We Tried To Workout Like An Olympic Figure Skater 

just to clarify, maia and alex are ice dancers; ice dancing is different from pair figure skating

I get sick and tired of when people hear figure skating they automatically think of the Olympics. These workouts don't just have to be for Olympic skaters, and before you say I know nothing, I am a figure skater and I have been for 10 years now.

She is an ice dancer so she does not jump or do high level spins if any at all so she probably has an even amount of legs and arms I am a figure skater so I work on the muscles for jump and the flexibility and balence for spins but in general my leg get more of a work out than my arms.

Props to the athletes. It already looks hard. The part where She s spinning looks fun but I hope she didn't slip or something and hurt herself D:

I’m sharing this comment because I don’t think people are being clear enough about the whole ice dancing thing. Ice dance routines DO INCLUDE spins and lifts. Also I’ve seen some comments implying that a lot of these workouts aren’t good for regular figure skaters and that ice dancing isn’t as hard because it doesn’t include jumps but these are also completely untrue. The balance workouts are great for skaters of all types and ice dancing is just as hard as any other form of skating, it requires so much trust and coordination. And spins and lifts take a lot effort to get wright. Idk I just feel like people aren’t giving Alex and Maya enough credit just because they’re ice dancers. Maybe I’m just over analyzing but it’s just my opinion 🤷‍♀️

I like the fact that the reporter is also a fit woman instead of someone who doesn't understand sport at all. We really get to see the difference in strength of everyday 'athlete' with those in olympics

The one mistake every single outlet out there seems to make - Maia and Alex are ice dancers, not pairs skaters, which is completely different from ice dance, imho. But. Lovely video and that's a wonderful insight into what their workout regime is like outside of skating, of which I'd little idea before this.

Here's something for the people who think they know about figure skating there are four categories within figure skating men, women, pair, and ice dance. They are figure skaters stop differentiating ice dancing from figure skating.

Scratch spins are hard to keep center. If you tip other the slightest of bit, you fall out of your axis. It happens to me because I also forget to tighten my core lmao

interesting points ,if anyone else trying to find out training hockey players try Skyarza Hockey Coaching Star (should be on google have a look ) ? Ive heard some super things about it and my buddy got cool results with it.
