I found Aleks’ results pretty interesting because I am pretty sure that he is from super far east Russia, like near Korea, so it’s kinda odd to see him having western Russian/Baltic DNA, unless his parents were from there and then moved.

MistRTibbles If that were the case (ancient ancestors) then more people would have some percentage of African on their tests but it doesn’t go that far back. Notice neither Tony nor Aleks had any of that. I’d say it might come from Garrett’s Mexican side. African slaves were initially brought to New Spain but the slavery wasn’t perpetual nor hereditary and much of that population was eventually absorbed into Native American groups in the surrounding areas (the offspring of such miscegenation were called lobos/lobas in the Spanish “caste” system).

Garret’s makes alot of sense really. 50% japan (his dad was 100% japanese) 32% france (his mum is 1/3 canadian and the french obviously settled a large part of canada) 13% central/south native American (he said his mother was half mexican which explains that) 2% spain is also explained by the mum being half mexican And the rest is probably some really old DNA that’s banging around.

I think I'm a mix of French, Italian, Seychellois, a little bit of African, and the rest is Australian/English, but I've never been 100% sure because where my grandparents and great grandparents came from has always been a mystery to me.
