Seeing that a lot of cases have only cutouts, I would assume they initially ONLY had one with cutouts based on renders provided by Apple and then closer to the launch had this breakthrough. This would still have them selling the cutout cases as the money had already been spent to produce them and would also explain why there was a shortage and shipping delay on the Hybrid T, they just don’t have enough time to make enough to meet demand… yet.
