Rich does not look at his being a black man as a handicap. If you look most of his friends and coworkers that you see in the videos are White and he doesn't look at color of skin. He looks at how respectful people are to others regardless of their color their income and were they are born and raised. Rich does point out the absurdity of extreme reactions by being absurd and that's his appeal to most people

My dad and I used to go to San Diego Gulls hockey games in the early 90s. There were players in the team making their way down the leagues that didn’t have to wear helmets because they went pro before the rule. 99% of fans were drunk sailors and marines (and the discerning women who were accompany them) from the mid west and northern states. There were guys trying to climb over the glass to fight the refs. There were women pressing their breasts against the glass to distract the other team. There were people passed out drunk before the game started with a cup of beer still in each hand. The fan experience was so out there I will never follow another sports team out of respect.
