challenge. Catch 2 of the same pokemon, choose the one with the best moves and give the other to the other person. You guys can add skips. Keep going until you both get a full team.
What i have imagined from the title was that you would see 3 starter pokemon on each side (so 6 at once) and either pick them all for the team or skip them. You could make it so that you get to choose 3 set of teams and later on after seeing the abilities and moveset you can choose wich 1 of these 3 sets you get to use for the battle. You have unlimited skips however there's a twist: Whoever choose 3 sets of teams first will have the option in battle to force the opponent to swap their pokemon out for different one at any given time in the battle (once) and once the first person has 3 teams made the other person will be unable to skip team choice anymore, so whatever happens - happens.
Pokemon challenge: Rock-Paper-Scissors Both players have a team of 6 Pokémon with 2 grass, 2 fire, 2 water , each having a Grass move, Fire move, Water move, and a "Wild Card" move. all with the Protean Ability. The Protean ability makes type matchups dynamic and unpredictable, and speed is crucial in determining who strikes first. rules: Both players have the same 6 Pokémon. Each Pokémon has one Grass-type move, one Fire-type move, one Water-type move, and one Wild Card move. The ability for all Pokémon is Protean, which changes the Pokémon's type to the type of the move it uses. for the pokemon to use i would limit it to starter pokemon since it's already grass-water-fire. for example: Greninja Sceptile Cinderace Blastoise Charizard Venusaur wild card move could be regenerative and defensive or offensive and maybe high risk/high rewards(synthesis, shore up, recover) setup moves like (aqua ring, ingrain or shell smash, calm mind, belly drum) it's important that the wild card moves either gets you hit by neutral damage from water/grass/fire or is one of those 3 types. (shell smash is normal) Each person has then the option of either switching out to another pokemon grass/water/fire or if you are faster you can try to predict the other person and punish them. A game of strategic thinking, prediction and adaptibility.
You should do this same thing with randomized starters. You roll 6 sets of starters and you either take all 3 or none. once you have a team of 6 you battle
Here is a possible idea of a challenge. Catch 10 random encounters with master balls. Chillin and quick both get to pick 3 of their catches for the other team and the other 3 the player gets to choose, you both get 3 evolutions so you can evolve a pokemon up or down in stage (for either team), and you both get 3 skips. Randomized moves of course and can use any random items the pokemon is caught with.
Challenge idea: Super effective type chain. You start with a random encounter and then you catch a Pokémon that is a super effective type against the one you caught first. For example you randomly find a Hawlucha, then you can catch a Raichu, then a Rhyperior etc
