Yeah, except they put in a lot of mental effort this time to remember "I'm on my period, I need to stop what I'm doing and change (insert product here)". Most adults have things that prevent this and most of us would be rather living our lives and not thinking about our period all day for 3-7 days.

honestly as you get older you get to a point where if your underwear and bedsheets were the only thing that got blood on them you count it as a win. I have sat in bed, knowing I was actively bleeding and leaking everywhere, and not gotten up because the cramps are awful and it's just not worth it to get out of bed to naively try to prevent the inevitable

When I was 12 my DAD booked an appointment to go diving with sharks. Of course he didn’t know I was on my period. I was a little nervous so the diving instructor told me “as long as you aren’t bleeding the sharks will not go after you.” I didn’t know how to tell them I couldn’t dive so I went in, thankfully nothing happened.

That's really a myth I thought??? Since period blood isn't mainly blood it's not enough to catch the shark's attention or if you have a tampon in it shouldn't matter. Plus most shark attacks happen bc they mistake you for a seal

It's because when you have your period prostaglandins (a hormone like compound) are released. These are what causes the uterus to contract (thus getting cramps) but it also can make your bowels contract as well. But if your body doesn't make enough of these, you might get constipated from the lack of them. Either way it's normal!

you dont have to be rich to do this, off brand super absorbing tampons €1,25 (or $1,43) for a pack of 32, off brand pack of pads, €0,59 (or $0,68) for a pack of 20 you dont have to buy the €4 to €5 expensive always/ob/libresse, those off brand products also do their job for a fraction of the cost

Yeah, it's VERY rare that I get period blood on anything.... if I do, it's an annoying hassle. Like, use pantyliners. Even then my pantyliners don't usually get anything in them. Make sure your cup fits well, and maybe empty it more often. Also, same for tampons, I used to have to change them every 2 hours on the dot. That's why I went to the diva cup. Though, hydrogen peroxide is great for getting blood out of anything. It breaks the proteins down. I've used it on everything except wool or silk without any damage to the fabric.

The best way to get period/blood stains out of clothing is to put hydrogen peroxide on them. It works on dry and wet blood. I've tried it, it works. Most of the time the stain will come all the way out on darker clothing and lighten up on lighter clothing.

I remember when I was in fifth grade and it was my first year of having my period. Of course, I knew almost nothing about periods. So, it was a very active day for me and I noticed that I had just gotten my period but I was wearing two pads because our elementary didn't really have like some place to change. When lunch came around, practically the whole fifth grade saw saw me. And the fact that I was wearing a khaki skirt did not help whatsoever. After lunch we were in line and I was the first person while the boy who had a crush on me was right behind me and the teacher had to personally pull me out of the line and ask me if I was on my period. She sent me to the nurse and it turned out that like half the back of my skirt was covered in red blood. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!

I seriously don't get how these grown women who have probably been bleeding regularly for over a decade don't have their shit together. It's not that hard to change your tampon at a proper rate, and wear a thin panty liner so you don't stain your underwear. If you DO stain your underwear, it isn't just time to give up and throw them in the "period pile," they make STAIN REMOVER for a reason and it works like magic (or maybe they have magic blood that stains instantly??). I've definitely had my share of leaks, but it's very rare and only happens because my period starts and I don't feel it and didn't notice.

I feel very blessed that I can tell when my period is coming based off of symptoms. The day before my period, I get cramps even tho my period hasn’t started. That’s how I know my period is coming the next day so I can prepare for it and I won’t have any surprises or stains. But everyone’s body is different so it’s about figuring out what your body is gonna do on the days leading up to your period.

Oh my gosh I’m not the only one starting at the most inconvenient moment! I started for the first ever time on day 2 of my holiday too. It completely ruined my holiday and have been upset because of it ever since. But I didn’t think that it will happen to anyone else until I realised that all girls go through it and could come whenever and at the worst moments. Thank you xx
