It IS. Thats why they called it the J201. It’s a 200 Series LC underneath. Which is why the Lexus shown is using many off the shelf solutions already on the market for the Toyota.
Nice for a prototype. Still needs to get rid of alot of plastic. I like that they are thinking outside of the box. Can only imagine the lead time on that. If it goes into production. I wonder what kind of warranty that will have. Because overlandind and ,off-roaders are very hard on vehicles.
Earth to Mikey! Earth To Mikey! on frequency on 6 7/8's I can here "Capt. Kirk". asking "Mr. Scott" for "More Power" As Mikey and Corrie strap into the "J201" The land version of the "Enterprise". zooming across the desert floor! So much for the diff lock and "Warp Drive"... Cheers, Mate.
Very cool concept SUV for overlanding. Will it has front and rear lockers (beside the center diff lock) and/or 'crawl control' feature like the 4Runner?
Sadly this vehicle is never coming to market. I mean the LX570 doesn’t even exist anymore. Luckily I recently got my hands on a 2020 LX single owner, low miles.
This is one of the coolest looking vehicles I have ever seen (looking forward to what Arctic Trucks does with it) but a dedicated drawer for recovery gear looking like a violin case must be the most useless thing i've seen in an offroad car. Once you actually use it it's gonna just stay in a trash bag somewhere in the back of the trunk anyway, beause that's what everyone does not to smear the whole interior with mud. Did i mention the massive waste of space too?
Is it running a piggy back for the Magnuson supercharger or did they perform a factory flash tune on the ECU? I just installed one of these superchargers on this same type of vehicle and would like to know what they did
Historically formidable offroad vehicles were 4 Cylinders with 150hp or less and 150 pounds ft/tq or less. Excessive Horse Power and Torque can be detrimental in off Roading. Land Rover Defender 90, JEEP CJ, TOYOTA FJ series circa 1960's were all 4 bangers. So true is this, TOYOTA Just released a 4 Cyclinder LC here in America in July of 2023
So they're trying to build a US version of the Prado? But with aftermarket stuff built in. If they could just do something about that awful Lexus grill.
i have a question about overland bound and i dont want to go out and spend 60 bux to test it, can the app function using downloaded maps and my garmin in reach mini or does it NEED a cell signal?
Hey there! Offline Maps are coming soon. August. The tracking works based on a GPS signal, so no cell phone coverage is needed. There is no interface with Garmin products. Does that answer your question?
@@OverlandBound yes I think so, I was asking because I haven't found a super good overland gps for my phone yet and I have seen some advertise that you are able to use a Garmin in reach device as a gps signal when you don't have cell and I want to make sure that a service that I am interested in like yours has that functionality oh and one last thing does overland bound work with Android auto or have plans to?
I just don't understand why someone is trying to combine luxury with overland...it is like taking Paris Hilton to a boxing match. White leather seats and air suspension is not what you need on dust bumpy trails.
goose gear drawers alone added $15k to the sticker.....that's the sad part. I wish more manufacturers would build versions of their trail capable vehicles to innovate but not use already very overpriced plywood drawers makers....you don't get your monies worth with a company like goose gear
So let's address the real elephant in the room..price tag. With a COTS (commercial off the shelf) overlanding vehicle this thing could be nearing the high 5 figure range. Definitely catering to the higher income folks... 😒🙄
